"What do you mean 'he left with his bag a few minutes ago'! Where did he go I just went to the bathroom, you glasses-wearing airhead!"

(Y/n) was currently strangling Kunikida who was holding a stack of books in his hands while Yosano tried to peel her off of his neck.

"(Y/n)-san, please let him go! He didn't know Atsushi was leaving, we don't know if he actually left or went on a walk to clear his head.  You're injured and shouldn't be doing this right now!"

(Y/n)'s fingers were pulled off Kunikida's neck as she said, "Of course he left! He thinks it's his fault that the Tanizaki kids are hurt, and this ass practically ground salt in the wound by saying words like, 'this is on you.'  He's a kid who jumps to conclusions, and he already thinks that everything bad that happens to anyone is his fault!  He didn't need someone  practically spelling it out!"

She calmed down after her rant and pulled herself from the Yosano's arms before straightening her bow and outfit before walking towards the door.  "Sorry if I stepped out of line, but I'd be surprised if he didn't already try to contact the Higuchi lady through the card she left and tell her about him leaving the agency.  If you can find that card then I'd believe he hasn't left for good, but until you find the card we should believe that he has left for good."

She turned towards the door to the office and as she reached for the handle a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her back slightly before a puff of airbrushed against her neck.

She turned to see a bandaged hand holding her equally wrapped wrist back before he spoke into her ear, "How did you know about the card?"

She pushed him away from her and huffed out, "It was in plain sight, anyone would have noticed it."

She slammed the door and recalled what had all happened in the four hours since Atsushi had been able to get out of bed.

First, the pair began to sift through files until an explosion sounded nearby and both Atsushi and (Y/n) ran to check on the situation.  It was there that the crowd began to gossip and fear spread into the boy like a disease.  The crowd talked of the Black Lizard, the special operations unit of the Port Mafia, the worst of the worst in that organization.

She pulled the boy out of the crowd by his collar before forcing him to look into her eyes as she said, "Listen to me, and listen good.  The Port Mafia is no match for the Agency, got it?  Even with all of their abilities and gunners, we'd destroy them all.  So don't go doing anything stupid that you think might help, because if you're anything like me you're thinking of running away to try and save us.  You'll just end up getting hurt and we'll still be in the crossfire, got it?  Don't just stew on those doubts because we're all safer together as a team, okay?"

The boy simply nodded before she laid an arm over his shoulder and said, "Good, now back to the agency we go.  I've got some digging to do on whoever placed this bounty."

Then, an hour and a half later, something didn't feel right to (Y/n).  That's when she realized that Atsushi had left the office space.

She began to look for him around the office before the urge to relieve herself had called her to the ladies' room.  When she came out, Kunikida said he was leaving with a bag.

She ran out of the agency door before saying, "Code: Database!"  The familiar blue screen shined to life in front of the girl before she said, "Code: Locate-- Tracking Chip #295. Location and fastest route."

The screen flashed to a map before showing her location and the chip she'd placed on Atsushi earlier that morning.

She had seen through his slightly nervous exterior and saw the storm that was brewing inside his head. She'd had the same storm in her head the nights after she was attacked. It's a storm that she'd had once before, and it's a storm that can only be calmed by doing something the bearer will regret... sacrificing happiness for a safety that doesn't exist.
