I saw Paul standing there, looking just as cute in the dark.

"Paul, what are you doing-"

He sits on the bed, putting his finger to my lips. "Shh..."

"You're not supposed to be in here-"

"Shh." He slides in bed with me, stroking my cheek. "We could all hear your restless mumbles. You're having trouble sleeping."

"Yeah...I'm just surprised Brian hasn't heard it all."

"That's good, though. It means I can sneak in here and work magic. Are you alright? You seemed like you were about to crash at the end of the interview. What happened?"

"I've got too much on my plate. Hearing you lads talk about me like that when I know he won't approve...it's just overwhelming, y'know?"

Paul nods. "Understandable. Let me help you, love."

He fully settles in, wrapping his arms around me and pulling the warm blankets over our shoulders.

I had never been so close to anyone. It felt nice, don't get me wrong, but it still felt rather awkward...

"You're shaking a little, sweetheart. Are you nervous?"

"Well...it's just that no one has loved me enough to do this for me."

"Ah, but I do. You have nothing to worry about, my dear. I am here to protect you." He presses a soft kiss to my neck, before pulling out his final trick:

As I write this letter, send my love to you

Remember that I'll always

Be in love with you

Treasure these few words till we're together

Keep all my love forever

P.S. I love you, you, you, you

I'll be coming home again to you, love

And till the day I do, love

P.S. I love you, you, you, you

As I write this letter, send my love to you

Remember that I'll always

Be in love with you

Treasure these few words till we're together

Keep all my love forever

P.S. I love you, you, you, you

As I write this letter, oh

Send my love to you

You know I want you to remember that I'll always, yeah, be in love with you

I'll be coming home again to you, love

And till the day I do, love

P.S. I love you, you, you, you

You, you, you

I love you

His calm, soothing voice peacefully lulled me into a deep slumber. He was right. He did work magic.

"That's it...sleep, my pretty darling, don't cry, for I have sung you a lullaby..."
