Warning: none:)

You sat in a booth at the Wreck, a half finished smoothie sitting in front of you, playing with the straw inside of the cup and ignoring most of what was going on around you.

Easy conversation flowed between all the pogues, including JJ's new girl, Brit, but you opted out just because you simply did not feel like adding anything else.

It didn't matter anyway because no one seemed to pay any attention to you—not that you minded, and you couldn't focus anyways, not with JJ turning this supposed "hang out" with the pogues into a lousy date with Brit.

"You think you're the best surfer?" He cocks his head, gazing at Brit with love struck eyes that you had only wished were for you.

"I know I'm the best surfer," she retorted, taking a fry off of Pope's plate and he pushed his plate a little closer to her so she could reach easier.

"I've seen you fall into the water more times than John B," JJ scoffs. "You'll be lucky if you don't crack your head open."

"You're the one who's going to get their head cracked open," Brit shrugs her shoulders. "And when you do, I'm going to paint my nails with your blood."

"Can you . . . not be morbid for once?" JJ replies with a small frown and everyone at the table lets out a laugh.

"She's just trying to get in your head," John B says, ending the flirtatious back-and-forth between the couple.

"Pretty sure Brit is already in JJ's head, like, 24/7," you reply a little more sharply than you intended, but no one seems to notice because they're too busy marvelling at the fact that JJ has, in fact, let out the smallest of blushes.

You know you're being bitter, but it's only because you feel so sour looking the couple. You were envious—and you didn't want to be—but it took so much effort to deny the way you were feeling.

Caring was just so tiring, but pretending not to care was even more tiring.

You go back to blocking out the chatter, relieved when the pogues decide it's time to head to the beach for an afternoon of surfing, something you definitely needed right about now.

The water had always welcomed you, waving you in eagerly. The low temperature kept you cool, and by yourself, you were able to leave everything and everyone behind, focusing solely on what was in front of you.

But even something like that couldn't erase all the nasty thoughts plaguing your mind.

You couldn't help but notice how even from afar, Brit looked gorgeous standing next to JJ—talking about who knows what.

You were just glad you were too far out into the waters and no one would be able to detect your frown.

It had been difficult, masking your emotions in front of everyone because no one knew about your feelings. You hadn't even realized how you felt about JJ until he had found himself someone else to create memories with.

Deciding a break was needed, you return to shore, dragging your board behind you and you sulk on over to the logs where your stuff has been lazily tossed aside.

"Hey," you hear a soft voice from behind and you flinch, accidentally dropping your towel.  "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's fine," you laugh lightly and Brit hands you your towel back, covered in sand now.
