Hey bitches.
And bitchettes.

"People are staring at me." I tell my brother who I happen to be conversing with at the back of the room.
"Well no shit Tallia, you don't just drop something like that and expect people not to stare." He informs me.
"Shut up Kai, they're staring at me because I'm hot not because of Alfredo." I roll my eyes oh so seriously.
"Dad hated you calling him that." He chuckles.
"His parents set him up calling him Alfonzo, the amount of fun I had with that name was absurd." I chuckle back letting the memories swarm through my head.

"I'm happy you're here T." My brother smiles.
"Don't get used to it, I'll be gone soon." I warn him sarcastically though sadness lingered in my voice.
He bites his tongue like he desires to tell me something yet isn't so sure. "The Mafia is taking their base back to Italy for a few months, come with us."
I didn't process his words perhaps because I was focused on Marcello and Cebrian bullying the kids at the other end of the room.
He repeated it again causing me to pause momentarily, I hadn't been back home in years and truly, Italy was ever the only place I could call home because when I was there I felt a sense of belonging like I wasn't a misplaced problem in a city where I had no roots nor means of attachment to.

Then I remembered being there just meant more screen time for Damien in my life which was a downfall though I could weigh out the option.
"Moms considering moving too." He drops at a quick pace. My eyes widen slightly.
I don't know why I was surprised, without my father what else would she have in Montreal?
"Mom and the Mafia...explain." I demand, considering all the things she had told me earlier today I wouldn't be surprised if my mom was the capo.
"I didn't know until recently." Malachai begins "but she's actually a very important asset, she carried out a large amount of missions, she knows our history by heart and she's admired by everyone, even the men in the Mafia."

I've always found it amusing that the Mafia men think us women are far too fragile to handle the contents of this lifestyle. They think that our eyes will tremble at the sight of blood and that we're to weak to get the job done but from what I've seen, a Mafia women's hand can only be compared to one of a villain, a vile killer. Why? Because we're forced to be the killers and once we are you cannot show us redemption, our humanity is past that.
My mother taught me that.

"I'm only telling you this so that you have the option for something not better but different. If you desire New York then I'm disowning you." He warns me.
I expected him to say, 'if you desire New York than I shall support your decision' but then I remembered I'm talking to my brother.
"Bold of you to assume I've not already disowned you." I challenge him, my smirk fading when I see Damien approach us.
"Ahhh Dandelion." I sarcastically smile.

"I need you for a dance." He asks me rather annoyed, I raise my eyebrow at him.
"Damien." Malachai calls drawing his attention, "I don't think I can handle you dancing with my sister. Fuck off." He smiles.
"Want me to find you a bitch to dance with you lonely prick?" Damien suggests.
"I have plenty, I just don't care to dance." Malachai replies patting Damien's shoulder as he leaves us two to talk.

"You don't look too happy at the sound of dancing?" I smile off the corner of my mouth.
"Why should I find joy in it?" He raises his eyebrow at me.
"How can you not, look at how much joy it brings people." I suggest.
"Yeah yeah okay Tallia. Just dance with me, please." He grows tired and I eventually agree taking his hand and allowing him to lead me to the dance floor along with everyone else.

His hand tails to my waist and mine to around his shoulders. The most basic way to slow dance but I don't think either of us could handle a further form of intimacy. Why? Well I'd be consumed by it and letting him consume me would be a death sentence to my soul.
We were at the centre of this stupid hall, eye on eye with refusal to break it.
"You know technically I have to kill you." He smirks. I pause momentarily but then my face turns more prideful than his could ever be.
"The news of me being Alfonzo's daughter exceeded anything in regards to me being your lawyer, kill me Danien but spark a war you won't be able to control." I let myself be at a closeness to him saying these words.
