(8) CHAPTER VIII

—WHAT IS HAPPENING?—

Taehyung's voice calling his name made the blonde glance up at the scared beta standing few feet away from him with his hands clenched into fists trying to stay put. That small voice of the beta, his friend made jimin grit his teeth, clench, and unclench his fist. His eyes switched between golden to brown colors and he tried not to breathe through his nose. With his teeth aligned straight and eyes back to their brown color Jimin looked back at taehyung and felt terrible at the scared state of his best friend.

"Oh, tae I'm so sorry I-" Jimin apologized stepping close to Taehyung who tried hard to not flinch. The red haired halted his steps at the sudden increase in that sweet scent. Now that Jimin was able to focus properly without his instincts clouding his brain the sweet scent left him confused and almost close to losing his human side again. Trying not to focus on the scent and focus on his thought process Jimin looked around in an attempt to find the source of it only to realize that sweet scent was coming from the beta standing few feet away from it. Jimin can sense that sweet scent from the beta engulfing him so bad that he could almost feel the sugary taste on his tongue and the hint of fear mixed with it confirmed that it's emanating from the beta himself

The red haired stood shocked in his spot, speechless, nothing of that situation made sense to him

Pin drop silence passed with no one saying anything

Taehyung was left flustered with his own behavior of feeling scared and out of place. He also very desperately felt like fleeing away, especially from Jimin, his instincts screamed at him to hide, run but he stood to his ground trying to focus on his breathing and calm himself down which always helps him alleviate any sort of stress or anxiety easily but right now it wasn't helping him much yet he didn't stop doing it

"Ta-tae? What-what happened? Is everything okay? Did someone-" Jimin widened close to fretting "-Did someone break in?!" He started looking around to trying to look for any sort of threat ignoring his instincts not believing his senses confirming the fruity scent was coming from the beta as he moved around

"No"

Jimin stopped his tracks halting his useless search and looked at the beta who stood at the same spot with his head down, eyes closed

"I don't know" he sniffed "I don't know what is wrong" the beta chewed his lower lip in agitation trying his best to not cry "what is happening to me Jimin?" He glanced up at the blonde, his eyes glassy with unshed tears

"Wh-what do you mean?" Jimin asked concerned not being able to process the puzzling situation

"I don't know, I-I feel hot, like it's burning everywhere and-and I feel so-so scared" finally the dam broke and his eyes started leaking tears of helplessness and fear

"Hey, hey tae it's okay, it's okay don't cry we will figure this out okay?" The red haired stepped close to his friend but the beta immediately took a step back with wide tearful eyes he looked at Jimin breathing heavily but soon realizing what he did he started sobbing uncontrollably

"Oh please, please, please don't cry" Jimin kneeled feeling powerless for not being able to help his friend who was left vulnerable and weak sobbing helplessly in front of him in agony. He tried his best to not freak out himself and start crying along with him, his heart ached to look at the state of him but he tried to not get too emotional and instead focused on thinking ways to help him out.
