(30) CHAPTER XXX

—STEALTHY SIDE EFFECTS—

Not fond of the gloomy brightness of late afternoon that didn't sit well with his exhaustion, Taehyung pulled the curtains close to sate his fiery irritation at the bright light.

Pressing the side button of his phone he glanced at the glaring text that demanded updates on the meeting one more time as a reminder to get his lazed butt out and pressed that same button again to switch it off.

The shower he took in his room wasn't as refreshing as he expected it to be, instead it got him drowsy with sleep.

With hunched shoulders, and droopy eyes he dragged his feet out of his room tired of working not caring to tame his silver locks which he can assume were unruly

Scratching his elbow he begrudgingly stepped downstairs getting reminded of his allergy to that itch, he felt relieved that the redness and bumps on his skin have healed now.

He choose to wear a loose white shirt and joggers after showering to get rid of sweat that soaked through his tee while practicing. Not used to short sleeves since he mostly wore and preferred long sleeves he felt weird as the cool breeze hit his arms. He lazily pulled at the pant legs that were so loose and long that they went below his heels making it uncomfortable to walk. Feeling appeased at the thought of his own clothes arriving soon thankful for Jungkook to reminder and force him to order using his phone that had his card details but a small part of him still liked wearing the alpha's clothes, it made him feel wanted, and inexplicably protected not to forget his welcoming scent that was calming in every way

Feet patting against the cold floor once he reached downstairs Taehyung reprimanded himself for not bothering to put on slippers in laziness

Knowing well where the alpha was Taehyung walked straight to his office and knocked

The coldness of the door felt welcoming to the warmth his body temperature was enveloped in because of the slumber so he placed the side of his head against it, resting.

Stifling a yawn at the comforting temperature Taehyung tried to keep his closing eyelids open. He didn't sleep all night after dealing with Hoseok he monitored and checked up on security. Later he tried to destress himself by working on files in his room for hours only stopping to eat before going to practice combat.

He knocked again feeling the satisfying sound of it resounding in his ear

His eyes drooped close in the tranquility that surrounded him but he was quick to gain control over slipping consciousness as he straightened up leaving the coolness of the door that was turning comfortingly warm

The silence stretching with no response got him confused so he knocked again, this time with louder and longer taps. After waiting for a couple of more seconds he didn't receive any response the omega twisted the knob opting to open it as concerning thoughts engulfed him but as he opened the door the sight caught him off guard

There the alpha's eyes closed and cheek was smooshed against the papers on table which probably had details about the shipments along with empty coffee mugs scattered beside it. But that form of the alpha looking unconscious as he was bent with his head on the table hands with palm flat against the wood on both sides didn't quite calm his worry yet so he stepped closer to inspect and once he got close enough he was able to focus on the soft snoring that was reverberating from the alpha. He stirred in his sleep and Taehyung froze in his spot standing straight, eyes wide but the alpha continued snoring. Taehyung released the breath he was holding but his heart skipped a beat once he realized the reason behind it. The alpha sensed a change of scent but unconsciously calmed down sensing the familiarity in it and Taehyung noticed a stretch of the alpha's lips for a fleeting second depicting a smile before it puckered cutely.
