(45) CHAPTER XLV

—DISTRAUGHT—

As he focused on the path ahead eyes stuck to the mist, a voice called out to him breaking through the eerie silence.

"Let me go with you" All of a sudden Taehyung stepped up with a flash of extreme panic and concern showing on his face.

The sight of members gathered together to leave provoked him to take a step forward, The realization of their departure hit him like a truck, striking him with a feeling of utmost dread like something really bad was going to happen to them. His instincts were calling out to him, to stop the alpha. It was a spike of gut feeling he sensed abruptly leaving him in a state of panicked terror in place of calming stress that he had previously felt.

"No you cannot come with us Taehyung" Jungkook stated leaving no room for argument

"You will come back safe? Will you take care of yourself and be safe?" Taehyung asked taking his steps closer to Jungkook

"Yes, yes I will" Jungkook watched the beta trudge closer to him, his eyes wide with panic

He raised his hands in tremor, threading his fingers through his silver locks he stood lost in fright unable to take their stance of depart "Promise me you will" He forwarded his pinky and thumb towards the alpha who watched the beta standing in unease shifting weight from one foot to another

"I promise" Lacing his fingers with him he looked straight into his eyes trying to comfort him through his word of promise

"Jungkook please, please let me come with you" Not satisfied with growing panic Taehyung stepped closer and grabbed both of his arms desperately making his appeal

"You cannot come with me Taehyung. I told you that please don't make me repeat myself" He let his sincerity show through his gentle tone trying to calm the panicked omega who rarely took his name, which showed his rise of stress. So Jungkook went as far as releasing calming pheromones but Taehyung was too lost in his panic mode

"It's hard, I-I-I-I'm scared" He stammered with tears starting to form in his odd-colored eyes, stricken fear plastered on his face

"I'm scared too, scared for you, I'm scared for all of us, and for that, I need to do this" Jungkook continued to reassure him with his soothing voice, he held one of the hand holding his arm to depict the seriousness of his words and comfort him through his gentle touch

Taehyung stubbornly argued, sniffling as he spoke "We can do this together-"

"That's what we're doing, we're doing this together. We are getting separated just for this quick meet, I will be back before you know it" Jungkook's hand that was holding the beta's arm moved up to cup his cheeks as he patiently answered him ignoring his own rising agitation

"What if you don't find me when you come back? What if something bad happens, I've got a really bad feeling about this, I'm scared Jungkook, you can't leave me like this It's not right" Taehyung tried his best to maneuver him with his words by every means

"Nothing will happen to you I know you are more safe here, with everyone. Please don't make me feel bad. I'm doing the right thing" The leader's eyes shone with concern as he gazed at the beta, catching up on the familiar panic-stricken tactics that he used to persuade him.
