"I would like [name]-san to co-lead the corps with me." Kiriya informed the two hashiras.
Surprisingly for him, they both seemed unfazed by what the nine-year-old master had said.
"I think that is a great idea Oyakata-sama" Giyuu speaks first.
"I agree." Sanemi decides to add.
Kiriya lets out a small breath that he didn't know he was holding. He was obviously relieved.
"I'm glad you think so. You see, my father was going to ask her to be the co-leader when he was still alive but then decided against it." he says
"Do you know why?" Giyuu questions out of pure curiosity.
"I may have a few assumptions. I remember he had come to this decision two weeks before the meeting regarding Tanjiro-kun. He said that having someone as the leader with so much experience on the battlefield would benefit the corps. But, one day before the meeting he decided against the idea. When I asked for a reason all he said was 'I'm not the one who asks her.' I didn't think much of it at the time since I trusted my fathers' judgment. But during her visit this morning, I was reminded of this conversation and I realized that he knew the war wouldn't end at that time-- he must have seen it with his foresight. He knew, for us to win this time, we had to give it our all during the last one." Kirya tells them
"I see. Oyakata-sama, if it's the rejection you're worried about then I wouldn't think much of it, [name] will be accepted as a leader by the others." Giyuu reassures the leader while Sanemi nods.
"Yes Giyuu, I do realize that. I am worried about rejection but not from the lower ranks-- I'm worried that [name]-san will not accept it." Kirya corrects his hashiras.
"If it's to come to that, we will persuade her." Sanemi states.
"That's very reassuring. Thank you. I will be calling her tonight for a meeting, and I would like you both to be there." Kiriya informs them.
"We understand, Oyakata-sama." Both the hashiras say in unison while bowing down.
At school
"WAHHHH, finally the work's done!" Hatsuharu says while yawning and stretching his arms.
"Yup." I say and give him a small smile.
Right now we both are in the council office, packing our bags so that we can go home.
"Ne [name], you can leave early and call it a day, I'll clean up in here." Hastuharu suggests.
"I would actually like that. Thank you Hatsuharu."
