Grow through it

Ever since her trial ended Dominic had been doing a great job of staying out of trouble. The first 2months she spent most of her time out the country with a few of her clients, then she took Gabriel up on his offer to go on a 2week Baecation in Mexico. She liked Gabe but, wasn't rushing to put any titles on anything especially with how her last relationship ended.

In the short amount of time Dominic spent with Gaberial she learned a lot about him. He was from the lower eastside of Manhatton 27 with no children but, wanted them in the future. He grew up in a single a parent home just him, his father and 2 older brothers. Him and Dom bonded over the fact that both of their mothers abused drugs, only difference was Gabe's mother overdosed on heroin while he was just a 13-year-old boy. It hurt him to this day finding her in the bathtub when he came home from school.

The two were curled up on her sofa watching Belly Dominic reached over to grab her phone "Dominic I'm sure she's fine, she's a grown ass woman let her be" Gabriel grabbed her phone laughing. Dom was starting to panic because Mia never came home the night before and they were supposed to go looking at houses that afternoon "But she always text or calls when she's gonna be late or spend the night out" she rolled her eyes at him

"Okay" he handed her the phone back. She clicked on Toyomi's contact "Hello" Toi answered the call "Did Mia stay the night over there?" Dominic blurted into the phone "Well hey, I'm doing just fine. No, she left right after we picked up her things" Toi said in dull tone "Umm, everything okay?" Dom asked because she could tell she was a little off "Yea, everything is fine. Just about to take bubble bath since Cash picked up London for the night" she half lied "Okay okay, so where ya Baby daddy?" Dom laughed into the phone "Idk" she quickly answered

Mid-conversation Mia came limping through the door "Umm T this bitch just walked in I'ma call you back" Dom said into the phone quickly before hanging up "How you doin' Mia" Gabe waved from behind Dominic on the couch "Hello Mr. Greyson" she giggled taking off her sneakers by the door "Where have you been Ma'ma" Dom side eyed her

Mia walked fully into the room plopping down onto the lounge chair "With Hope Mitchell the woman who is gonna make sure my dream house gets built soon" she smiled "Okay I like that tell me more. Like who is this shady Hope lady" Dom laughed "Girl HOPE Casheem's mother" Mia laughed "Ooooh okay I take the shady part back" Dom laughed making Gabe shake his head "My guy had those papers served today too" he smiled

Mia was happy things seemed to be looking up for her lately, her phone started ringing "Excuse me I gotta take this call" she got up from the chair walking back to her room leaving Dominic and Gaberial as they were "Hold up she still never said where she spent the night" Dom looked at the side of Gabes face. He just kissed her lips to shut her up

Mia opened the door to her room she closed it behind her "Hello" she answered the call "Bitch! You think I'ma let you leave me and take my son? Are you fuckin' stupid? HUH!" Rashad yelled into the phone "You dumb bitch I want half of every fuckin' thing. You hear me?!" he carried on. She wasn't worried about giving him half of whatever the old house sold for plus half of the money in the joint account.

She wasn't stupid years ago before Toyomi's father Lamont went to prison he would always put the girls onto game about men but, the one thing that stuck for Mia was when he said to them "Always stack your own money for a raining day. Never rely on any man to make shit happen for you, even if he providing save some of that for YOU" and that's what she did. She took Lamont's words to heart so, she had a sperate account for herself and one for Ryder as well.

"Rashadd fuck you, I'll give you whatever if you leave me the hell alone" she spat "When the house sells you need to be out" she added before hanging up the phone in his face. Mia felt good taking her life back slowly but surely

Across Town...

Toyomi's body was fully submerged under the bubble bath water she was just taking a moment to herself since she was home alone. Milan stormed out after their explosive fight about her wanting to go back to work. She came up for air and to look at her phone see if Cash had called her with any questions yet but, nothing so she dipped under the water again.

Milan realized how stupid he sounded during his argument with Toi he sat there replaying every idiotic word. He shook his head to himself before getting out of his new Bentley truck that Toi bought him with her own money because she worked. He came in through the front door took his sneakers off then jogged up the stairs. It was dark at the top almost like she was sleep he walked into the bedroom it was dimly lit by 3 big candles on the dresser but, no her.

He turned the knob to the bathroom the sounds of R&B came pouring through the door and the smell of warm marshmallows hit his nose from the candles by the tub. He didn't see her so, he made himself comfortable sitting on the toilet with the lid closed she popped up from underneath the water he flinched not even knowing she was in the tub. "The fuck!" he raised his voiced slightly "You're in here during my bath time" she rolled her eyes "Because I wanna talk to you" he looked at her

"Oh no Baby you've done enough talking for one night. You've made it very clear how you feel" she paused "Now let me tell you how I feel Milan. I'm not in the business of being controlled I asked you about going back to work because we have a child together so I figured it would be better to discuss these type of things together" she stared at him blankly before continuing on "Look this is my first child sorry I don't have shit already figured out like you do" she slightly yelled with a tear rolling down her cheek she was so mad at him

Milan sat there letting her get everything out on him especially since he acted like a dick earlier "Baby I'm not asking you to have this Mommy stuff figured out overnight. Hell, I was just getting used to it with Kylie then BOOM I got 2 little people looking up to me" he wiped her tear "I was just being selfish you spoiled me rotten girl" he kissed her lips "And I never wanna control you I don't ever want you to think that I love you, we just gotta help each other grow through things because we're still learning each other as crazy as that sounds" he smirked

"How about I just start off with just 2days a week, and see how it goes from there" she looked at him "Whatever you wanna do Ma I just wanna show my support" he caressed her face "I love you, Milan. You forgive me?" Toi leaned up wrapping her arms around his neck wetting his shirt "Forgive you for what? It was all me being a dumbass" he looked down at her face

"Well... Baby your game kind of got hit with the baseball bat in the garage" she bit her bottom lip "What?" he furrowed his brows "Nothing get in I want you to hold me" she smiled at him. He just got up to get in he'd deal with the game later if need be
