Chapter 9

-Emiko POV-

Tsugawa marked Tetsuya, but he soon lost sight of him.
'Nice, Tetsu' I smiled.
Also the others were finally able to read Seiho's movements.

I saw the other coach look at me and I smiled.
"I've never seen anyone study us so thoroughly before" I heard him say.
'It's a good thing I picked up a few things from Satsuki'

Kagami stared at Tetsuya.
"Amazing..." he said.
"You just noticed?" I asked. "He's always like this"

In the last 30 seconds, we caught up.
But Seiho wouldn't let us, so they scored again...
"All court man-to-man?" said Riko.

Tsugawa had followed the ball, so he saw Tetsuya.
"Kuroko!" yelled Kagami.
Tetsuya missed the first pass on purpose, but with his other hand, he managed to pass to Hyuga.

Hyuga shot the ball high and scored a three, a buzz beater...
"Yes!" we all shouted.
I ran onto the field with Koganei and hugged Tetsuya tightly, who hugged me back.
They all lifted me up and threw me in the air.

I laughed, I was happy I was of help for them.
"Why?!" we heard Tsugawa shout.
The boys put me down and Tetsuya held my arm.

"Seirin just formed last year!" shouted Tsugawa. "We practice way more than them! They didn't stand a chance last year! No matter how you look at it, we're stronger!"
"Enough, Tsugawa" said Iwamura. "The strong don't win. The winners are the strong ones. They were stronger"

We began to walk away before Tsugawa shouted at Tetsuya.
"Tell me your name!" he shouted. "Your name!"
"It's Kuroko Tetsuya" said Tetsuya.

"I'll remember it" said Tsugawa. "I definitely won't forget"
"Thanks" said Tetsuya, making me chuckle.

"73-71, Seirin!" announced the referee.
"Thank you very much!" they all shouted.
"Congratulations, guys" said Riko in tears.

"Keep it together, Coach" said Hyuga who put his hand on her head. "It's not time to cry yet. You can be happy after we win the championship next"
"Looks like they're finished too" said Kagami when we heard the end signal on the other court.

"You're right" said Tetsuya.
"113-38, Shutoku!" I heard the referee shout.
"113-38?" I said. "Show off's"

"Go put on jackets before you cool down!" I shouted in the changing room. "Make sure you stretch! Also, take some amino acids to restore your energy! Don't forget to recharge your calories! I'll come around and give each of you a massage, so take off your shoes!"
I massaged Hyuga's feet.

"How does that feel?" I asked.
"Thanks" he said. "I'd be lying if I said I'm not tired, but I'll somehow make it through the next game"
"Thank you, Emiko-chan" said Riko. "Your skills are really helpful"

"No problem" I smiled. "I asked my dad to teach me some techniques when I was Teiko's manager"
I heard Kagami snore and I sighed.

"Hey, Kagami!" said Riko. "Your body will tighten up if you sleep!"
"Let him be" said Hyuga.
"He's not usually this down after a game" said Izuki.

"It's probably because he got four fouls" said Koganei. "It's not anything to worry about"
"Your last foul was a little unexpected though" said Tsuchida.
"Maybe he feels responsible in his own way" said Hyuga. "Besides, I don't think he's sleeping. He looks to me like he's saving every last bit of energy he has for the next game"

"Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom" said Tetsuya.
"I'll go too" said Koganei.

When they came back, Koganei talked to me.
"Something happened" he said and I frowned. "Someone from Shutoku noticed Kuroko walking behind him"
"Tetsu isn't unnoticeable" I said.
