"I get lost in my own mind"

✦ ✧ ✦

The next morning was a pain in the ass. I had a painful headache and my back was slightly burning. It was so strange but I couldn’t do anything about it. I stood up and slowly picked out my clothes and put my books in my backpack as I put on a red sweater and black jeans. I don’t really care about my outfit honestly. People can judge me all they want I never really cared about people their opinions, it's a waste of your time.

I ate a sandwich before going to school and before I left I realized that I forgot the most important thing. My book from Dakota. I quickly ran upstairs and looked for it but couldn’t find it. Weird, where did I leave it? I looked through my whole room and realized I had to go to school or I would be too late. I will look for it later.

I arrived at school and quickly ran to my class. We had science. I hate every subject so much, except PE. That’s the only subject you can just run around and be kinda free.
For the whole class we were only listening to the teachers bullshit, not even useful to my life. I want to become an investigator. I want to figure out how these people and children are getting killed, and are these sightings from people real? I want to know everything myself.
‘’Rowan keep attention!’’ I suddenly heard the teacher yelling at me and I quickly looked at him, I was staring at the ground imagining me being an investigator. ‘’Sorry,’’ I said as he continued. Me paying attention? That’s rare.

We finally had our lunch break and I saw a boy named Max. He was seen as a loser by everyone because he believes in the stories and myths just like I do, but the difference is that I didn’t reveal my belief in it. ‘’I’m gonna talk to Max.’’ I stood up and the boys looked at me, not really caring. Except for Michael. His gaze looked annoyed. He can be scary sometimes. He had black hair and dark green eyes, he was kind of muscular and intimidating as hell.

‘’Hey! You’re Max right?’’ I said while smiling as Max looked up as his eyes widened. ‘’Y-Yes that’s me.’’ He laughed nervously as I sat next to him. ‘’How are you?’’ I asked, not wanting to begin the stories straight up. ‘’Oh I’m fine, just kinda lonely. How about you?’’ He said while smiling. He’s very nice. He had curly dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. He had small freckles on his face and he was very thin.

‘’Oh I'm fine and I can sit with you if that's okay! I was just wondering about something.’’ I looked at the table as I continued. ‘’You are not the only one believing the stories and myths, I believe in it too. But keep it a secret please. I just want to talk about it with someone.’’ I looked at him and his face almost made me laugh. His eyes widened and his mouth was wide open in disbelief. ‘’Since when do YOU believe in it? You are friends with Michael!’’ He said louder. ‘’Be more quiet or he will hear if that’s what you want,’’ I looked him slightly annoyed in the eyes as he nodded. ‘’I saw something today, at my house!’’ He whispered with a smile. ‘’What did you see?’’ I whispered excitedly. I felt jealous but maybe this could explain the deaths? Could be right?

‘’I saw a woman with angel wings at my window! She was absolutely beautiful but she disappeared swiftly. I saw her a split second outside my window and before I could even walk towards her she vanished, crazy isn’t it?!’’ he whispered while smiling. ‘’What did she look like? were you able to see where she went?’’ I quickly asked as I heard the bell rang.
‘’No, she just vanished in thin air! But we can talk another time.’’ He smiled as he grabbed his backpack and ran towards his class, kind of a nerd.

‘’What were you gossiping about huh?’’ Michael said annoyed as I went back to the group towards the classroom. ‘’Well I asked him why he believes in the...you know aaaand yeah that's it,’’ I tried to cover the conversation we really had but Michael just looked at me with his intimidating gaze, creepy. He took a deep breath and followed the others. ‘’Just make sure he doesn’t pull you into his theories.’’ He already turned around and I quickly followed them as well.

Hours went by and school was finally over. I was outside unlocking my bike as I realized my book was still missing, shit. I quickly jumped on my bike and dashed home. And I think I know who got it.

The chapter was kinda short but this one was rewritten too! The next chapters are all the same.
Hopefully you'll enjoy further :)
