"Always remember someone's effort is a reflection of their interest in you"

✦ ✧ ✦

I felt angrier and angrier as I realized that James could've taken the book. I stood in front of James' room. Quietly I listened if he was in there. I tried to open the door and it wasn't locked. I walked into his room. Empty.

I tried to look everywhere. Under his desk, under his bed, in his closet. Nothing. Scared, I ran to the trash can outside. Nothing. But then James came home. He walked to the door like nothing happened. I felt so angry.

"JAMES WHERE IS MY BOOK?!" I shouted. "I burned it, time to get older little shit" he laughed. Anger and sadness got into me as I clenched my teeth. That book was a gift from my best friend, Dakota. She was my childhood friend. She lived across my street. Until she had to move because of her family business. She was just like me. Believing in the myths no one believed in. I could tell all my conclusions about the things I read and she would listen. She loved to read too. Before she left she gave me that book as a reminder.

I don't wanna lose it. I don't wanna lose her. Well, the memories.

I entered my room and just dropped on my bed. Not having any motivation to do anything. Because I skipped classes a couple times my parents are getting called, they get angry at me and I still don't care. I get good grades if I just learn 2 day before a test. I'm not that bad.

I'm going to look for a copy of that book, there should be more.
When i almost fell asleep i saw a shadow crossing my window fast. I sat straight. What was that?

I slowly walked over to my window. Suddenly a creature's head popped in front of me. Shocked, I fell on my bed and leaned against the wall behind me. What the hell is this!?

I couldn't see what it was because of the sun behind it. I just saw a creature's head totally black. Could it be a dragon? It looked kinda like it.

The head came closer to me as I started to breathe faster. Scared but fascinated at the same time. The creature's body covered the whole window now, I could see its colors now clear. It was a phoenix! It was bright red with yellow and orange feathers of fire. It looked beautiful.

The Phoenix came closer and sniffed at me. He kept looking into my eyes. The creature had beautiful eyes too. Bright yellow and a red pupil. I reached to his head with my hand. Not thinking about why it was here. As soon as my hand came closer his eyes turned sharp and backed off. A loud screech came out of his mouth. I covered my ears and closed my eyes for a second as the Phoenix left my window.

I opened my eyes trying to look at the window. But the sun was shining too bright so I couldn't see where the Phoenix was.

I was finally able to look at the window and I was shocked.

A woman stood there. Angel wings came out of her back. She had pure white hair and vibrant blue eyes. She smiled at me. I couldn't smile back or show any emotion but fear. Who was this woman? Why did she have wings? Am I dreaming? Is this legit?

"Please don't be afraid. I won't hurt you in any sort of way" she explained carefully. Her wings shrinked into her back. She stepped to the left so I could see her better. She was absolutely beautiful. She had an hourglass body, and a pretty skin tone. Somehow the definition of perfection.

She smiled at me. "I understand your fear. But i'll introduce myself anyway. I'm Celeste Avalge. Goddess of Creation. And an angel, as you already saw. I'm sorry if my Phoenix scared you, he didn't expect you to reach for him", she said. She had a lovely voice. A voice you couldn't deny.

"I-i-i im R-Rowan '' I stuttered. With a small grin I sort of waved to her. She laughed. "I know you're confused, but I'll explain everything to you," she promised with a beaming smile on her face. I didn't know her until now but I just knew I could trust her.

I nodded and sat straight to listen to Celeste. Such a pretty name. The Phoenix slowly showed himself at the window. He looked curious and stood there and listened.

"So, as I was saying. I come from Arcelia. It's not heaven as you may think. It's my Empire. And no it's not miles up in the sky", she explained with a laugh. I smiled and listened carefully.

"My Phoenix' name is Imber. It's a fire Phoenix. He's my best friend". The head of the Phoenix laid on Celeste's shoulder as she talked.

"I came here to talk to you". She said with a serious look on her face.

"Me? Why?", I asked curiously.

"You have something that belongs to another realm. Not this world." She answered.

"Rowan, are you in your room?" My mother yelled. "Shit! Celeste hide! Fast!" I whispered concerned.

She didn't move a muscle and just started laughing. My mother came in and I stood up like nothing happened.
"Rowan, go use the bathroom before your father comes home from work, he doesn't want to wait okay?" She asked. "Uuhh- y-yeah i will," i answered confused.

She left my room and I turned directly to Celeste and her Phoenix Imber. HOW!?

"How did she not see you?!" I whispered confusedly. She chuckles.
"It's impossible for a Human to see a person from another world. Only when a angel, demon, creature or just anything from another realm touches them. Imber touched you when you went outside looking for that book in the trash," she answered.

I looked amazed but confused at the same time.

"I have to go now, apparently my Empire needs me. I'll visit you as soon as possible! And keep this to yourself, no one can know. Not even Max or your family. Oh and you can have this," she reached her hand to me and her hand was in the position like she held something but there wasn't anything in her hand.

Suddenly white light covers her hand and as soon as the light disappears, my book from Dakota laid in her hands.
I took the book and my eyes became watery. "Thank you!" I shouted. She smiled and took the place on Imber's neck. They took off as Imbers wings pierced through the sky. Something no one has ever seen before.

I think I'm the first to be in contact with an angel. No. A Goddess!

If you want to know what creatures like Imber would look like, let me know! Bye bye
