She is wearing a light blue mermaid gown with different colored layers of light blue as the skirt. The dress is beautiful and has blue shimmers all over it, matched with a few gold shimmers. On her shoulders are different kinds of shells and around her neck hangs one big gold shell. Her hair is tied into a bun and she wears brown fingerless gloves with a few shells on them. She holds a light blue purse that matches her dress in one hand. This is the perfect outfit for her. This just screams her name.
People murmur all around me but I only have eyes for them. Ben walks up to her and she walks down. They meet in the middle of the stairs and Ben extends his hand which she takes. I let out a breath as they walk down the stairs together. They stop at the bottom of the stairs and they face each other. Ben grabs her left hand and moves to kiss her hand. I spot something all too familiar on her finger. He kisses his ring that is on her hand and everyone around me gasps. I am just stand glued to the ground.
Was I really this blind? How could I think that he was really still in love with me after all the things I said? I made the decision to turn away so the kingdom wouldn't turn on him after I would make a big mistake. I knew that eventually, he would find someone else. But why does this hurt so much then? Is it because it is with her? Or is it because it's so soon? She giggles as he comes up and takes her hand.
They stop in front of me and Ben lets go of her hand. "Sorry. It all happened so fast." he says as he stands closer to her. "Something happened to me when I was on the Isle with Uma." he says. They look at each other and they both smile. "A connection." he says. I look down and nod my head. "What are you saying?" I ask as I look back up at him. "I'm saying-" he starts. "It was love." Uma interrupts him with a big smile. "I just," she starts and she takes Ben's hands in her and they face each other. "I realized how alike Ben and I are, you know?" she says, the last part directed at me. "We are." Ben says and Uma giggles. "You're so beautiful." Ben says to Uma. I look back down again and blink a few times. "Did you go back for her?" I ask and slowly lookup. They turn towards me. "He didn't have to. I dove through the barrier before it closed and I'm an excellent swimmer, so," Uma says. Ben chuckles at that comment. "You are." he says as he leans towards her. "Thank you." she says and laughs. I feel the tears coming up so I blink again a few times. I knew this was coming so I am not going to cry over this.
"Listen, Kara." Uma says and she steps towards me and she grabs my hands. The last thing I want right now is physical contact. I just want to go and be left alone. I try to pull back but she tightens her grip. "I just really want to thank you. For everything." she says and then she hugs me. Something dark inside me stirs. I don't want her touching me. "Thank you. Thank you so much." she says and then she lets go and gives me a big smile. "Don't you see, Kara?" Ben asks as he steps forward. "You were right. You knew that we weren't meant to be together. That's why you never told me that you loved me." he says. Something breaks and I let out a breath. "Thank you." Ben says.
Ben takes Uma's hand and light music starts playing. Uma hands her purse to someone and Ben wraps his arm around her back. Uma places her hand on his shoulder and their other hands are joined and they start waltzing. "Come on Kara." Evie says as she takes my hand and takes me back a few steps. Everyone takes a few steps back to give the couple room. "Not too thrilled I risked my life for him." Carlos says, who is standing to my left. I let the side of my hand touch his hand and he gets the message. He takes my hand in his and starts to rub circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. It is this motion that keeps me from falling into my own thoughts. Into that endless void which I know I won't come out of. It hurts me so much to see them together, even tho I should be expecting it. "We are with you, Kara." Lonnie says from behind me. Ben twirls Uma around and turns her in a circle as to show her off to everyone. She gives everyone a big smile. I ball my right hand into a fist. The darkness inside me flaring up. I feel a familiar hand close around my fist. "Let's get out of here." Jay says.
Carlos lets my hand go and Jay leads me around the dancing couple, one hand still over my balled fist and the other on my back. I lean into him. We come to the bottom of the stairs. "Kara." Adam says, stopping me. "Honey, we're so sorry. We had no idea." Belle says. "I'm gonna talk to him." Adam says. "It's okay." I say and give them a sad smile. Jay pushes my back gently and we walk up the stairs. Suddenly the spotlight clicks on and I look up. Jane is standing at the top of the stairs next to Lumiere and she holds her hands out in front of her as to stop us from moving. "And now, for the unveiling of King Ben's masterpiece, designed especially for his lady." Lumiere says as he motions to me. I stop and turn around as the trumpets start playing again. On the other side, at the top of another set of stairs is a rectangular thing covered by a blue curtain. The trumpets stop playing and the blue curtain is being pulled down.
I gasp and everyone starts clapping. It's a stained glass portrait of Ben and me. Ben is sitting on one knee, dressed in the same clothes he is wearing now, with the crown on his head. He looks at me and has his hand extended to me. My hand is almost in his and I also look at him. I am wearing a dark green ballgown with different kinds of layers of green in the skirt. The top has silver-colored pieces of lace detailing on top. I am also wearing dark green fingerless gloves. And my hair. My hair is silver and flowing behind me. And to top it all off the is a golden tiara on my head. "Ben did that?" I ask. "Yeah, he did." Evie says. "Ben's known who I was all along." I say and walk back down the stairs. "He loves the real you, Kara." Jay says. "A true love." I say. "Told you." Carlos says and I laugh.
"Cover that back up!" Uma says breaking my gaze away from the stained glass and towards her. She quickly walks towards the bottom of the stairs with an angry face and I frown and everyone gasps. "I will not." Lumiere says. "Um..." Uma says, looking around. She chuckles nervously. "Why don't you tell everyone the present you have for me, Ben?" she asks, switching back to her princessy act. Ben's face is blank but after a few seconds, he nods. "I have an announcement." he says loudly. He takes a step forward and extends his hand towards Uma. She takes it and joins his side. "Uma will be joining the court tonight as my lady." Ben says. Everybody says no and Adam steps forward. "Sun-" he starts. "Not now, Dad!" Ben yells and then looks kind of shocked by his own reaction. I frown. What is happening? This isn't like Ben at all. "Uh, so, as my gift, uh, to her, I'm bringing down the barrier once and for all." Ben says. Everybody gasps.
I look at Connor who is standing beside Mal. We lock eyes. "This isn't him." Connor says. "Fairy Godmother." Ben says, turning my attention to him. Fairy Godmother looks shocked. "Bring down the barrier." Ben says. "I most certainly will not." Fairy Godmother says. "I am your King!" Ben says. "Obey him." Uma backs him. Everybody gasps again.
Connor is right. This isn't Ben. Ben would never use his title to his advantage like this. She must have done something with him. It's like I get hit in the head with this realization. "Ben's been spelled." I say. "Ben." Uma says turning his attention to her while holding his hands. "Uma must have found my spellbook." Mal says. I look up at the stained glass and then back towards Uma who is making sure that Ben looks at her. How do I get him out of this? I look back up at the stained glass. I smile. I think I know at what moment this is based on because we talked about this. Well, not the stained glass but about the situation in which he would be kneeling in front of me, holding out his hand. I remember the day well. It was in one of those rare moments we had alone. We were alone together.
"Alone together

In the gallery and you're just out of reach" I sing and I look down at Ben and Uma. Uma has now turned around to look at me. I meet Ben's eyes and I smile.
"Alone together

I'll never be alone again" I continue as I walk down the last two steps and stop a few steps in front of him.
"Whenever your close, wherever you go I wanna be near" He just looks at me with a blank expression. Come on this has got to work.
"The deal was proposed
But I didn't know just how I'd feel" I know now how I feel. I know that I was wrong about my feelings.

It was so innocent, now that it's intimate I want more" I know that it was selfish to run away to the Isle. I will try harder and I will never leave again. I never want to leave him again. I want to be near him. I take a step forward.

Colored in green, gilded in gold" I smile at the memory of us standing in the gallery and looking at this one beautiful painting. On the right side of the painting, you saw trees. There was one particularly big tree. To the left of the painting, you could see a light yellow color, which faded into orange which in turn faded into a purplish light blue which covered the sky of the painting. It's was the sunrise. In the distance, you could see the mountains forming. Also in the middle of the left side was water. An ocean that stretched out until it blended together with the mountains in the distance. It was the most beautiful painting I had ever seen. We spent a lot of time in the room with that particular painting. Just talking and looking and laughing.

When we're alone together" He told me many things that day. And in turn, I tried to open up to him. But I know that it was not enough. That is why I will have to try harder. And I will have to share things with him. I will have to open up about my dad and my past. And I am going to. Because he is worth all of the sadness. He is worth everything.
"I wish you were mine" I take the last few steps towards him and place my hand on the back of his neck and kiss him. I pull back and look him in the eyes. A smile creeps on his face. "Kara." he says. I give him a big smile. He leans forward and our foreheads touch.
"Ugh! Give it to me!" Uma yells, ruining our moment. I quickly let go of Ben and turn around. Uma runs towards the Fairy Godmother and tries to grab the wand but Evie holds her back. "Guards! Seize her!" Fairy Godmother says. No, they can't take her. I mean yeah, what she did was bad, like really bad, but all she wanted was what's best for the Isle. Uma runs towards the railing and I quickly run after her. "No!" I yell. "No, stop!" I yell and I raise my hand at the guards and guests that are running after Uma too. "Please, stop!" I say to Uma. She stops and turns around. I stop in front of her. "Uma, I know you. You are so much more than just a villain. And you have to believe me because I've been there. You want what's best for the Isle and I get that. I should've brought more kids here in the past six months, but I completely forgot about it. You can help me, but do not let your pride get in the way of something that you really want." I say. She looks at me. She looks like she is considering it. I take a step forward. "Please help me make a difference." I say as I stretch out my hand for her to take. Then her neckless starts to glow up. Uma looks at it and then looks back at me. She gives me a small evil smile and I frown at her. Then she turns around and starts to climb the railing. "No! No! Uma!" I yell, but I am too late. She jumps off the railing into the water.
Everyone rushes to the railing and looks over it. Uma lands in the water with a big splash. "Where is she?" I ask Jay who is standing at my right. "I don't know. But she's a good swimmer, so she must surface soon." he says. But I don't know when soon is, because she doesn't come up. Just when I think she won't resurface anymore, something starts to glow underwater. I frown. Then there is some kind of whirlpool that comes out of the water and rises and rises. The higher it goes, the faster it starts to spin. And then it explodes. Everybody screams and stumbles back as the force of the explosion hits the side of the boat. Everyone is soaking wet. Then I hear Uma's evil laugh.
I run back to the railing and see that Uma has transformed into a giant octopus. Well, more like half of an octopus. The top half of her body is still its normal self but she has eight tentacles as legs now. Everybody gasps at the sight of her. "True love's kiss won't defeat this." she says with an evil smile. "The world will know my name!" she yells as she spreads her arms. Then she yells again and a tentacle heads towards the boat. It's heading straight for the part of the boat where Ben, Carlos, Jay, Doug, and many more people are standing. Everybody screams and ducks on their side. I just look at Uma with an open mouth. She is attacking them. People who did nothing wrong. She is going to hurt them. Anger rises in me. She yells again and another tentacle comes swinging towards all of us now. Everybody screams, takes a few steps back, and ducks.
She is going to hurt my friends. She's going to hurt everyone I love. How dare she? I feel the anger growing and growing, and I can't control it. I get back up and take a few steps to the right, away from everyone. I look at Uma and I am panting slightly. I don't know what this anger is inside me, but it's powerful. I have to control it, I don't want to hurt anybody. Uma places her hands on her hips and laughs. "Ow come on. Golden eyes? I am really scared now." she says. Golden eyes? I look at my friends. Their mouths open slightly as they look into my eyes. My panting becomes more rapid. What is happening to me? "I expected more from you you know?" Uma says. I look back at her. She is looking at her nails, almost bored, but then she looks at me. "I mean you're the daughter of-"
"Don't you dare speak his name!" I yell at her. Harry told her. That son of a bitch, how could he? The anger consumes me and before I know it I have no control over myself. It's like this dark side of me just showed up and is taking over. "Transform into a dragon. Scales, wings, and fire. Dragon is what creature I'm seeking. I want to be able to change from human to thee. Dragon, dragon, dragon. This is my wish, so mote it be." I chant softly to myself. "Kara?" Ben says. I force myself to turn my head towards Ben. I look at him with pleading eyes and then I can feel myself start to shift.
Black smoke whirls around me. I hear someone laugh evilly, only to realize the laugh is mine and it's in my head. "Who are you?" I think. "Oh, honey. Don't be scared. I am just the better version of you." my own voice, only filled with a lot more venom says back. "What do you want?" I ask. "Isn't that obvious? We're gonna teach Uma a lesson." she says. "No!" I say. "Now. Sit back and enjoy the show." she says. I try to do something, but there is nothing I can do. I don't have any control over my body. I let out a scream, only it comes out as a roar. The black smoke disappears and I let out another roar. I fly up and away from the people on the boat. I screech. It takes me a second to realize what has happened. I just turned into a dragon.
