"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower? C, give it a bottle? Or D, carve out its heart?" fairy godmother asks. We've been answering these stupid questions for the past hour. Because of our failure to capture the fairy godmothers wand yesterday evening we are now doomed to go to school today. We're currently in remedial goodness 101. A class specially created for us, the villain kids. We're sitting at desks. Evie and Mal are sitting at one desk and Carlos, Jay, and I are sitting at another next to them. I've been reading a book from our dorm for the past hour. The book is called The Hobbit. It's about this hobbit named Bilbo. He has a wizard friend named Gandalf and Gandalf sets him up and he goes onto a journey with thirteen dwarfs and Gandalf to claim back this mountain called Erebor, what was once their home, and the treasure inside the mountain. The book was standing in the bookcase in our room and the summary sounded interesting...and there is a dragon on the cover and dragons are awesome.
Evie's hand shuts up into the air. "Evie." fairy godmother says. "What was the second one." she asks. "Oh. Okay. Anyone else?" fairy godmother asks. No one raises their hand. "Kara?" she says. "C, give it a bottle." I say without lifting my eyes from the book. "Correct. Again." she says. "You are on fire girl." Carlos says. I look at him and he smiles. "Let me tell you my secret. Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun." I say as I smile back at him. "Oh." Carlos says. "That makes so much sense." Evie says. I shake my head and let out a small laugh. Jay looks at me with a dumb look on his face. "What gorgeous, couldn't figure that out yourself?" I ask him. He laughs and shakes his head. "Ah, I see. Beauty, but no brains. What a shame." I say. We look at each other. His face mad, my face serious. Then we can't hold it anymore and we burst out in laughter. Fairy godmother clears her throat and we stop laughing. Then I hear a small squeal and a girl, wearing a light blue dress and a matching headband with a bow on it, walks in between our desks towards fairy godmother. She keeps glancing nervously over her shoulder at us. "Hello, dear one." fairy godmother says. "Hi." she says softly. "You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation." she says as she hands fairy godmother a clipboard and a pen. She looks at us with scared eyes. I nudge Carlos and Jay and nod towards her. "Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?" fairy godmother says. "Mom, no!" she says with a scared voice. Jay and I smirk at each other. "It's okay. Jane, this is everyone." fairy godmother says as she hands the clipboard and pen back to Jane and turns her around so she is facing us. She has a frightened look on her face. Fairy godmother gives her a little push and she stumbles a few steps forward. "Hi." she says nervously. We don't say anything back, we just look at her. "That's okay, don't mind me, as you were." she says and she walks towards the door. Squealing again when she walks between our desks. "Well, hello Jane." I say softly with an evil smirk on my lips. I hold my fist out to Jay and he bumps it. Fairy godmother clears her throat. "Let's continue." she says. "You find a vial of poison!" she says loudly making some dramatic movement with her pointing stick. "Do you A, put it in the king's wine? B, paint it on an apple? Or C, turn it over to the proper authorities?" fairy godmother asks. The hands of Evie, Carlos, and Jay shut up in the air. Jay reaches his arm over me and pushes Carlos's arm down. "Get off!" Carlos says as he squirms under Jay's grip. "Jay." fairy godmother says. "C. You turn it over to the proper authorities." he says with a proud smile on his face as he let's go of Carlos's arm. "I was gonna say that." Carlos says as he smacks Jay's arm. "But I said it first! Come here!" Jay says as he reaches over and grabs Carlos's head. Jay yanks Carlos towards him and Carlos is laying on my lap now with his head in a headlock by Jay. Jay rubs his knuckles over Carlos's head. Carlos tries to get out of his grip and let's just say I don't really feel comfortable at the moment. "Guys!" I say. They ignore me. "Come on, who said it first? Who said it first?" Jay says as he continues to rub his knuckles on Carlos's head. They tumble onto the desk and I am just in time to avoid Carlos's foot, which is heading for my face. "Stop!" Carlos says. Fairy godmother ticks her pointing stick on the board. "Boys." she says. She continues ticking but they ignore here. "Guys!" I yell as I stand up. Jay turns his head towards me. "Let him go." I say, my eyebrows raised. Jay lets Carlos go and sits upright on the table. "I am going to encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field." she says as she points her stick towards a window. "Oh, no. That's okay. Whatever that is, We'll... We'll pass." Carlos says.

When remedial goodness 101 is finally over we have a short break, like the rest of the school, before our next lesson begins. And of course, we haven't got our next lesson together. They split us up. Evie has chemistry, Carlos history, Mal English, Jay economics, and I have math. We walk out of the school and onto the ground. I look up at the sky. It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the sky is blue. I've never seen a blue sky before. The reason for that is because there are hanging dark clouds above the Isle 24/7 so we never see the clear sky. We go to our lockers which are filled with all the books we will be needing for our classes. We each grab the books we needed for the next class, and then we decide to go for a walk to explore the grounds of the school a little. We just crossed the outside lunching area when someone calls for us. We turn around and Ben and another guy are walking towards us. The other guy has black hair and brown eyes. He is wearing a grey blazer with a white button-up and a black dotted tie. Beneath that he just wears blue jeans and black shoes. "Hey." I say as they stop in front of us. "Hey, guys. I want you to meet someone. This is Connor." Ben says as he points at the guy. "My best friend and my royal adviser." he continues. "Hello. It's nice to finally meet you all. I am the son of the Mad Hatter." he says. He steps towards us and shakes each of our hands and we introduce ourselfs. Lastly he shakes Mal's hand. They stop shaking but don't release their hands. I look at them, they are staring at each other. I clear my throat. "Uh...right." he says and he lets go of Mal's hand and takes a step back so he stands next to Ben again. "Ben and I came up with the idea together to bring some villain kids here." he says. "Yeah, he helped me convince my parents. And helped me plan everything. It was a shame he couldn't be there." Ben says. "Oh, why is that?" Mal asks. "I had to take care of some stuff at home." Connor says awkwardly as he puts his hand in his neck. "In Wonderland?" Mal asks. "Yeah." he says. Then the bell rings, signaling that the next class starts in five minutes. "Well, see you later." I say and I walk towards my math class. After all the classes have ended we meet at the outside lunch area. I am the last one to arrive. "So how was your day?" Jay asks me when I join them. "It sucked. How was your day?" I ask him. "Same." he says. "Hey, Carlos, Jay." a voice yells. I turn around and see Ben walking towards us. "Fairy godmother told me that you guys wanted to try out for the tourney team." he says. "Uh..." Carlos says. "Well, what are you waiting for, follow me." he says. "No, I don't want to go." Carlos says, but it is to late, Jay is already dragging Carlos with him. "Come on girls, let's watch them." I say to Mal and Evie. "Do we have to. I don't really wanna watch to their stupid game." Mal says. I look at her. "I have a plan Mal." I say. "Really?" she asks. "Yes." I say. She opens her mouth to speak again but I hold up my finger before she can say anything. "And I will tell you the plan, but I am not in the mood to explain it twice. So if you will go with us to the tourney field I will explain it to all of you when Jay and Carlos are finished." I say. "Ugh. Fine." Mal says and we walk after Ben, Jay, and Carlos. When we arrive Jay and Carlos have already changed into tourney clothes. There are a few people sitting on the bleachers, reading a book, studying, or just simply watching. We pick the top left corner and sit down. Mal grabs her mothers spellbook out of her bag and starts to read it. Evie grabs a textbook and a notebook and starts making her homework. I frown. Who would've thought that Evie, the one that is really good at sewing and cooking and cleaning, would actually be sitting here and making her homework? I forgot my book in my locker so I just sit and watch the training.
The coach blows on his whistle. "Jay, Ben, offense. Chad, you're defense. Connor, you're the shooter." the coach yells at the kids in the field. "Hey. Hey! Hey, you. Lost boy!" the coach yells at Carlos. I smile. He's right, Carlos looks a bit lost. He's never played this game before so he must be confused as hell. Carlos looks at the coach. "Put your helmet on. Get out of the Kill Zone! Come on." the coach yells at him. Carlos tries to put on his helmet with his free hand since the other hand is holding on to some kind of stick and a shield. Carlos walks out of what I think must be the Kill Zone. It's this red and white striped piece of grass that runs over the entire width of the field but only over a small piece of the length. The coach blows his whistle again and the game begins. The boys start running and passing each other the ball and the cheerleaders start cheering. Jay rams the first person he encounters and the boy falls onto the ground. Then he rams another boy who was running with the ball to the ground and runs through the kill zone dodging these arrows? I don't know what they are but a boy is shooting them out of some kind of canon. Jay dodges all of them and passes the ball to someone else as he runs out of the Kill Zone. He throws another person to the side and gets the ball. Carlos is standing in front of Jay know and he seems frightened. Jay makes some feints and Carlos throws his stick at him and holds up his shield. Jay shoots the ball against the shield and starts running towards Carlos. Carlos falls to the ground and puts the shield on top of his body. Jay runs towards Carlos and puts one of his feet on the shield. Then he takes a jump of the shield and runs towards the ball. But he isn't the only one that's going for the ball. Another person from his team runs for the ball as well and just before any of them can reach the ball they crash into each other. Jay falls onto one knee, while the other person crashes to the ground. Jay quickly recovers and spins on his knee with the ball on his stick. Then he pushes the ball up into the air with the stick and as it comes down he strikes the ball and it goes into the goal. The cheerleaders go wild and the people that were sitting on the bleachers watching stand up and clap and cheer with the cheerleaders. Jay runs for the goalkeeper, but he quickly rolls aside. Jay throws his helmet onto the ground and does some kind of breakdance move and starts cheering. I laugh. He looks ridiculous. The coach blows his whistle. "You! Get over here!" he yells at Jay. The whole team walks over to the coach and he says something to Jay, pats him on the shoulder and then he turns towards Carlos and says something to him. "Let's run that again." the coach says and blows his whistle again. Jay turns around and a guy with curly blond hair stands in front of him. Jay bumps his shoulder into him and the guy tries to look though but when Jay jogs away he crimps down and grabs his shoulder. They continue with the training and after a while of sitting my but starts to hurt. Yeez, they couldn't have made these wooden benches more comfortable? So I stand up and lean against the iron railing that's at the back of the bleachers. I tilt my head backward and stand like that for a while, enjoying the sun that hits my face. Then the coach blows his whistle. Again. I am starting to think the guy loves that whistle, he uses it so often. "Practise is over." the coach yells. I look at the field and see the guys sigh and take off their helmet. "Come on, they're done." I say. Mal and Evie put their books back into their bags and we walk down the steps and onto the field. "You guys did great!" I say as I hold up both of my hands and they each give me a high five. "Oew, you guys are sweaty." I say as I wipe my hands, with their sweat on it, on my pants. "You think our hands are sweaty?" Jay asks. "Yeah." I say. Carlos looks at Jay and Jay looks at him, a smirk forms on their faces. They look back at me. "Well, then how about we give you a hug?" Carlos asks. My eyes widen and I start to run away. They spread their arms and run after me. Even tho they just finished running around this field and their tired they still catch up to me very quickly. "No!" I yell as Jay comes on my right and presses his body against mine. A second later Carlos is standing at my left side. His body pressed to mine. "No, you guys, please let me go." I say as I try to get out of their grip. I am not mad at them. Oh, no, on the contrary, I am laughing really hard. I give up, knowing that I can't get out of their grip because they are too strong. I look around and see that a few people are looking at us with a confused expression on their faces. My eyes fall on Ben. He's also looking at us but instead of having a confused look on his face he is smiling at me so I smile back.
"Can you guys stop know so Kara can tell us the plan?" an irritated Mal asks form behind me. They release me and I turn around and see Evie and Mal standing next to each other, looking at us. "What plan?" Jay asks. "I would like to know that myself so Kara get on with it." Mal says crossing her arms. "Well, I think I know how we could get close to the fairy godmother's wand." I say. "How?" Evie asks. "Jane." I say.
