The house looked a lot better on the inside than on the outside. The walls in the hall were painted a bright white and were immaculate. The light brown vinyl in the hallway went really well with the walls.
All up and down the hall were pics of the family. One was of Wilbur, Techno, and Phil at the beach holding ice cream cones, another was of Tommy and Tubbo up a tree with their arms around each other.
I walked into the living room and was stunned. There was a massive corner sofa in the living room, in front of the corner sofa was a coffee table with a bunch of mugs lying on it and then up on the wall was a HUGEEE Tv. 70 inches, I think it was. There was a sideboard with a neon sign on it and an Alexa sitting on top. Also, on the sideboard, there were more photos. Everything seemed nice so far.
I walked to the kitchen, and it was massive. There was a big glass dining table beside the back door and an americain style fridge freezer in the opposite corner. There was a washing machine, a dryer, a dishwasher, a kettle, a microwave, just everything you'd expect in a kitchen. The counter tops were really clean, and the cupboards were neatly organised.
Phil then showed me upstairs. The hallway had a soft grey carpet, which felt ace on my feet.
The first door we came to was Techno's room. Phil said that Techno was inside it, and it was best not to disturb him. I said ok and we went to the next door, which had a cartoon like sign on the door saying Tommy and Tubbos room. There was a bunch of drawings blu tacked to the door which I thought was cute. Tommy and Tubbo were out in the garden, so Phil let me see inside.
I was amazed. There are bunk beds diagonally opposite the door with boxes of various toy vehicles underneath. There was a huge wooden train set lying set up in the middle of the room, and there were photos and drawings all over the walls, and the walls were painted a bright, vivid red. There was a huge chest of drawers opposite the bunk beds and a smart TV lay on top of it. There was a car map carpet thing lying to the right of the door and a window right at the back of the room, which had a terrific view of the massive back garden.
"Like it?" Phil said with a smile.
"Yeah, definitely. I can see you treat the boys well."
I didn't know if that was the right or wrong thing to say, but Phil didn't say anything after I said it. He closed the door to Tommy and Tubbos' room and took me to the next door.
Phils room. One wall was painted emerald green and the rest of the walls white. There was a built-in double wardrobe and a massive unit with a TV across from the bed. There was kind of a divider thing on the other side of the room, and Phil told me that behind the divider was his office. I managed to catch a glimpse and could see it had a coal fireplace and a desk with paper scattered all over from all of us he fostered. There was also a spinny chair sitting at his desk. His room would pass as a hotel room.
We moved to the next door.
Wilbur's room. Phil let me peek inside. I could see various instruments like there was a guitar, a ukulele, and a keyboard. I couldn't see the walls because of the amount of band posters Wilbur had up. They literally covered his whole room. There was a desk with about 5 notebooks on it, pens and various bits of paper were scattered all over the desk and all over his floor. There was a double bed up in the corner, and on the wall beside the door, there was another desk, but this time, it had a gaming setup on it. A PC, monitor, keyboard, gaming chair the lot. Wilbur's room was by far the coolest.
We moved to the next door.
"And heres your room," Phil said, opening the door with a flourish."It even has a lock on it."
"Wait, I have a room, like my own room, no one else, with a lock???"
At my other foster homes, I usually either got shoved in a cupboard with a mattress or got shoved in a cramped room with like 5 other kids with only 2 beds in the room. In the orphanage, I had my own room, but we weren’t allowed locks or even as much as a TV inside.
"Yeah, mate, everyone deserves privacy in their own home."
"Thank you Phil you have no idea how much I appreciate it."
I looked inside the room. It was gigantic. It was like 2× the size of my room at the orphanage. The walls were painted a dark grey, and I had a double bed with matching grey becovers and a stuffed Teddy bear lying on one of the pillows. On the wall across, there was a TV with a shelf underneath with an xbox. There was a window beside my bed which had a view out the front of the house. The curtains were white, grey, and blue stripes. There was a white beanbag planted in the middle of the room, which I thought was a nice touch. Across from my bed was a double built in wardrobe. I went to go look inside, and there was my school uniform hanging up and then a box of teddies lying in the corner. I scoffed at the sight of my school uniform.
"I knew you liked playing xbox, so I got you an xbox. There's already Minecraft installed, but if there's any other games you want, you just have to ask."
"Phil, you didn't have to get me an xbox. Just the fact I have my own room is good enough for me."
"I wanted you to feel comfortable."
"Thanks, Phil." I wanted to give him a hug but didn't want him to think I was getting attached too quickly. Phil said to me that the door next to my room was the bathroom, and I had a look inside. It was just an average sized bathroom, and I looked at how a bathroom normally would.
"I'll leave you to get settled. I'll be in my room if you need me for anything. Feel free to get food, water, or to go speak to the boys."
I gave him a massive grin as he went out and shut the door.
