Chapter 13: Rosemary

"Looks like we'll have to fight our way through this." Nico said, pulling out his sword.

"Be careful."

"You, too." Nico glanced at the Lotus-Eaters. "Hey, is that everyone?"

The Lotus-Eater in the front smiled devilishly. "It is. All of us are here, and you will not take our beloved guests. Once we kill you, we will take everyone back from that vehicle of yours."

"Are you guys, like, the last Lotus-Eaters?"

Another one frowned. "The rest of our kind has been forgotten."

"So that's a yes, then. Thanks for the information."

The one in the front's smile faded. "What do you mean?"

"You don't have enough time to find out."

Nico ran forward and stabbed one of them, and the monster turned to dust. That's when everything turned to chaos.

Nico looked around, and he noticed about twenty. He could handle twenty.

As he sliced a monster through the gut that was running toward him, he saw Will dust a couple.

Nico could smell the Lotus in the air as he fought, and it made his movements slower.

Nico ran his sword through a couple that were lined up one after the other, and they disintegrated into dust. Nico smiled. These guys were screwed.

As he was about to stab another Lotus-Eater, he was propelled to the side by one that had snuck up on him.

Nico hit the ground with a bang. He heard his sword clatter to the ground next to him.

He quickly got up and dusted the one that had hit him. He kept on slicing and stabbing, and soon they were all gone.

After all of the Lotus-Eaters were gone, Nico walked over to Will. Will had a cut on the side of his face, but besides that he looked unharmed.

"See, not very strong." Nico said, wiping the blood off of Will's face.

Will frowned. "Don't touch other people's blood."

Nico rolled his eyes. "I know, you already told me about all of that stuff. It's you, so it's different."

"Fine. But don't touch anyone else's blood, okay? Alright, where do you think Rosemary is at?" Will asked.

"Let's check upstairs." Nico and Will walked up the stairs, and in about five minutes, Nico saw a small girl in the distance.

Nico looked at Will. "I think that's her."

Will smiled. "Well, let's go get her, then."

Nico walked towards her while Will followed a bit behind. Nico reached the girl, and it was her. She looked exactly the same as she did in his dream, all the way to her outfit.

Nico knelt down to her height, and he spoke softly. "Hey there, Rosie."

She didn't look up from her game. "Why do you sound different, Neeks? And why haven't you talked to me in days?"

Nico looked at a clock on the wall. The time read 12:37. "Hey, it's lunch time."

"Already? But I have one more level until I get to the next stage...."

"I'm sure you're hungry."

"Okay." She paused her game and looked up at Nico. Her eyes widened. "Nico? Is that you?"
