Will stared at her in shock like everyone else. Rosemary just stood there trying to look at the symbol above her head, but it was already fading fast.
Rosemary was a daughter of Apollo. That meant she was his sister.
They ended up not having a sing-along that night.
While they were filing out, Nico ran up to Will and Rosemary.
"Looks like you have another sibling." Nico said.
"I guess so. I think that's pretty cool, actually."
"Wait, what happened? The horse guy called me a daughter of Apollo. Is that my god parent?" She asked.
Will bent down to her height. "Yep! A child of the sun god! Like me! Do you know what that means? You're my little sister!" Will told her.
She squealed. "Willy's my big brother!" She hugged him.
Will laughed. "Yep."
"But that means that Nico isn't my big brother." She said sadly.
"That's okay! You can still be his friend!"
"Okay. I'm still glad I get to be your sister, though!"
"You do not want to be a child of Hades." Nico added darkly. "And I know dad agrees. He knows what a burden it is."
Will, Nico, Rosemary, Kayla and Austin all went back to the Apollo cabin after picking up Rosemary's clothes from the Hermes cabin.
"It was nice getting to spend time with you, Rosemary. I'll see you around camp, okay?" Cecil told her before she left.
Once they were inside the Apollo cabin, Rosemary asked, "So this is where I'll stay?"
"Yeah!" Kayla told her.
"This place is so cool!" She exclaimed.
"Where do you want to sleep, Rosemary?" Will asked.
"Closest to the door, and nothing that faces away from it."
"Closest to the door? Why?"
She frowned. "I don't really know."
"Well, that's okay. You can sleep closest to the door if you want to. And don't worry, we have a night light."
"Okay!"
Will told her where to put her stuff, and told her a bit about the Apollo cabin and about Apollo himself. He tried to keep to the basics, because she was so young and she might not be able to hold onto that much information yet. She did seem pretty interested, though.
After he was done explaining everything to her, she went off to go talk to Austin and Kayla.
"I still can't believe she's your sister." Nico said, shaking his head.
"Me, neither. I would never have guessed that if she didn't start singing like an angel."
"I couldn't hear her because there were multiple people singing, but I was really shocked when I saw the sun appear above her head. I was thinking, 'Why do Apollo kids want to hang out with me so much?'"
Will laughed. "I've seriously never met one of my siblings when they were 6. I'm surprised she was even claimed this young."
"Yeah. But how was she claimed?"
Will thought about that. "I actually haven't thought about that. Good point. How can dad claim anyone when he isn't even a god?"
"Well, there are other things that still go on without your father's godly presence. Like, the sun coming up and going down each day. That's supposed to be Apollo's job, yet that doesn't stop it from happening." Nico guessed.
Will sighed. "I wonder what he's up to right now. Do you think he's still with Leo and Calypso?"
"Not realistically. Leo is really annoying. I wouldn't be able to last an hour being alone with him."
"Well, he's got the literal titan Calypso to mellow him out."
"Still annoying."
"I'm always thinking about where my dad could be, and if he's okay."
"That's kind of funny, because he's your dad, but you're acting like you're his dad." Then he paused. "Will, I would know if he died. He's not dead, okay? I'll tell you if anything changes, but I'm sure he'll be fine."
"You said there was an aura of death surrounding him."
"I meant as in he has the possibility to die, not that he's going to."
Will smiled. "You know the good thing that came out of all this, though?"
"What?"
"That he got to meet you. I really wanted him to, and he did."
"He already had met me before, remember?"
"Yeah, but I meant as in he got to meet you when we're actually together. He liked you."
"Pfft. As if. The only god that likes me is my dad, and that was only after years of being around him."
"No, I think he liked the contrast. The one that everybody talks about."
"You think?"
"I don't think; I know."
"Stop being cheesy. I'm going to bed."
"Like you'll actually be able to fall asleep by 9 o'clock." Will laughed. "That's the best joke I've heard all day."
"Maybe I'm not going to sleep. Maybe I'll read for a while."
"Since when did you read?!"
"Since I've been a child from 1930's Italy. Dyslexia or not, I've been reading since I was little."
"I've never seen you read before."
"I literally read all the time in my cabin. Books in Greek. The second I go back to my cabin, I'm probably going to go straight to reading."
Will grinned.
"What?"
Will giggled.
"What?!"
"'Straight.'"
Nico rolled his eyes. "Go to bed, Will. You're getting loopy."
"It was a pretty long day. As soon as Rosemary gets situated, I'll go to bed." He kissed Nico on the forehead. "Goodnight."
