I decided to go on a walk after the festival. Most of my classmates went back to the dorms after showering but I wanted to watch the sunset somewhere. The hot water felt nice on my sore muscles, but now I needed something for my mind.
I came across this building where I thought I could watch the sky on.
I do NOT have the energy to jump all the way up there. Maybe I should just break down a door somewhere and take the stairs...
"I can't believe that worked..." I said to myself after successfully doing so.
Then I saw a familiar ash blonde head.
"Kacchan? Is that you?"
He turned around to see me smiling.
"Are you following me now?" he said and scoffed.
"No, just wanted to watch the sunset. It's been a long day with the sports festival and all. Congratulations by the way!" I went and sat next to him, legs dangling over the edge.
"Whatever."
For a few minutes we just sat there, watching the suns orange colour over the sky. I giggled a bit at the thought of this actually happening right now, like I hadn't known him my whole life.
"What's so funny?" he looked me dead in the eyes.
"It's just weird. You're usually such a hothead and now I find you watching a sunset on a rooftop. Maybe there's more to you than being angry all the time." I smiled and closed my eyes, enjoying the suns heat on my face.
"Shut up! I like it here. It... calms me." he closed his eyes as well, leaning back a little.
And then it was quiet again, just the two of us enjoying this moment of peace. Like we both wanted and needed.
"It's beautiful." I leaned my head on his shoulder.
Going back to the corner, where I first saw you...
I accidentally let out a small giggle again, making him irritated once more.
"Come on! Would you just shut up?" he said and pushed me off his shoulder.
"I'm sorry! I feel like I've heard about this before." I laughed even more. He didn't even answer, just closed his eyes as angrily as usual.
"It's just in, you know that song? If one day you wake up and find that you're missing me." I nudged his arm, waiting for him to continue.
"I'm not going to sing a stupid song!"
"Come on! Pleaaaaase?"
He sighed in defeat before continuing the song.
"And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be." he sang quietly.
"Wow Kacchan, you can sing too? Impressive." I teased, slightly kicking his legs.
"Shut up!" he flicked my head and I laughed before continuing.
"Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet... But I'm a way better singer!"
"Tch, no you're not!" he had his hand up as if he was going to blast me. But I didn't move, just laughed. Like he hasn't done this a thousand times before.
"Then prove it." I smirked and looked him in the eye as he was refusing to look back at me.
"And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street."
I turned his head around by his chin, making our eyes meet and the two of us sang together now.
"So I'm not moving, I'm not moving."
