Chapter 14

"Why this line won't move?" I hit the steering wheel and brushed a hand over my face.

"Is it that bad living with her?" Jay asked me from the passenger seat.

We were currently in the drive-thru of Starbucks hoping to cure the headache I currently have right now.

"I'm doing this for Geovoni and he owes me"

"Yeah, I can tell. Kayla ain't exactly compatible for both of us" Jay rolled her eyes.

"Who knew Kayla was this stressing? She took like 2 hours in the shower this morning and almost made me late for class"

"We could go shopping at Lenox Square after we get Starbucks. My treat"

"Thanks, girl I'm so glad to get out of that apartment." I let out a sigh of relief.

"Why's she staying there anyways?"

"I wasn't listening and I don't care. She'll be gone by winter break."

The lady handed me the drink from the window and I paid for it.

"3 months to go," Jay said.

"Don't remind me" I rolled my eyes and drove off.

"This Pink Chiffon body lotion smells heavenly" I put it up to my nose as Jay and I walked out of Bath and Body Works.

"One of my favs too" Jay commented.

"Let's go to Victoria Secret," I said and Jay nodded her head.

We parted ways when we walked into the store and I came across this cute red lace bra but it was hella pricy.

$75 for 1 bra!!

"Why these damn things gotta cost this much?" I muttered under my breath and put the bra back down.

"Don't look at the price tag just buy if you want it" a voice said and I turn my head to see a tall dark skinned nigga in a navy suit approaching me. He looked very sharp with a crisp hairline and beard.

"And who are you?" I looked him up and down.

"RaShawn" he held out his hand for me to shake.

"RaShawn don't you have a girlfriend to tend to" I looked at his hands that had a bunch of underwear in them.

He looked down at the bunch of underwear in his hands. "Oh no these are for my little sister. I'm single"

"Oh," I cleared my throat. It felt kinda embarrassing standing in front of him after I misread him so I turned around to go find Jay in the store.

"Wait!" RaShawn called out to me.

I turned back around and gave him a skeptical look.

What does he want from me?

"Why don't I buy you this bra?" he held up the bra I previously put down.

"Oh no it's okay" I shook my head.

"I insist"

"No really it's okay" I reassured him.

"You won't have to pay me back or anything. It's just one bra and I've paid things extremely pricier than it"

I hesitated before I agreed and nodded my head. "Okay"

We headed up to the cashier and paid for the stuff just as I saw Jay in sight. I took the bag from RaShawn.

"Thanks for the purchase"

"No problem and it was nice meeting you" he smiled.

"You too but I have to go meet up with my best friend right now," I told him and he nodded his head.
