Satori yet again (part 1) ☑️

A knock on the door raised Mitch's head from the files. Todrick peaked in. "I know I said no cases, but the one is somehow back. I even looked through the files myself to see if there was something that would explain it, but there was nothing. I have no idea how that man can even do much." He said and put the files on the table.

Mitch's brain took a moment to catch up on what Todrick was saying. "Wait what? Is that man on a personal mission against me and the doctor?" He rubbed his eyes.

"I'm sorry." Todrick said and smiled sadly. "Lori should be here in about 20 minutes, but don't forget the lunch break like the last time she was here." He laughed and closed the door.

Mitch kept working as one does when at work, not bothering with time. His attention went back to the door after a knock about 15 minutes since they were closed as Todrick was leaving. "Come in." He called without looking up as he was finishing yet another file.

Lori walked in. "Hello. Your boss called that I need to come, so here I am." She sat down, not really knowing what was going on.

"Well, our common friend is trying to destroy everything good in our lives including the good moods we get when doing what we love to do." Mitch said and finally took the file that Todrick brought.

Lori's eyes widened. "Why? He was quiet for the past like 3 or 4 years." She leaned back on the chair and sighed.

"Basically since I was put in jail for something I didn't do." Mitch smiled sarcastically.

Lori nodded. "Oh, I completely forgot."

Mitch waved it off. "You have a lot of people to take care of and remember everything about. I'm not on that list. You don't need to know or remember what's happening to me. There's no need to add to a plate that is already full." He smiled and they started working.

They didn't realize the time and Mitch missed his lunch break again. They figured that one out when Mitch's stomach decided for a singing performance. "You missed your break, didn't you?" Lori gave him a look.

Then messages came in and his phone lit up:
Your lunch should be behind the door shortly :)
You're going to forget your head somewhere :P

"Kimy has a camera in my room." Mitch chuckled. Then a knock came on the door. "I should put the door down. There's always someone knocking on it." He walked to it with a chuckle and opened it.

"Kimy brought you lunch because you decided to starve today. Allegedly not for the first time, rumors say." Aaron gave him a look. He looked in. "I thought Todrick said no clients for a while."

Mitch nodded. "He did, but this case is like a boomerang. I have to deal with this for the 3rd time now. This man is very annoying." He sighed and took the food. "Thanks. I'll come to get you when I'll go home." He gave him a quick kiss and Aaron went back down to the entrance to the building.

Mitch returned to his table and opened the box (reusable one). "I'm guessing that's the boyfriend that Kimy told me about couple months ago."

Mitch smiled and nodded. "Aaron."

"I like that name. My cousin's name is Aaron." She pointed out. "He's super nice, so I'm guessing yours is too."

"You wouldn't believe. He's a sweetheart." He smiled like a little goofball. "Back to work, I don't want to keep you for too long." They finished shortly before Todrick came to check up on his assistant. "Hey, boss." Mitch smiled from behind his table.

"Hey. Just wanted to ask if I have anything in my morning schedule." He smiled at the doctor who just took her purse.

Mitch opened the correct file and shook his head. "Unless some emergency pops up, you're free until 2pm." He looked at the boss.
