Chapter 30:

---

After Lie Ren is reported to have fully healed up in the house of healing, Blitz went aboard the Kriegsmaschine, along with hundreds of his men, and set out to rendezvous with the other ferry ships that are told are at a safe distance away from Tsaringrad itself.

It will take a few hours for them to conglomerate their forces, and unite the three ships to commence boarding, so Blitz decided to use this free time to discuss war plans.

They used the observation deck as a discussion room – using a long table taken from the dining area of the ship's bridge to place the map Varus bought.

They spread the map all over the top of the table and held it down using paperweights and books and manuals. After which, Blitz gathered the officers present in his current unit, as well as his trusted adviser—Varus, and the two assassins—Philip and Lie Ren. Hilacrius is not present in this meeting, as Blitz ordered him to take charge of their puppet city of Kalinatrov.

Not like he'd go anyway, even if Blitz demands his appearance.

Blitz: "Alright, so here's what we know about Tsaringrad. Based on the extended reports Varus have, Tsaringrad is Belaursus' regional capital, so it's no joke the security will be tight and strong. Not to worry, folks, as our forces are much stronger. It's also an urban type of city, but there is just a large gap in the middle of the city which is filled with fields. Either for farming or other recreational purposes, there are no ports or docking areas our forces can board on the middle, so we may have to dock our ships at the bow."

*Blitz draws a circle around the bow part of the ship, where it shows a large city with many stadiums, casinos, libraries, or theatres present: making up most of the space in there.*

Philip: "Quite a lot of big squares in Tsaringrad."

Blitz: "I've been in that city before; the people of Tsaringrad are nuts when it comes to their arena fights and theatre plays. There are also museums, libraries, art galleries, and universities, the likes of which we may probably use soon."

Lie: "Oh, sure, let's taint the minds of the youth. As if we can't get any more worse than that."

Varus: "If we are gonna focus on education at some point, can I volunteer to be a teacher for aspiring casters?"

Philip: "No offense, bird-brain, but I don't think you can teach fire arts to someone with a different elemental...prowess...thing... Yeah..."

Varus: "For your information, Philip, any monkey can learn how to heat their cup of coffee, even if they already have a current art, fire magic is the most easily trainable art!"

Philip: "What the hell is a monkey?"

Blitz: "Enough, you two. It's undecided yet, and there will be a chance we may not use the universities or schools at all, considering we're just gonna evict almost everyone there to prevent an uprising. After we take it over, of course. I know I'm contradicting myself, but call it a second opinion, if you will.

"Now, to continue: docking at the bridge may sound like the most sensible thing to do, but landing on a heavily fortified beach... You're inviting failure, I promise you that. The bridge and the cities surrounding or are around the bridge will be heavily fortified, and heavily guarded. We should start off small by attacking this culture spot in a three-pronged attack, and we all meet at the middle in this arena."
