Taehyun and Yeonjun had spent another three hours at Daisy talking with Soobin and Jaemin. In between, Kai had also shown up, saying that he was going to stay longer and pull an all-nighter. From Beomgyu, Taehyun knew that he was going to spend the night with a guy named Hanse. So for now, the couple was back to Yeonjun's apartment alone.
He stood behind the Choi as he typed in the door code, and as the door swung open, a faint glimmer of light shone out at them. Briefly, the two exchanged a questioning glance before Yeonjun was the first to enter the apartment, but when Taehyun followed, it was obvious what the glimmer meant. On the dining table were two oblong white candles, flanking a large vase containing tulips of different colors. Everything seemed to have happened in a hurry, because apart from the occasional blades of grass that were next to the vase, the flowers had not received any water either.
Taehyun approached the table and reached for it.
"Well, you certainly didn't do that," he said, knowing that Yeonjun wouldn't let a poor little plant die of thirst.
Yeonjun's gaze slid to the blades of grass before he fished out one of the tulips and noticed that it had probably sadly just been ripped out, some soil still clinging to it. "Machinations of horror," he commented, glancing at the sofa where there were a few more pillows and a blanket. There were also snacks spread out on the small table, as not all of them had made it into the bowl. "Beomgyu," he finally grumbled at the sight of this romantic little mess. Shaking his head, he turned back to the brown-haired man who was still looking at the tulips and actually wanted to flick on the light, but didn't.
"So this is a crime scene?" the Kang chuckled softly, walking into the kitchen with the vase and filling it with water. "I'm sure he just wanted to apologize," Taehyun said conciliatorily, but still wondered about the effort the black-haired man had gone to in the middle of the night, even though it was said that this one was sleeping at some guy's place - possibly sleeping with him, too. "I'm sure it wasn't his intention to murder flowers in the process."
"Accidental murder is also murder," Yeonjun remarked, brushing his shoes off his feet and hanging his jacket in the coat rack. "Why does he come here after going out to ... do something like this? He really has too much energy."
