With long strides, Yeonjun went after his best friend, pushing his way through all the groups of friends, when he saw the black-haired man slip out the front door. Trying to catch up with him, Yeonjun ran the last few steps, yanked open the heavy front door, and called out to Beomgyu, but he didn't even think to turn around, even though it had been Yeonjun's voice. His heart was racing and he didn't know what to do or what not to do. He merely knew that he couldn't just leave this up in the air. He had to talk to Beomgyu, even if it was hard for him.
"Choi Beomgyu!" he shouted loudly, watching him cross the street and sighing before getting his long legs moving.
When he finally caught up with Beomgyu, walking behind him out of breath while the younger man had his head down, Yeonjun kept saying his best friend's name. He couldn't just let him go, not after all they had been through together.
He didn't want this thing to come between them.
It dominated.
"Stop right there," Yeonjun growled seriously, his voice incredibly engaging, "please!"
When all this was of no use, he grabbed the wrist of the now 25-year-old and turned him around to face him with a jerk, but Yeonjun could not look him in the eye.
He was ashamed and it showed.
Automatically, Beomgyu freed himself from the grip, already knowing it had been a mistake to have said anything, but Yeonjun being here was pure poison to his relationship with Taehyun.
He didn't want to make it worse.
"Go, you shouldn't be here! Go back!" It also didn't matter whether Yeonjun had anything to say about the speech or not. Even if it actually concerned him, because Beomgyu didn't need an extra shot in the knee. "It doesn't matter what you have to say. I already know. I'm not Soobin, okay!!!" he snapped.
"Stop it!" hissed Yeonjun, his eyebrows drawn together in exasperation. "I can't go back there and act like nothing ever happened!"
Yeonjun swallowed hard; he hadn't had time to let all that had been said sink in first.
