Just like you I adored the Harry Potter novels until I got to the end. I was devastated by Severus's ending. (so much so i have only read the last book one time) Like him I grew up in an abusive home and was bullied as a child and teenager.
I needed him to have a happy ending. Our trauma doesn't need to define us and our survival is a badge of courage.
In my mind, Albus would have tried to help Severus just as he did with Harry. He was the greatest wizard ever right?
I hope you enjoyed this little labor of love. It is the first thing I have ever published so I expect that it isn't perfect to anyone that has read it.
Some of the story I borrowed from another fantasy piece I am working on, mostly the soul magic.
