24. Don't Skip School

Date: February 7th

"You wanna drive or should I?" Taehyun asked. Beomgyu shrugged with a grumpy look on his face and Taehyun sighed.

Beomgyu felt bad. That's why he was moody yesterday, and it didn't help that today, they had school and it was sprinkling in the most obnoxious way.

"I'll drive your car, okay?" Taehyun asked. Beomgyu nodded without saying anything and got in the passenger's seat, waiting for Taehyun to start the car before putting his hands in front of the vent.

"Ah! Why is it so cold?!" He yelled, pulling his hands away.

"You have to wait for the heat to come on..." Beomgyu sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Please... please don't do that."

"What? Keep myself from being cold? You want me to freeze to death? Is that it?"

"What the fuck is your problem?!" Taehyun asked, making Beomgyu whimper before looking out the window with an obvious attitude.

"Nothing! God!"

He didn't face Taehyun and the boy knew something was wrong. "Beomgyu-"

"You cussed at me..." Taehyun sighed. "And you yelled at me... and now I'm just sad..."

Was he pregnant or something?

There were so many different assumptions of what was going on in Taehyun's head, but that one was both impossible and made sense at the same time.

"Aren't you gonna say something?"

"What do you want me to say?" Taehyun asked. "I love you, Beomgyu. And I hope whatever is going on with you passes. But I'm not apologizing to you. Yes, I would mean the apology. I shouldn't have yelled at you. But you shouldn't have yelled at me either."

Beomgyu just continued staring out the window and Taehyun finally started driving to school, irritated since they were going to be late now. He was tired of always being the one to apologize, meaning he was admitting he was in the wrong when he really wasn't.

When they stopped at a red light, Beomgyu looked overwhelmed and got out of the car, making Taehyun's eyes widen. "What the-" he quickly pulled over to park and got out of the car. "Beomgyu, what the hell?!" Beomgyu continued walking down the street and Taehyun ran up to him to grab his arm. "Stop!"

"I'm walking to school!" Beomgyu yelled, yanking his arm away. "Leave me alone!"

"What..." Taehyun sighed and brushed his wet bangs out of his face. "What happened?" Beomgyu rapidly shook his head and Taehyun pulled him into a hug, now worried since the boy was crying. "Please tell me what's wrong."

"I can't," Beomgyu kept shaking his head.

"Shh," Taehyun whispered, trying to calm him down. "It's okay. It's okay."

"It was just a really bad weekend." He whimpered and covered his face with his hands.

Taehyun sighed and gently led Beomgyu back to the car before getting inside himself. Without saying anything, he turned around in the opposite direction of the school and Beomgyu looked at him in confusion.

"Where are we going?"

"To the waterfall."

Beomgyu's eyes widened. "I forgot about that." Taehyun chuckled and continued driving until they reached the woods. Beomgyu was still moody when they got there. "It's raining..."

"I know..." Taehyun said, turning the heat in the car up higher. "We'll wait for it to stop raining."

It was kind of strange though. Taehyun was working at having good attendance at school, but now he was throwing it away? It made Beomgyu even sadder than he was.

"Don't skip school."

"I'm not-"

"Taehyun."

"Beomgyu."

Beomgyu looked at him sternly and Taehyun winced. "Don't be a smartass. Taehyun..." he turned in his seat to face him and pouted. "Don't skip school. Please."

"One day off isn't gonna do anything."

Beomgyu realized he wasn't gonna win and just slumped back into the seat, staring at the foggy windows while Taehyun turned the radio on. "Don't say I'm wrong, but this is all my fault. If none of that happeend on your birthday, then we wouldn't have been distant over the weekend and I wouldn't have been an asshole this morning."

"It's okay," Taehyun said. "Let's just forget it. Are you okay now?"

Thinking for a moment, Beomgyu nodded and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "I'm sorry for how I've been acting. I love you a lot."

"It's okay." Taehyun smiled softly and opened the window when he heard the rain stop. "Wanna get out?"

Beomgyu nodded and they both got out before walking to the waterfall.
