Kepa Arrizabalaga- Stuck in the friendzone

You had met Kepa at the after party of the champions league final when Chilly had abandoned you for his ex he saw on the dancefloor. You was annoyed at him because he would always ask you to be his date at parties or events but leave you once he found something or someone better but would sulk like a baby if you refused to attend with him.

-- Flashback to champion's league party --

Annoyed at Ben you decided to go sulk at the bar and forget about your amazing friend who abandons you for some whore who only wants Ben for his money but bens to blind to love to see it.

"You alright love?" A Spanish boy spoke to you while getting the attention of the man behind the bar and ordering another round for you both

"Yeah I'm fine thanks" You said, their was a long awkward silence between you both the bar man breaking up the silence by placing both your drinks on the mats

"That's £24 please" the barman said while looking at either on of you to see who was paying

I reached for my bag to pay but Kepa held my arm "Don't worry love my treat?"

"Here, you don't need to I can buy my own drink" I said while handing him a £10 note

"No need, might change your attitude" Kepa said while walking away

"Wait I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude, I didn't want to come to night but my friend convinced me to come and then abandoned me so I am just feeling sorry for myself."

"It's fine don't worry about it love enjoy your night " Kepa said while walking away

"Hello again" the Spanish boy spoke this time way more out of it and slurring his words

"Hey, having a good night?"

"si, tu"

"pardon" I said confused

"Sorry darling I have a habit of speaking Spanish when I am drunk" he laughed

"It's good, I'm Y/n"

"Kepa" he said while kissing my hand not taking his eyes off me

"So who left such a beautiful woman at the bar all alone" Kepa said taking a seat next you

"Ben, Ben Chilwell"

"Oh you know ben? He is one of my mates"

"Yeah we have been best friends since nursery, how do you know ben?"

"He is one of my teammates."

"Oh cool which position do you play" trying to sound like you knew football when in reality you knew nothing

"I'm the goalkeeper, well one of them."

That night you felt from bad to worse the alcohol it hitting you like a ton of breaks, you could barely stand but Kepa was their to hold you up and make sure you got home safe.

Ever since that night you both got extremely close but only as friends. You was both madly in love with each other, you had a very flirtatious friendship and from an outsider it looked like they was together. Even if they didn't confirm it they was very exclusive when the other went on dates jealousy took over. But when they got close to popping the question one of them would put the other in friendship zone.

You had been getting ready for a date with someone you met at work and the atmosphere was filled with anger and jealousy from Kepa

"What time the reservation?" "How you getting home?" "Need picking up, I would rather I-"

"Slow down keps just going out for drinks and I will be fine thankyou I'm a big girl"

"I know but I just worry I care about you"

"I know that's why I love you, you're my best friend."

"yeah okay" Kepa said those two words making his heart break just a little more

"Hey, you're home early?" Kepa said while pausing the match in the background

"Yeah he stood me up jerk"

"What a dick, come here we could order dominos and binge whatever you want"

"I'm ok I just want to go to bed but thankyou"

"Nope not taking it as an answer if you want to sulk you can do it here with me" Kepa said while picking you up and throwing you on the sofa next to him

"Okay then" you laughed at his assertiveness

"This may sound harsh but I am glad he stood you off I mean I wish he wasn't a dick about it but you deserve someone way better."

"Yeah well it was only a distraction because the guy I like doesn't like me back"

"Now who is stupid enough to not like you hm?" you faces millimetres apart from each other

You both leant in and kissed, kepa's hand found you cheek while holding your face in his hand, while yours found the nape of his neck

"I have been waiting for so long to do that" Kepa said with both foreheads leant against each other

"Me too"

"Y/n do you want to make this official? I can't stand the though of another day and you not being mine?"
