Sarah
------------
Kira, Lexi, and Ace were sitting on my bed laughing and joking with me while we waited for Tucker to get here. A day or so after I gave him my number, he called me and asked if I was free on the next Friday; I accepted, obviously
"Where do you think he'll take you?" Lexi asked, hanging her head of the edge of my bed
"I'm not sure. But if its a pub, Ace, I'm calling you to come save me." I grinned, glancing at her as I continued to curl my hair
"I'll be sure to wear my ass kickers." Ace laughed, flipping through a magazine I had lying around my room
"How do I look?" I questioned, turning to look at them. My hair was in loose curls, I'd chosen to go with light makeup and peach lip stain, and I was wearing a cream colored dress paired with brown ankle boots
"Forget Tucker, forget Steele, bitch you and I are lesbians!" Ace teased, fixing a curl
"I'll be sure to pass that along." I joked just as there was a knock on the door
"I'll get it!" Ace cheered, running down the stairs
"Grant residence." She drawled as she opened the door
"Ah, Miss Jobins. So lovely to see you again." Tucker joked, shaking his head
"Likewise Mr Mills. Please, do come in." She continued, stepping out of the way
"Thanks." He smiled
"Hey Tucker." I smiled as I walked into the entry hall
"Hey-woah." He trailed, his eyes running across my figure. Letting my eyes wander as well, I noticed the tighter fit dress pants, and the white dress shirt. The shirt was tucked in, the top buttons undone, and the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. His baseball cap was nowhere in sight, and his hair hung in his face slightly
"If you two are done eye raping each other, you need to leave." Kira grinned, pushing me out while Ace shoved Tucker
"Oh? And what are you lot doing?" I questioned as Lexi shut the door behind us
"I'm going over to Josh's to meet his parents." Lexi muttered. I'd wondered all evening why she was so dressed up
"River and I are going for coffee." Kira explained, digging her keys out of her purse
"Oh, and Ace? What are your plans?" I inquired, quirking my eyebrow up
"Steele and I are going to the pond. If you need anything I'll have my phone, and I'll bring Steele." She explained, giving a warning glance to Tucker
"Steele Grahms?" He asked, looking at her
"Yup, you know him?" She asked, bringing her keys from her hoodie pocket
"I've met him a couple times, great guy. You seem like his type of girl." Tucker smiled at her before holding his arm out towards me "but we better be going, Sarah. It was nice seeing you again Ace." He grinned, before leading me to his truck. It was a big red Dodge, honestly, the truck was almost as hot as he was
"So, what are we doing tonight?" I asked, sliding the seat belt across my torso
"We are going to 'River Rock' for supper, and then I was thinking go to the fair after. Perfectly cliche, don't you think?" He grinned. It was cliche, but honestly, it sounded fun
"Let's do this!" I cheered, throwing my fist in the air as he laughed.
----------------------------
He'd helped me out of the truck, he held the door open for me, he pulled out my chair, he was the most gentlemanly guy I'd ever gone out with
"Red or Green?" He asked as we waited for our food
"Green. But why those particular colors?" I asked, drinking my rum and coke
"Red usually means you mean towards a more assertive, almost aggressive persona, usually never staying around for too long, usually more decisive. Green, on the other hand, is a more relaxed, laid back persona. Usually more grounded, they like having options." He explained, sipping at the whiskey he'd ordered
"Really? All that from two colors?" I questioned, moving my arms off the table as the waiter sat our dishes down in front of us
"Yeah, my moms into all that aura, color stuff. You pick up on it after a while." He smiled
"That's amazing!" I grinned before starting to eat my food. The rest of the meal was fairly quiet, the odd joke or question being tossed into the air; it was nice. A while after, we finished our food, and he called for the check
"Put the wallet back," He ordered softly "I'm not letting you pay." He added, grinning
"But-" I started
"No." He told me firmly, but you could see the amusement in his eyes
"Fine." I sighed, putting my wallet back in my bag. He helped me to my feet before we made our way to the front desk, where he smiled at the hostess before paying
"You up for the fair?" He asked as he helped me into his truck
"Of course! Who can say no to the fair?!" I laughed as he grinned, shutting the door and running around the drivers side and jumping in. The drive to the fair was short, and filled with us singing along terribly to the radio
"Here we go." He muttered to himself as he rolled the big dodge into a parking space
"Let's go, let's go, let's go!" I cheered, opening my door and moving to jump out
"Its gravel, your dropping three feet, and you're wearing heels. Do you think jumpings the best idea?" Tucker asked as he gently grabbed my arm, stopping me. I thought about it for a second
"Point taken." I mumbled, glancing up at him. With a grin, he got out and jogged around the front of the truck and helped me down "just so you know, if I weren't in heels, I would have been more than capable of getting out myself." I told him as he sat me on my feet
"Dually noted." He smiled, stepping back and shutting the door before leading me towards the fair.
-----------------------------
Two hours later, we pulled into my driveway
"That was honestly the most fun I've ever had." I laughed as he helped me out of his truck, yet again
"Good, at least I wasn't a complete failure." He laughed as he walked me to the door "we should do it again sometime." He added, stopping beside me as I pulled my keys from my purse
"We should. But something more laid back next time. It takes a lot of work getting this dressed up you know." I laughed as I opened the door
"When are you free next?" He asked, glancing down at the porch floor
"Pretty much everyday. My life pretty much consists of eating, sleeping, and hanging out with my friends." I explained, finally noting how close we were to each other
"How about Friday?" He suggested, sending a killer smile my way
"Friday it is. Remember, something simple." I reminded with a smile
"Night Sarah." He grinnee
"Goodnight Tucker." I smiled, leaning up and kissing his cheek before making my way inside
"Oh my god." I smiled, leaning against the wall as I took my shoes off before making my way into the living room
"How was your 'date'?" A voice asked from the kitchen. With a scream, I turned and threw my keys in that general direction "keys? That would have stopped me." The voice continued. Flicking on the living room light, I noticed Luke standing in the doorway
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, trying to calm my heart rate
"Making sure you got home alright and weren't lying in a ditch somewhere." He explained, walking towards me
"How did you get into my house?" I asked, stepping back to sit on the couch
"Your mom was home when I got here and told me I could wait for you."
"So you wait in the dark?" I asked sarcastically, glaring at him
"I dozed off, went to get a glass of water, and heard you come in. Calm down." He joked, trying to get rid of the seriousness floating around us
"Alright. Well, I'm home, you don't have to worry." I smiled as I stood and started making my way to the stairs
"Why did you go out with him?" He asked suddenly, looking me in the eye
"Because he asked, and he seemed like a nice guy." I explained before continuing my way upstairs
"But why him?" He continued, following me
"Because he asked." I explained slowly as he stepped into my room behind me
"You aren't going out with him again, are you?" He asked, leaning against my dresser
"Yes, I am. On Friday." I smiled, butterflies erupting in my stomach at the thought of going out with him again "can you unzip my dress, I can't reach it." I muttered, turning my back to him
"Why?" He growled as he unzipped it
"Why not?" I questioned, slipping the dress off and throwing on a pair of shorts and a baggy sweatshirt
"Because-because....ugh." He groaned, turning his back to me, pushing his fingers through his hair
"No. Why shouldn't I go out with him? You seem to think I shouldn't, so why not?" I snarled, crossing my arms over my chest
"Because-" he started, spinning around to face me. He didn't finish, just stared at me, anger in his gaze
"Why?" I asked again, my voice gaining volume. He shook his head, but instead of walking away or answering me like he usually would, he took two long strides towards me, grabbed my face and slammed his lips to mine, pushing my back against the wall. Just as abruptly as he'd started it, he pulled back and left. And me, in my shocked state, didn't think to run after him and demand an explanation.
