Ace

Later, he pulled into then driveway and stopped, leaning over and kissing me one more time before we got out of his truck and he walked me to the door

"That was the most fun I've ever had on a date." I told him laughing. He grinned and looked over at me as we stepped onto the porch

"I'm glad," He told me "so does that mean you'll say yes of I ask you to go out with me again?" He asked, leaning against the wall

"I don't know Steele. You do have a reputation with women." I sighed, looking down at my boots

"Well, how bout we give it a shot, and if I screw up, you can shoot me." He bargained, tilting my face up so I was looking at him. I was quiet as I thoight it through, searching his face for any signs as to what his intentions were; but I saw nothing but honesty lying there

"Sure." I finally mumbled, still watching his face. He looked shocked, but grinned nonetheless

"Friday at 5?" He asked, pushing himself off the side of the house

"Sure." I smiled, wrapping my arms around myself. He kissed me quickly before I opened the door and stepped inside the house

"Night Steele." I smiled

"Night." He grinned before jogging back to his truck as I closed the door and jogged upstairs to my room

"How was your date?" My mother asked, following me into my room

"Great, actually." I smiled, remembering all the fun I'd had tonight

"Did he try anything?" She asked, as I switched my clothes for Pajama's

"No. He was...well, a gentleman." I explained as I brushed through my hair and took my makeup off

"So what'd the two of you do?" She asked, now that she knew he hasn't been an ass

"We got McDonalds, went mudding, and watched stars." I explained, throwing the makeup remover thingy in the garbage and walking downstairs with my mom to where my dad sat in his chair watching Animal Planet

"Are the two of you going out again?" He asked as I curled up on his lap and watched with him. It might seem weird for a 17 year old girl to sit on her father's knee, but this is how we were, we'd always been really close, and I was his baby

"Yeah, on Friday." I mumbled, pulling a blanket over myself and going to sleep.

George (Ace's Father)

I smiled as I realized my little girl had gone to sleep already, soft, indesiferable mumbles coming out of her mouth

"Can you go pull the covers on her bed back?" I asked my wife Kelly, looking up at her

"'Course I can." She smiled, making her way up the stairs to Ace's room while I picked her up and carried her to her room. I set her on the bed before taking the blankets from Kelly and covering her up, then kissed her forehead before following my wife from the room shutting the door

"Your gonna have to let her grow up sometime George." Shemumbled as we walked into our room after shutting off the lights

"I know, but she's alwaya been daddys girl." I sighed, getting under the covers as Kelly shut off the light and crawled into bed

"I know. But I have the feeling you might have a run for your money pretty soon." She grinned, missing my jaw before tucking herself into my chest and going to sleep while I thought about what she'd said.
