Ace

The next morning I woke up and stretched before grabbing my clothes, which consisted of shorts and a 'Save the Rack''

Tanktop, before running into the bathroom to shower and dress. Once done, I did my makeup and straitened my hair and made my way downstairs

"Your late baby girl." My dad laughed, handing me my travel mug filled with coffee, and a toast and bacon sandwich

"Thanks daddy." I smiled, grabbing my sunglasses and purse and jogging out to my truck, my homework already on the passenger seat. I had just pulled out of my driveway when I got a call

"Hey this is Ace the pixie, what's your favorite color?" I answered, focusing on the road

"Hey Ace, this is Steele. Do you think I could catch a ride to school, my truck broke down." He explained, sounding frustrated

"Sure can, I'll be there in a few." I grinned, shaking my head

"Thanks Ace. See ya in a few." He said

"Bye." I mumbled, hanging up and shaking my head. Soon enough, I pulled down the driveway to Grahms farm and parked in front of the house, hearing yelling coming from the barn. After sliding out of my truck, I realized it was Steele and his father yelling. I noticed a woman about my mothers age stepping out onto the porch

"Hello, can I help you?" She asked, glancing at the barn before an embarrassed look covered her face

"Hello Mrs Grahms, my names Ace Jobins, Steele asked me to drive him to school." I smiled, shaking her hand and smiling

"Ah, so your the young lady who's caught his fancy. He and my husband are in the barn." She smiled, leading me towards the yelling "sorry about them, they've been going at it for a couple weeks now." She explained, sounding dissapointed

"Its alright ma'am." I explained, smiling soothingly

"Alright that's enough." She said loudly as we stepped into the barn. Both men froze and looked over at us, both of their ears going red

"Sorry honey." Mr Grahms mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck "Hello, my names Brad." He smiled at me, holding his hand out

"Ace Jobins." I smiled back, shaking his hand firmly "You ready to go Steele?" I asked, looking at him

"Yeah, I am." He mumbled, refusing to look at his parents as he walked with me out of the barn

"It was nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Grahms." I smiled, shaking both of their hands again before jumping into my truck and moving my books off the passenger seat so Steele can get in

"Sorry about the, uh...argument between my father and I." He mumbled, looking over at me as I pulled onto the road

"Its okay. Not every family is perfect." I smiled, glancing at him "Was this about the farm?" I asked "If I'm overstepping my boundaries, I apologize." I added when he didn't answer me

"Yeah, it was about the farm." He told me sadly, glaring out the windshield

"I'm sorry Steele, I should have just kept my mouth shut." I apologized as we drove into the schools parking lot

"Its alright, you didn't mean anything by it." He smiled, stepping out and grabbing his home work

"I'll see you at lunch I guess." I smiled before jogging towards my first class, math. Honestly, most horrible subject ever thought of. I was knocked from my thoughts as I ran into a solid humanoid wall of bullshit

"Get out of my way David." I snarled, moving to step around him, only to have him move in front of me again with a wide smirk gracing his lips

"No can do princess." He chuckled, his arms crossed, back strait

"Seriously, move." I growled, once again moving to step around him. And once again, he moved into my way again

"Are you dating that prick?" He questioned, refusing to move

"No. You and I broke up, remember?" I insulted, raising an eyebrow and looking him in the eye. His face became red and you could see the fury in his eyes. His fists clenched and his breathing became more ragged. Davids temper had always been bad, and it'd hit hard and fast. I was suddenly slammed against the locker, a pounding pain near my cheek bone, and a splitting feeling just above it. I was quickly drug up by my that and held off the ground, all of my oxygen supply cut off completely

"You stupid bitch!" He snarled, spit flying into my face "What the fuck does he have that I don't?!" I struggles to get air, my vision going blurry

"A.....h-h...eart." I gasped. Another burst of pain on my lip, and I could feel it split. This's gonna be a bitch in the morning I thought as my vision started developing black spots

"Hey! Get the fuck off her!" I heard someone yell, a guy, I think. I could hear scuffling and shouting before a blurry face appeared above my own

"Hey....breathe..........awake.......help...soon.." A mans voice told me, though I couldn't hear it all, I only heard part of what he said

"So tired...." I gasped quietly, my eyes starting to close

"No!" He yelled before I shut my eyes.

Beep...beep...beep...beep. I could hear, I could feel, but I couldn't open my eyes, and I couldn't open move

"She's been out for a week, how much longer until you bastards finally get your shit together and figure out what's wrong?!" I heard a mans voice, my fathers

"Sir, there is nothing wrong with her. Its her mind recovering from what happened. She'll be awake soon." Who I assumed was a doctor soothed before a door could be heard closing

"So who did this to her?" My father asked, and by the sound of the answer, it was a frequent question

"David King." I heard my mothers voice snap with a noticeable snarl twisted into her words. After lots of work, I was able to twitch my fingers, slowly finding enough strength to open my eyes

"Daddy..." I whispered, my voice sounding hoarse, alienated, and unlike my own

"Ace!" My father mumbled, running forwards and pulled me into a hug

"Wa-water..." K croaked, pulling away

"Oh of course!" My mother cried, running to get a glass of water. Once she'd handed it to me, she ran off to get a doctor.

Once I had been thoroughly checked over by Dr Schlack, my parents had gone home to get me an extra change of clothes, so I'd be by my self for a little while, or so I thought, at least. The door was suddenly thrown open and Steele rushed in, looking frantic, his eyes landing on me

"Oh my god, Ace!" He gasped, running towards me and pulling me against his chest

"You scared the shit outta me, ya know that?" He questioned quietly, tucking his face into the nook between my neck and shoulder. We sat quietly for a moment before he released me and stepped back

"What happened?" I asked, looking up at him

"David beat the shit out of you, and choked you till you lost consciousness. If I hadn't shown up, I doubt he'd have stopped at just knocking you out cold." He explained, his grip on my hand tightening as he got angry

"Hey, calm down. I'm not that easy to get rid of." I grinned, hugging him again

"Thank fucking god that's true." He mumbled, pulling me tighter against him again "you know, hanging out with you isn't good for my health, every time I'm around you its like I'm running out of air."
