Ace
----------
Its been a few days since Sarah went on her date with Tucker, and we have yet to have Luke and her in the same room at the same time. They're avoiding each other, for some reason
"Have you seen Luke lately?" River asked, everyone but Luke sitting around a table in the cafe we had deemed our meeting place
"I'm not sure. He hasn't been around much since he decided to wait for Sarah to get back from her date." Josh muttered, stirring his ketchup with a fry
"Oh, speaking of which, what did he want? He said he needed to talk to you about something important." Lexi asked, looking across the table at the unusually quiet blonde
"Nothing, alright?! Jesus Christ." Sarah hissed, standing up and walking from the cafe
"What the hell was that?" Steele asked, staring after her
"I don't know. I'll be back." I smiled before jogging after her "Sarah! Sarah wait, please." I called after her
"What do you want Ace?" She snapped, trying to unlock her car
"What happened with Luke? Everyone else might not notice, but every time someone brings up Luke you get tense and snappy. So what happened?" I asked, leaning against her vehicle
"It was great. Tucker and I went out, had fun, and planned to go out again Friday; then I went inside and Luke was there. He followed me up to my room asking if I planned on going out with Tucker again, and got upset when I said yes. When I asked why I shouldn't go out with Tucker again, Luke wouldn't give me a reason, so I pressed the issue and he kissed me. He kissed me and left, and I was too shocked to go after him. He's been avoiding me since." She explained, looking down at her feet
"I know where he is now. I could take you to talk to him and you could get it sorted out if you'd like." I offered, hoping I wasn't overstepping any boundaries
"That would actually be great." She smiled, looking at me
"I'll go grab my keys and purse. We'll take my truck." I grinned, running back inside as Sarah walked towards my truck
"Sarah and I are going somewhere, if you need me I have my cell." I smiled, kissing Steele and waving at the others before going back outside
"Got your keys?" Sarah asked
"Yup. Get in." I told her as I unlocked the doors. The drive to the old quarry was quiet, both of us lost in our thoughts
"I'll wait here for now, text me if plans change." I smiled as she got out of my truck.

I made my way down the small path to the basin, watching small bugs flit around the area. I knew he was here, Ace had parked right next to his truck at the top
"So this is where you hide." I said quietly when I came to the end of the path, seeing his back as he threw rocks into the water
"What do you want?" He asked, not turning to look at me
"Why are you avoiding me?" I asked, wrapping my arms around myself, trying to cut some of the cold breeze that was sweeping through the basin
"I'm not avoiding you." He snapped, hurling another rock into the water
"Luke just stop. After you kissed me last Friday you go out of your way to avoid me and you know it.... why?" I asked, looking down at my feet, twisting the toe of my shoe into the gravel
"Because I made a complete fool of myself, Sarah! You went on a date with the guy you clearly like, and I go and do that! I mean, how fucking stupid can a guy get?!" He yelled, throwing another rock, but still not looking at me
"Are you joking?! 'The guy I like' is a blind tool who looked past all of the not-so-subtle hints I dropped! I don't think I could have been anymore obvious if I tried!" I screamed, running my fingers through my hair
"Oh really, so why'd you go out with Tucker then?!" He snarled, finally spinning to look at me. With a groan, I stomped towards him, grabbed the front of his shirt and slammed my lips to his before pulling back
"Because your the stupidest, most simple minded idiot I've ever met, and I was trying to move on and forget the unreturned feelings I had for you." I snapped, taking a step back. He stood there, unmoving as I stepped back "now you know. Its not some 'everyone but you knows' thing anymore." I muttered with a sarcastic laugh before turning to go back up to Aces truck
"What?" He asked suddenly, grabbing my arm and tugging me to a soft stop
"I said, I've had this ridiculous crush on you since before I started hanging out with Ace, and I only went out with Tucker to forget-" I started, but was cut off when his lips covered mine roughly, his hands moving to my waist. For a second I just stood there like an idiot before finally snapping back into reality. My arms would their way around his neck, my fingers sliding into his hair as his callused hands brushed the skin at my waist
"This whole time, you've liked me?" He questioned once he pulled back, his breathing labored
"Yeah, pretty much." I laughed, pulling back a bit
"I swear to god, Rivers the only intelligent guy in our little group of freaks." He chuckled, resting his forhead against mine
"What do you mean?" I asked, running my fingers through the hair at the bape of his neck
"Steele liked Ace for a long time before they even spoke to each other but was just too big of a coward to say anything, then he left after saving the day, and then screwed it up royally with that bet. Josh overlooked Lexi for months, and I did the same to you. I've liked you since that first mall trip, where you basically drug me around the mall." He confessed with a smirk, his eyes flickering across my face
"Are you serious?" I laughed, shaking my head
"Yeah, you drug me around by my arm, chattering away and asking questions, and laughing until your face was red. It was then I realized I didn't want to fuck around anymore, I just didn't know what to do." He muttered, stepping away from me
"That whole slamming me up against the wall thing would have worked." I told him, looking up at him
"Well then, I had the right idea the whole time then. I just never used it." He mumbled before it lapsed into silence for a while
"Oh god..." I muttered, glancing down at my phone
"What?" Luke asked, looking at me
"Its Friday, I have another date with Tucker..." I explained slowly. A frown made its way onto his face
"Really? After all that, you're going to go out with him again?!" Luke chuckled, but it didn't sound playful and happy like it usually did. It sounded horrible
"Luke-" I started to say, putting my hand on his wrist
"Forget it. Enjoy your date." He snapped before turning and walking back up the path
"Luke wait!" I yelled, running after him. But by the time I got to the top of the hill, his truck was already pulling onto the road
"Are you okay?" Ace asked, jogging over to me
"I really fucked up Ace." I sobbed, resting my head on her shoulder.
-----------------
After Ace manager to calm me down some, we went to get a tub of ice cream from the grocery store before going back to my house
"Thank you for doing this." I smiled as we walked through the doors
"No problem." She grinned, leading me towards the frozen section
"Tucker....stop it!" A voice giggled from the isle over. A glance at Ace revealed she was as confused as I was
"You don't think...?" I asked, pointing towards the isle
"I don't....know..." She muttered, starting in that direction
"We're in a store!" The same voice giggled
"We've been dating for almost a year, I honestly don't care what other people think." A deep voice muttered. A very familiar voice
"You slime ball." Ace accused, crossing her arms over her chest. The two sprung apart, their eyes flying over to us
"Who are you?" The red head asked
"Oh I think the question is who are you. Tucker.... Tucker...Tucker....." Ace smirked, shaking her head as she let her arms fall to her back pockets "is this your girlfriend?" She asked, taking a few steps in their direction
"Ace, please don-" Tucker started, stepping away from the ginger he'd been holding
"Yes, I am his girlfriend. What does that matter?" The girl asked, her eyes narrowing as they flew between Ace and I
"It matters because I was on a date with him last Friday. And there was another scheduled for tonight." I told her, my thumbs tucked into my front pockets
"W-what?! You're lying!" The girl accused, her eyes flitting fromAce, to me, and finally to Tucker "Aren't they?" She asked, her eyes starting to water
"Lisa-" he stopped suddenly. He seemed to be trying to form words, but nothing would come out properly
"You bastard!" Lisa yelled, slapping him across the face before stomping away
"Look, Sarah...I'm sor-" he started
"Forget it. We weren't anything serious. But you really fucked up with your girlfriend." I told him "Ace, we are going to get ice cream, and we're going to get fat and watch a movie. I have something to do first, though." I told her
"You go. I'll call Steele; meet us at my place once you're done." She smiled, grabbing four tubs of ice cream before walking over to a check out. With one last glance at Tucker, I ran back to the diner to get my car.
