"You will wait in the boathouse," was all he said before disappearing with Nagini and leaving Sophie devastatingly shocked.

The dark cascade of the room began taking over her now vulnerable mind. She was susceptible in those few moments but she couldn't snap herself out of that trance. The thoughts that ran through her head felt like hers, but also someone else's. Almost as if she was mentally fighting herself.

Her legs were stiffened and her knees were locked, which cause goosebumps to climb up her spine and make her shake herself into reality. One would say she was happy in that instant, for this was a sign he would have to kill her to receive the elder wand's full allegiance.

She had been ready for her death this entire time, knowing she would live, but what if she didn't? For her Horcrux to be destroyed, she would have to be completely eradicated so the soul fragment has no hopes of finding another host. Death would be enough... but what if she decided to not come back after dying...

She knew she wouldn't. She had Severus and he needed her. They needed each other more than they realized. They had been apart longer than they had been together, but she cherished each moment as if it were her last. And unfortunately, in these times it's hard to tell when that moment is. Life likes playing tricks on those who just want to live it.

Sophie's knees then gave out and collided with the wooden flooring beneath her. She rubbed her temples and then stood up realizing that it was going to be May in less than 24 hours which meant her death was going to take place in less than 48. She gulped and thought about what she wanted to do on her last free day alive. Nothing came to her mind. Nothing.

She couldn't even see Severus until the 2nd because of him being the headmaster. The school was heavily protected this time since they knew Harry was coming. He was most likely on his way to Gringotts, but not for the cup. Sophie wondered what fate would make them do since she already destroyed that Horcrux. Possibly to get the sword of Gryffindor since Sophie no longer had it. They would need it to kill Nagini.

Sophie closed her eyes and tried to take a deep breath but it came out in shaken spurts. She stood up and dusted herself off as she began walking towards the stairway. On her way down, she traced her fingers on the wooden handrails. Her fingernails drifted down the wood with the slightest ease and Sophie couldn't help but feel somewhat satisfied. The simplest thing was able to momentarily heal her mind.

The Malfoys were gone. Most likely to prepare themselves for war and make a plan to survive if the Dark Lord were to fall. They would end up living either way. Sophie would ensure that. Even though Lucius was a piece of work, he was simply a pawn who broke free of the king's spell, but it was too late. The game had commenced.

All she could do was wait. Wait until her death.

'What will it feel like?' Sophie thought as she left the manor, slowly closing the door behind her. Walking down the brick pathway, Sophie thought about what she would see when she died. It wouldn't be like Harry's because she hadn't been a witch her whole life. She came close to tears when she realized how much regret she had inside of her. She could've saved so many people if it weren't for those petty years of disappearance.

Thinking back to Lily and James, Sophie couldn't help but bend down and cry in the middle of the entrance pathway. Everything about them she wanted to remember.
