Time skip coming up.
I'm going to speed the book up a little.

Kai

Making my way out of the house, I watched as Carter's tall figure got out of the car and opened the passenger side door for me.

"Thank you." I spoke softly to him as I got into the car.

"What did I tell you?" He spoke seriously to me and I smiled small, looking up at him.

"Hm? What did I say to you, ma?"

"It's your job." I spoke surely to him, mocking his words and he nodded his head in agreement.

"Aight then."

"You don't never have to thank me for that." He said, leaning in and kissing my cheek softly before closing the door and making his way toward the other side as he got in on the driver's side.

I couldn't help but to smile as I sat there in complete bliss. I'd squashed my beef with Kate and I was finally able to focus strictly on what and who I wanted. Without doubts in my mind of him wanting a her or just a white girl in general over me.

It felt good. I felt good.

Pulling away from my house, the car fell into a comfortable silence as I sat with my hands folded, thinking nothing but happy thoughts.

"So.."

"What did y'all talk about?"

"You apologized?" Cater broke it, speaking smartly to me and I looked at him with narrowed eyes as a small smirk slowly appeared on his face.

"Oh-"

"So you think I was the one who was supposed to apologize?" I tested him, just to see what his answer would be but he played it smart and stayed silent, saying nothing.

I stared at the side of his face, burning a hole through it and I watched as he tried to ignore me before licking his lips in amusement while a huge smile graced his face.

"You get on my nerves." I couldn't help but to laugh as he did the same, driving with one hand on the wheel with the other in his lap now.

"I didn't even say anything, ma."

"Mhm, well I know what you were thinking."

"You think you're so funny." I went on, looking down at my hands while he smirked, focusing strictly on the road now.

"Nah."

"It's just I know you, Kai."

"Oh you know me?" I looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah." He shrugged off.

"Three years of observing you and your attitudes.."

"Three years of you acting crazy to a nigga every time I came around to hang with Ferrow."

"You're spoiled, baybeh." He ended up saying and I looked at him with my lips poked out.

"Me? Spoiled?" I asked in disbelief, pointing to myself and he chuckled lightly, looking at me out of the corner of his eye.

"Yeah and you know that shit too."

"And your sisters? Especially, Ferrow. They spoil you rotten."

"Now here I am, joining the circus, about to make you even worse."

"Oh really?" I asked in amusement, listening to his craziness as he nodded his head seriously.
