When Ba Wei got out the shower I had just gotten down making Chāshāo bāo( barbecue pork buns). I had wanted to make something heavier but with such a crunch of time I had to choose my battles. I heated some rice and some ramen and grilled some beef for some side dishes just to make it appear to be a heart dinner. I was sitting the pot of ramen down on the island right when Ba Wei walked in.

"It smells nice."

I looked up at him to see him ruffling his hair with a towel. His abdomen was bare while he wore just a pair of my underwear that were a bit too small for him. They made his legs look amazing, but before my mind could go to any weird places I cleared my throat.

"Hungry?"

He smiled, "you know I am. What did you make?"

"Just some buns, ramen, and some grilled beef."

"That sounds good," he sat down at the island and stared at me.

"You can start eating."

"No, I'll wait til you sit also."

I sighed and tried to hurry up putting the dishes I just washed away. After I sat them in the cabinet I quickly sat down at the island and just like he had said he began to eat. I watched his expressions closely as he bit into a bun. His face seemed to light up and I smiled to myself.

"These are so goo," he said as he stared at the bun in his chopsticks.

"Really, let me try it."

I was about to pick up a bun but before I could Ba Wei put his in front of my mouth. I shook my head but he still left it there so without any other options I bit into the bun he offered me.

"I could've got my own bun," I said while chewing.

He took another bite, "is it good?"

I couldn't help but laugh, "yeah they are. Isn't your boyfriends cooking the best?"

"En."

Caught off guard I couldn't help but ask, "what?"

"You asked if your cooking is the best..."

"Yes."

"...it is." I watched as he picked up a bun and some beef and put them in my bowl. "Eat."

I looked down at my now full bowl and just decided to eat. We ate in silence for a few minutes before Ba Wei began to talk.

"I hate to ask but how have you and your father been?"

I didn't really know how to answer. When he left I just told him to have a nice flight after what I suppose was ah argument. He hadn't called or text me since then so I don't know if we're even on good terms. My cards were frozen I know that much so he obviously was still upset about something.

"To be honest, I don't know."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean he went back to Shanghai to see about the board of the company a fee days ago and he froze my cards so he's mad about something."

"Wait, he froze your cards?"

I glanced up at Ba Wei, "yeah. He does it from  time to time. It's no big deal. He's just mad about our relationship. He'll get over it soon."

Ba Wei sat down his chop sticks, "why didn't you tell me you didn't have money?"

"I do have money. Believe it or not, not all of my funds come from my father."

"How much?"

"Enough, so continue to eat."

He stared at me for a few more seconds before picking up his chopsticks and starting to eat again. I felt kind of moved by his concern about my well being, but I didn't want to make him worried. It's true that I had enough money to support myself for a good amount of time but by December I'll have to figure something out because the bills of this place alone will drain the little cash I have.

"What do you want to do on the small break?"

"Hmm? I don't know. What do you want to do?"

"I asked you first."

I chuckled, "I don't know. That's why I asked you."

I sat my chopsticks down and waited for him to answer. In truth I didn't know what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to do something with him but I don't know what."

"Are you full?"

I nodded and he got up and started to clean up the food in front of us. I was confused because he hadn't answered my question. I decided not to say anything and just watched him clean up. I have to say it was nice to watch him clean. I watched as he put up the leftovers and began to wash the dishes.

"Hey," I said as I got up.

"Hmm?"

I wanted behind him and wrapped my arms arms around him, "is there anything you want to do during the break?"

"I'm fine with anything as long as it's with you."

"What did I tell you about saying cute things."'

He laughed, "sorry. I can't help it."

I laughed and let my hands fall from around him. I let out a sigh and just watched him wash the dishes. I hadn't really thought of what I wanted to do during the small break that was coming up. I've been to stressed about everything around me. There was no doubt in my mind that Cheng De was up to something. He may be quiet now but sooner or later he's going to make my life a living hell. In all honesty the lack of destruction from him made me anxious.

As I stared at the back of Ba Wei's head I couldn't help to just reflect on what we talked about Friday. I hadn't thought about it since then since we had just been studying all weekend, but the last thing he said echoed in my mind.

I'll make it fit. That's what he said to me before we had phone sex. Its embarrassing to think about and I knew my face was red. I wonder what he thought about that conversation. Sure it may have been the spur of the moment but I want to know.

"Ba Wei..."

"Hmm," he said as he dried his hands and turned towards me.

"Do you want to make love to me?"
