As I trekked though the jungle I couldn't help but feel queasy about what I was about to get myself into, how exactly am I going to make it all the way to the underworld and even if I did what would I find down there?

And more importantly...how would I even stop it?

All I can do is hope the answer becomes clear as I delve into the caves, now I've been in the underground jungle numerous times before looking for ores and things so I know it like the back of my hand, but I've never really went any deeper than that, hence why I brought that recall potion with me so that I'm the event I either can't remember the way or physically can't make my way back to the surface I can just drink it and end up back in my house.

Laura: I just hope nobody robs my house or something while I'm gone.

I mean this jungle is pretty far from any kind of civilization so other then the occasional adventurer nobody ever comes through here...it's one of the reasons I came here when I was...'exiled' to put it lightly.

I didn't have to worry about anyone stumbling upon me and trying to kill me or something just because I'm a halfbreed...yeah people hate me that much.

Even after all these years I've never really understood why people hate halfbreeds so much, maybe they just can't stand the idea of two different races having a child together or maybe it's some religious belief or something, I'm not really sure.

But that's not important right now, after encountering a few derplings and bats I made it to the familiar cave entrance not too far from my treehouse, I took a breath to try and gather my thoughts before making my way down the tunnel and into the caves.

Pieces of the tightly packed dirt came loose as I descended down the dark tunnel, it's moments like these where being a halfbreed comes in handy because aside from having much faster reflexes due to my heritage my ears allow me to hear things that might be sneaking around in the darkness in the caverns.

As I made my way deeper into the tunnel and saw the end where it opens up into the main caverns I saw the various torches I had left during my previous expeditions to help illuminate the place and make my life a little easier.

Although to be fair my natural night vision kind of eliminates the need for these things but most monsters will avoid areas that are very bright so they still have a purpose, plus it just feels a little more comforting to be in the light.

Eventually I exited the tunnel and found myself standing in one of the more open parts of the underground jungle, despite being underground most of the ground still had bits of grass on it and even an occasional tree every now and then...don't ask me how that's possible because I really don't have an answer for you.

Laura: (Going down here's always been nerve racking, hopefully it doesn't get any worse the deeper I go)

Why do I feel like I just jinxed myself?

I began to make my way through the caverns, at one point I heard the buzzing of a hornet and reached for my whip but thankfully the noise faded away which means it flew away from where I was heading, I don't doubt I could kill a jungle hornet or two but I have a limited amount of potions and I shouldn't rely on the idea that I'll find more down here so it's best to avoid combat if I can help it.
