Chapter 25 - Wolf

[Richard's eyes stay widened as he silently keeps staring into those of the fairy's. He's perplexed by her wakeup call, but knows she's right. Her wings subtly move along with the soft breeze that makes its way through the trees and her pupils tremble.]

Penny: I miss Gumball so much... I miss all of them so much. Heck, I even miss seeing Nicole so much, they way she truly is! This monster has been building up all that dread and needs to be defeated for that matter. I don't believe in chances being lost. She needs to be set free. Now!

[Before either of them can speak up or make another move, Penny breaks the circle they had been captured in by the feline beast and starts sprinting towards it. Her wailing turns into a yell as she tries to alarm the creature of her approach and she shifts into her wolf form. Nicole's mind doesn't manage to process the sudden change of attitude from her prey, nor the fact one of them changed appearance. Transformed... How familiar she is with it.

"Fairy? Fairy, what are you doing?! Wait... Penny! Penny is that you?!"

"No- not anymore... I can't remember. Who is she... Who is she with? Who are those figures- Wolf! Wolf... WOLF, THERE'S A WOLF! DARN PESKY CANINE CREATURES! DEATH IS WHAT YOU CAME HERE FOR!"

The monster releases an aggravated snarl that soon morphs into a bellow, as it tries to keep the accelerating wolf on a distance. But the wolf is too determined and continues approaching it, baring her teeth while not letting her eyes lose contact with the glowing yellow ones. She takes one final leap and pounces right onto the huge feline, attempting to bite into its neck but soon realizing most of it is fur only. The wolf's jaws snap closed around nothing but long fluff and she falls down right next to the monster once the fur couldn't carry her. Nicole, first being disoriented, shakes her fur where Penny just bit into and goes for the counterattack. She aggressively clenches one of her clawed paws around the small neck of the canine, snarling more intensively along with tightening her grip. Penny feels powerless as the air runs out in her lungs and stone-cold fear runs down her spine when she fears getting choked to death. The wolf releases a forced howl in pain which triggers Patrick to take a few large steps forward, only for Judith to stop him.]

Patrick: What the-?! Judith!

Judith: D-dear! It's extremely dangerous!

Patrick: But our daughter is in mortal danger, even more than we currently are! Let me go!

Judith: What are you gonna do?! You're gonna get yourself terribly hurt again!

Patrick: Oh my gracious goodness! Judith, your goshdarn daughter is screaming bloody murder for life! What is going on inside your head?!

[Richard quickly steps in between the arguing shelled fairies and carefully stretches out his paws to separate them.]

Richard: Fitzgeralds, please! We can't waste any time!

Patrick: No matter what you say, I'm saving our daughter, Judith! What is up with you anyway?!

[Judith can't even get another word out of her mouth or she breaks down into tears, covering her eyes in fright as she drops to the ground.]

Judith: I- I'm so sorry! I just- don't wanna lose you too- Y-you were already in so much pain in the hospital! O-our daughter- S-she needs to be okay, y-you're right!
