"Gosh, I feel stuffed." Olivia exhaled heavily, leaning against the back of the chair, not acting very lady like.
Lindsey smiled, looking at her from across their table. If she wore a pair of pants, she would have popped the button open by now, it didn't matter that they were at a restaurant. She was real and it was one of the things he liked most about her.
"We're still waiting for dessert." Lindsey pointed out, picking up his glass of water. "You insisted, remember?"
"Maybe we can cancel?" Olivia wondered aloud, although, she straightened up immediately as she saw the waiter coming towards them with a chocolate soufflé for her. "On the other hand..." Lindsey laughed lightly and put his water away to make some space for his cheesecake. "Will you still love me, when I'm fat?"
"What?" He frowned. "What makes you say that?"
"This isn't exactly calorie free and I'm thinking about ordering another one." She smirked, making him grin again. "It smells fantastic."
"I promise." Lindsey nodded, reaching for her hand. "Actually, before we dig in..." He paused to clear his throat. "There's something I want to say first." Olivia creased her eyebrows at the sudden seriousness of his tone. "I feel like a different man, when I'm with you. You came into my life so unexpectedly and changed it for the better. Honestly, I no longer believed that I was going to find someone. Not just anyone - you. I'm- I'm not very good at expressing my feelings, when I'm not putting them into words for a song, but uh-" His free hand disappeared into the inside pocket of his blazer. "Olivia, I-"
"Buck?" A voice from behind stopped Lindsey and he thought it sounded really familiar. "Lindsey, is that you?"
Lindsey frowned and turned to look, withdrawing his empty hand from his pocket. "Chris?" He wasn't entirely sure.
"Yeah!" Christopher Nicks beamed with a wide grin on his face. "Man, I can't believe this! It's been ages! The last time I saw you must have been when you were climbing out my sister's bedroom window."
Olivia certainly didn't appreciate the interruption, but she could tell that Lindsey had reunited with an old friend, so she kept her lips sealed in a thin line, slightly resembling a smile.
"Must have." Lindsey nodded with a hearty laugh.
"You haven't run into her recently by any chance, have you?" Chris asked, completely ignoring the woman at the table.
The smile fell from Lindsey's face. "What? Here, in LA? I thought..." He gulped.
"Yeah, close to two years now. Her husband, well, ex-husband now, uprooted the whole family for some business opportunity, before things went haywire. She and the kids stayed though, since I'm here with my family, too." Chris sighed. "I'm sorry, you didn't ask and I'm obviously keeping you." He gave a small wave to Olivia, who stared back at him, teeth gritted. "Well, it was really nice bumping into you. Maybe, we'll see each other around."
"I, uh... yeah. Maybe." Lindsey swallowed uneasily, shaking Chris' hand, before taking his seat again.
"Lindsey, are you okay?" Olivia leaned in closer.
"I'm fine." He assured, downing his water. The object in his pocket now completely forgotten.
Giving him a moment, Olivia spoke up. "You had something to say to me before we got interrupted."
The words went in one ear and out the other. Lindsey just blankly stared somewhere past Olivia's shoulder.
