Holden's POV
Its the night before the last day of school and I'm hyped. I'm ready to get out of school... and do more school.
I'm just ready to go to college and have a kid with Elizabeth. I'm still can't believe she's pregnant I mean she's still not showing it, but it don't matter she's happy, I'm happy so it's all good. There's going to be some good times and bad times but I want to spend my life with her as my wife.
Even when I was a kid I always pictured my married life with her, everyone knew Elizabeth would be a terrific mother, but never in a million years I'll get her pregnant before that. I have been thinking about marriage lately cause she's the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with cause she's my whole world.
I got up from my couch to go upstairs to talk to my parents about to talk about this.
I opened the door from the basement than walked to the living room "Mom, Dad" I said coming in
"What is it boy?" My dad said watching tv from a long day at the factory
"Umm... mom, dad. I got something I've been thinking about for two weeks"
"Yes Holden" my mom said looking directly at me
"I'm thinking of asking Elizabeth to marry me" I said
"Aah Aah" my mom said
My dad froze and looked at me.
"Boy, are you stupid. I thought you were a genius and now you making stupid decisions" my dad said to me
"Holden, you are 17 and Elizabeth is 18" my mom said
"I know I'm not legal to get married but I'm not saying I want to marry her right now" I said sitting down in a chair next to the couch
"Holden, are you only doing this because she is pregnant?" My mom said
"Of course not mom. I love that girl. I've been in love with her since the 3rd grade. Look, I've always picture myself with her and she's the only girl, do you know any girl that made me this happy?" I said smiling at them
My dad looked at my mom "I mean the boy has a point about her making him happy"
"But they are both to young for marriage" my mom said getting upset
"Mom, Latifah got married to Lorenzo at 19, you didn't get this mad" I said to her
"That's because she was out my house and old enough, Boy you still live at my house and still a kid"
"Boy, what are you gonna do for the first few years of marriage and being a parent?" My dad said
"I got it figured out" I said getting my phone out "Douglas college offers jobs for students who wants to help with college funds and education and some of the jobs are in janitorial staff, security, and working in the kitchen and you get paid. Plus all the money I get from my birthday and working at the car wash for two summers, I got close to five to six thousand dollars on me" I said looking at the both of them
"Wait what. How do you have that much money?" My mom said
"Ever since January 1st 2012 when I became eight and helping you both with taxes. So I've been saving money for the future"
"You been thinking this, huh?" My dad said
"Dad, no disrespect but I don't want to be like you and go to the military like you did. You think this body is ment for combat" I said pointing at my very skinny body
"Okay Holden, since you been I'll support you and you are a genius for saving money for these years" my dad said getting up from the couch and walking to his room
