nobody's pov

what if you made a promise and then broke it? how would you feel with the amount of guilt put on you that weighed as much as a semi truck?

that's how dream had been feeling for the past 2 years.

he made a promise to his ex partner that all he needed was a small break and that he would come back.

he told his partner to wait on him.

what if that break turned into a forever thing?

it turns into fear of the other person still waiting.

"oH iLl cOme bAcK i jUst neEd sOme tiMe" fuck that. fuck that lie.

now dream was scared and slightly hoping sapnap was still waiting on him. in the case of sapnap that wasn't exactly what was happening.

"shit!" sapnap said as he ran around his house quickly.

he overslept and was going to be late for work.

he ran to grab his necklace but he couldn't find it. he looked everywhere.

he ran around desperately and gave up.

a part of him was upset over not finding it.

he ran down to his car and saw his necklace laying on the dashboard.

he picked it up and put the cold metal around his neck. a shiver went down his spine.

he drove to work and ran in.

he spoke no word.

once he got home he saw the time. 12:45 am.

he took a pen and scratched a line in his journal. "sap you need to give up on this. its been day after day. nothing new happens. just go off and find some who actually cares." Karl, Sapnaps roommate and best friend, said.

"you say that every day but one day he'll mean what he said." sapnap said in annoyance.

"I just care about you. go find someone who won't lie to you."

"he didn't lie."

Karl sighed. "he did."

"he didn't." sapnap argued.

"whatever you say."

sapnap heard Karl walk back into his room.

he knew Karl was right but he was determined to disagree.

he's the painful part.

sapnap lives in new york.

dream lives in florida.

sapnap wasn't an idiot. he knew that fact. it still just stung when he made a line on how many days it had been since he saw dream.

he was waiting on him but also waiting on something new.
