"The number you dialed is out of service. Please leave a—"
Fuck it.
I whispered onto myself as I let go of a one stressful sigh, and flipped my phone back onto my hand. My body still enduring the cold of the dead of the dawn as I gazed upon the gloomy and dark clouds on the on the Port deck.
It's been 3 hours since the public maritime rescuers surrendered us over this port and informed Xavierheld. For some reasons, the rescuers were seemed to be aware on our identities and even gave a 'show' on how they found us stuck in a deserted small island without being suspicious to the authorities.
Things were very hard to explain. Nor even I can even explain the disappearance of that asshole Loren as well.
The rescuers had told me specifically that he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Why the fuck you won't answer!!??
I found myself letting go of a deep sigh as I held my phone and head on the cold metal railings on the port.
"You seemed extremely bothered."
I stopped and stood up straight as I heard a familiar voice on my side. I gazed upon his pitch-black hair and serious gray eyes that somehow shows a bit of disappointment towards me.
"What is it now, Tristan?" I replied as he stood beside me and held the cold metal railing as well.
"Everybody is already exhausted in all aspects." He said shortly as he let his eyes wander through the gloomy sea.
"Who wouldn't be?"
"Things happened way too fast. So fast that I wasn't even able to feel and even internalized what the hell happened to the three of us." I continued.
A few second of silence was heard in between. It was heavy as his eyes were staring.
"It seems that this mission is going down the drain, and worse part is that we haven't even truly achieved anything at all, aside from the fact that we are basically clueless where the fuck is the Heir."
My attention was then called upon hearing the facts that Tristan started to spit in front of my face.
"And Vaughn's memory isn't really coming out as planned. I could even imagine the stress Stella has to deal with for all these things, yet Maris seems not to somehow care." He continued and looked at me
"What's really going on, Captain?"
I found myself out of words as I stare at him. I cannot deny the fact that what he just said was the harsh reality that is slowly creeping on this team. I have no choice but to accept.
But is it really true?
"Never forget the main goal of this mission: To retrieve the lost heir and as well as Vaughn's memories—"
"And sacrifice my sister's mental and emotional state? For what? For the glory of Xavierheld?" Tristan with his trembling voice.
"Are you questioning the orders of the military?"
As I raised my voice he then looked away, somehow all disappointed.
Who wouldn't be anyways?
