It's been a week since Emma has died and almost everything went back to normal. Except for the cops still being around and Aaron still not talking to me. Matty or the others have tried getting us to talk but it just hasn't worked. It's been super annoying since we have a project in physics and we won't work together. He is seriously getting on my nerves. One of us here has to fix this, and of course, it has to be me.

I look over to Aaron as he was looking down at the untouched project we were supposed to be doing. " Aaron..." I sigh as he doesn't look over at me. I get closer to him. " Aaron, please. This is the only class we need to talk in. You can ignore me in any other one except this one. I want to pass." He glances in my direction. " Then do it yourself." I glared at him. " This is a team project idiot. I can't ' do it myself '." I mocked him. He rolls his eyes. I get closer to his face whispering. " Look, I don't know what's going on in that brain of yours but I didn't do anything. I'm clueless. So stop being such a pissbaby." He then finally looks over at me. Staring right into my eyes. " Prove it." I moved back into my seat confused. " What?" "Prove that you have nothing to do with her death." I scoff. " I don't need to prove shit to you, Aaron." He laughs. " Exactly, because you did it. " I groaned. " All I did was walk back home after you pulled that shitty move at the party. That's ALL I did." He rolled his eyes and looked back at his desk. We went back to stay quiet. " Seriously Aaron, what makes you think I did it?" He looks back over at me. " Remember at the party I tried talking to you in private but you didn't want to?" I nod my head. " Why does that matter right now?" " I was trying to warn you." Warn me? "Huh?" " She stopped me when I was leaving the gym Friday. She wanted to talk. In the end, she said we should exchange numbers like old times. I thought she was finally changing and wanted to be friends again. When I went back to my car I noticed she left it on your contact." He looked at me with a frown. " Wait so you're saying...." he sighs. " I didn't give her your number." I shook my head.

" This doesn't make sense. Why didn't you tell me this way sooner? Why wait until the party?" He covered his face with his hands. " I was going to tell you, but you went with Suzie in her car. Then I got distracted by Emma. We were chatting like old friends on the phone until the party. I feel so stupid."

"This still doesn't explain why you think I did it." " I followed you." I tensed up. I did not just hear that. " Excuse me?" He groans putting his head on the desk. " I followed you back home. I just had to make sure you got home safe. Woodsboro is not a safe place (Y/n). There are fucked up people here." I looked down at the desk. " So... You heard the phone call?" He sighs deeply. " Yes." I don't know how to feel right now. Should I be mad that he followed me? Or...I groaned. Suddenly the bell ranged. Everyone starts packing up and leaves the classroom. Before we can leave we both got stopped by Mr. Preston.

" You two. We need to talk." Oh shit. Were we talking too loud? Who am I kidding, everyone heard. Me and my big mouth. We both standing in front of the teacher. " Yes sir?" I asked wanting to leave already. He gave us a cold stare. " I couldn't help but see that you two haven't started the project yet. Are we having some problems here?" I almost sighed in relief. Of course, this is about the project. What else would it be? Before I could speak Aaron spoked up. " Sorry, Mr. P. It's my fault. I'm still mourning Emma's death. " Aaron frowns looking down. " She was my best friend in middle school. I just can't get the fact that she is dead." I couldn't help but frown as well. Losing someone that you love can be hard. " Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know. I can excuse both of you guys from the pr-" " No it's fine. I'm getting better. I don't want my partner to fail." Mr. Preston looks at his watch. " Well, it's due tomorrow. I could give you both a few extra days. Is that good?" We both nod. " Great, get to class before your late. See ya." I thanked him and we both left. Before we can split I stopped him. " I'm not letting this go, Aaron." He looks away from me. " Neither am I. You need to explain yourself." I nod. " We'll talk at lunch. Outside where we usually sit before school." " Alone?" I rolled my eyes. Of course, were going to talk about this alone. It's no one's business other than ours. " Alone." He nods. " See you lunchtime then." We split our ways.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            After long classes, it was finally lunch. I went straight to the place where we are supposed to meet up since I always pack lunch for myself. As I sit down I see Aaron walking over to me without a lunch. " You're not getting lunch?" He shakes his head. " I don't got time waiting in line. Plus I don't want any of our friends following us." I only nod. " Now explain (Y/n). Why did you say it? Correct me if I'm wrong but you told that dude you were calling you wanted Emma dead. You said, ' you can kill her' am I wrong?" Jeez, what a creep he remembers what I said so long ago? I sighed. " Yeah, I said that, but I clearly said it was a joke afterward! Plus you said you followed me home! You of all people know I didn't do it." He shakes his head. " I'm not saying it's you partially." I raised a brow. " Then who?" He stays quiet for a bit. "Him. The dude you keep talking to." Billy. Of course, he thinks it's him. " It can't be him! He had no clue when I told him she was dead." He groans. " How do I know you're not lying?!" " The fuck you mean?! Why would I be lying?!" " Uh, I don't know. To cover for him?" I huffed. " Aaron, I don't know who the hell he is. Never seen him in my life, why would I do such a thing? Plus he said who couldn't hurt a fly." Aaron scoffed. " Bullshit, I need to hear that for myself. " My head perks up. 'Hear that for myself.' huh? I pull out my phone.

" What are you doing?" He questions me. " I'm giving you what you want." He still looked confused. " You're going to hear him for yourself." His eyes widen. " You're going to call him?" I nod. " Last time we did that he didn't answer." I rolled my eyes. " He was busy last time." "And you think he's not busy right now?" " Worth a shot." I click on my contacts and pressed Billy. " Billy?" I nod my head as he looks at his name. " Do you remember? The 1996 murders? His name was Billy. (Y/n) you cant be this clueless-" I zip him up as my phone rings. We both look at my phone waiting for it to answer. Just like the last time we tried calling him.

" See, he didn't answer-" Aaron jumps when my phone starts ringing. We look to see it was him calling. I quickly answer putting it on speaker. " Hello?" He laughs. " You called?" Aaron tenses up hearing his voice for the first time. He looks over at me. " Hey, Billy. Hope I'm not disturbing you right now." he hums. " Not at all cutie. What's up?" I sighed. " I have this friend that was friends with the girl that... passed, and now they have a suspicion that you're behind it..." It was silent for a bit until he started busting out with laughter. " I killed her? Don't you remember I said I couldn't even hurt a fly?" " That's what I'm trying to tell them but-" " Is this friend happen to be the one that gave out your number?" I paused for a second and looked at Aaron. " Yeah..." " Look, I don't know what makes them think I killed her. I don't even live near Woodsboro." Before I could speak Aaron took my phone away from my hand. " How did you know it was at Woodsboro huh asshole?" Billy laughs. " Oh, you're a guy? (Y/n) how come you didn't tell me?" " I didn't think I had to." " Answer the fucking question." Billy hums in amusement. " Look, I was just curious. I searched it up on the internet. It's not that hard to find murders. Especially if the killer that escaped is pretty famous around there right now." He laughs as he hears Aaron groan. " I wouldn't say your hands are clean as well." " What do you mean?" " Well isn't it obvious? I've seen enough horror movies to know you're a suspect. You're accusing everyone to be the killer to let the good people on your side." Aaron scoffed. " Yeah? Well, I've seen more horror movies to know that you did it." " How was it me? I drove all the way from I live to Woodsboro to kill my girlfriend's enemy? Yeah no, buddy." " I'm going to find out you're the killer one way or another." Billy just laughs. " And when you do give me a call okay kid? Anyways I got no time for this anymore. Bye (Y/n)" I took my phone away from Aaron as he frowns. " Bye Billy. Sorry about that. We'll talk later?" " Sure." With that, he hanged up. I sighed putting my phone away and looking at Aaron. " So Aaron. Going to find more reasons why Billy did it?" I asked with a glare. he sighs looking at me. " No." I looked at him surprised. " Really?" He gets closer to me putting his head on my shoulder. " I think I'm just going crazy from the lack of sleep. Finding reasons why she died. When it was just some sicko that takes pleasure from killing." I feel him start shaking. Is he...? " I'm sorry (Y/n). For being an asshole these past days." He cries. " I just feel like we've could've changed her. She could've changed that snobby bitch attitude. Now she's dead. Never coming back. We can never be friends like we use to." He cries some more as I rub his back trying to comfort him. I feel bad. Should I forgive him?

// sorry it took a while! I got writers block mid way through it. Ugh. But I feel like it's getting even more spicy! How was it?? //
