After a much needed night of relaxation with her family, Wanda was feeling slightly better, slightly. Nearly a week had last since she had officially started her homeschooling again and while she was glad to have a nice environment were she could learn without her head feeling like it was being toyed with, she had nearly completed the last three weeks in the single one. The fact it's self didn't seem too bad, she would just get an extra two weeks of summer but she no longer would have the distraction of school to keep her from her true thoughts and anxieties. Tony had dropped her bracelets by the compound and Wanda had been surprised by the apology she received, and even more so when the man moved like he was going to hug her. Wanda crossed the distance wrapping her arms around him, she couldn't repair the past hurt he had caused her but they could do better going forward. She mumbled a thank you and that was that. She had started seeing her therapist again, mostly to help with the nightmares that seemed to plague her mind about her most recent trauma, which had resulted to one of her parents sleeping with her nearly every night. Melissa was as kind and helpful as always and Wanda had to admit it did feel good to be open and honest with someone who wasn't her family. Progress.
A few more weeks and she was feeling much better. Summer days seemed to be much lighter and happier and Wanda found herself filling the same ringing in Natasha and Luna's birthdays with genuine smiles and no worries. With school letting out officially Wanda found herself spending more time with her friends. It was not uncommon now for Steve or Natasha to return from training to find Wanda's friends spread out across their living room watching movies or MJ and Kate spending the night. Natasha doesn't think she could ever get tired of seeing that smile light up on her daughters face. Specifically right now, Wanda and her friends were surrounding a bonfire on the compound lawn. Sam and Bucky passing a football with the boys. Wanda, MJ, and Kate chatting with Lena on a blanket. Luna currently on top of Steve's shoulders while he helps Lia catch fireflies. She watches with contentment thinking about how far they've come, she never thought she'd be so reminiscent. A while later when the adults and children have retired Wanda and her friends roast marshmallows and laugh at their inside jokes. One by one they head back to the city until it's just Wanda and Noah left. Wanda's perfectly content to sit their with him, comfy in his arms until the fire goes out but Noah has other plans.
"Noah." Wanda pouts as he stands up from their spot on the ground
"I have a surprise for you, come on." He says offering her his hand
"What's the surprise?" Wanda asks
"Close your eyes, do you trust me?" He asks, Wanda thinks for a moment just to tease him before kissing him on cheek.
"You know I do."
"Come on then." He says rolling his eyes and pulling her along. Wanda doesn't know how far they've been walking but it's far enough that the grass is damp from the cool evening air.
"Okay, open them." He says
Wanda does, looking up at aw at all the lanterns scattered in the trees.
"Wow..." Wanda says looking around a smile gracing her lips "did you do all this?"
"I may have had some help, do you like it?" He asks taking her hand
"It looks like a movie." Wanda admits, intertwine their fingers.
"Your favorite movie." He points out smiling, Wanda smiles leaning in to kiss him which he happily returns.
"I know we didn't get prom, but I was thinking we could dance right here." He adds
Wanda shakes her head in disbelief at this boy, at this love, at this moment.
"I think you might be the sweetest person I've ever met." Wanda says as she takes his hand and he begins to lead them in a dance. "You really went through all this trouble for me?"
"You're worth it." He replies. Wanda smiles a teary smile and he catches the drops with his thumb before he pulls her in for a kiss. She laughs slightly in disbelief.
"We don't even have any music." She points out.
"That's okay." He admits. They sway for a moment before she hears his voice again.
"Now she's here shining in the starlight. Now she's hear suddenly I know. If she's here it's crystal clear I'm where I'm meant to go." He hums and his voice mixes with the sound of the crickets chirping around them. Wanda smiles contently, letting a chuckle escape her lips and he laughs too.
"I love you." She says. She didn't think her Prom would be in the middle of a clearing in the woods near her home, that she'd be wearing a pair of jean shorts and her bathing suit instead of a dress, or that the boy she loves would do all this just for her. It was a dream.
"I love you so much, Wands." He replies placing a kiss to her forehead. It was perfect.

Hi, everyone! Sorry about the wait and that this is short but I've been struggling to come up with where to take this story for awhile now but I think I finally have it figured out! I hope you enjoyed this sweet moment between Wanda and Noah! We're in the home stretch... I anticipate 2 more chapters that will be quite long to make up for this short one but don't worry you can catch more of our favorite characters in "Missing Moments". I'm currently working on the next chapter and it will be up soon, that's a promise. As always thank you all for your never ending love and support, feel free to let me know what you thought in the comments below!❤️ -Mae
