Rose De León

I still don't know why today is such a 'big day'. So far during breakfast everything seems normal even though this is my first breakfast in this house so I have no clue what 'normal' looks like.

Ryker keeps sneaking some glances at me. I see no hate or disrespect so I don't mind. Cyrus has barely touched anything on his plate nor talked.

It's mostly just Evelyn and Ryker talking, I pitch in here and there but that's it.

"So Rose, are you excited for today?" Ryker asks, drawing my attention back into what's happening at the table. "I don't know whats going on today" I reply and Ryker exchanges a look with Cyrus.

"He didn't tell you?" Ryker looks confused as he looks back at me. I notice in the corner of my eye Cyrus's eyes fall down to the table, like he's hiding something. "No?" I hesitate.

Evelyn's jaw drops a bit before she turns to face me more in her seat "You get a tour of his mafia base today, I thought he already told you" She also glances at Cyrus quickly.

We all look Cyrus and he finally looks up from the table "I didn't get around to it" He shrugs. Evelyn stands form the table with her plate "Well you better fill her in now, I'm going to go clean up" She says as she walks by him and slaps him on the shoulder.

"Ill come too" Ryker pitches in before standing up ad following her into the kitchen. I turn my attention to Cyrus after setting down my fork "You have a lot of explaining to do"

He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. I stand up from my chair and walk over to the chair next to him, sitting down. He looks back up at me and starts talking "Like you heard earlier, you get a tour of my base that's located here today. We just go in and I show you around since when we are married it will become a part of your responsibility too"

Holy moly cows on bread.

"I have to go pee, no wait I have to go solve a crime. Actually I have to go solve word hunger, yeah that's better" I ramble as I hurry away from the table. I hear his chair move and his foot steps follow after mine but I keep on walking.

"Rose, wait" He calls after me, following me up the stairs. I turn around once I reach the top, he stops in the middle of the stair case. "I don't think I'm ready for the responsibility of a whole mafia" I admit.

I am a spy for my father's mafia but that's nothing compared to having the responsibility of running and mafia. That's shit hard.

That's what she said.

A small smirk tugs at his lips as he replies "You don't have to run it, Rose. It just means you get help make some of the decisions that happen in the mafia. I still own it and I am still leader but you just help out here and there". A wave of relief floods over me and I sigh relieved.

"I'm sorry It's just that this whole thing is so new and I have no clue what I'm doing" I wave my hand in the air, gesturing to everything around us. He takes a couple more steps until he's at the top of the stairs with me, only inches away. He looks down at me and his dark brown eyes pierce through mine.

I'm hungry.

"It'll all be fine, Rose. All you have to do right now is plan a wedding, it's not that hard I've done it thousands of time" He shrugs nonchalant. My eyes widen a bit and a small smirk tugs at his lips again. "You better be joking" I point my finger at him and he just pushes it back with his hand "Obviously" He rolls his eyes as he pushes past me, knocking my shoulder as he walks by.

I turn around and he's walking to a room down the hall, almost at the door "Did you really just push me" I gasp, giving him a glare. His turns back around and looks at me "Yes, I did" He puts his hands on his waist.
