Alyssa jumped fairly soon after they entered the Tardis, she jumped to the Ninth Doctor. She sat with him in front of Rose as she told them about her dad. “That's what Mum always says. So I was thinking, could we, could we go and see my dad when he was still alive?” Rose said,
“Where's this come from, all of a sudden?” the Doctor asked,
“All right then, if we can't, if it goes against the laws of times or something, then never mind, just leave it.” Rose said,
“No, I can do anything. I'm just more worried about you.” The Doctor said,
“I want to see him.” Rose said,
“Your wish is my command.” The Doctor said,
“be careful what you wish for though Rose.” Alyssa said before she helped the Doctor pilot the Tardis back in time to Pete’s and Jackie’s Wedding.
“I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jacqueline Angela Suzette Prentice” The registrar said,
“I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jacqueline Suzanne Suzette Anita” Pete said, stumbling over her last name .
“Oh, just carry on. It's good enough for Lady Di.” Jackie said,
“I thought he'd be taller.” Rose said,
“To be my lawful wedded wife, to love and behold till death us do part.” The Registrar said, as the wedding continued.
After the Wedding they stood in the console room as Rose asked them to take her to see him when he died so he wouldn’t be alone. “I want to be that someone, so he doesn't die alone.” Rose said,
“November the 7th?” Alyssa asked as she looked at the controls of the Tardis,
“1987.” Rose confirmed before Alyssa and the Doctor piloted the Tardis once more. The three exited the Tardis,
“It's so weird. The day my father died. I thought it'd be all sort of grim and stormy. It's just an ordinary day.” Rose said
“Most tragic days are just ordinary days. it's not the weather that makes it tragic.” Alyssa muttered,
“The past is another country. 1987's just the Isle of Wight. Are you sure about this?” The Doctor asked,
“Yeah.” Rose said before they  walked towards Jordan road, where Pete died.
“This is it. Jordan Road. He was late. He'd been to get a wedding present, a vase. Mum always said, that stupid vase.” Rose said, as they watched Pete pull on to the road and parked “He got out of his car.” Rose said as what she said happened in front of them “And crossed the road. Oh, God. This is it.” she said before Alyssa through her arm around her shoulder, as a beige car came around the corner speeding the driver shields his face before he hit Pete, right after he closed his car door. they watched as the beige car sped off.
“Go to him, quick.” Alyssa said, but Rose couldn’t and ran off the two following as they stood leaning against the wall. As they listened as sirens approached
“It's too late now. By the time the ambulance got there, he was dead. He can't die on his own. Can I try again?” Rose said, and they did exactly that as they stood at a corner looking at themselves.
“Right, that's the first you and me. It's a very bad idea, two sets of us being here at the same time. Just be careful they don't see us. Wait till she runs off and he follows, then go to your dad.” The Doctor said, as they watched the first Rose say,
“Oh, God. This is it.”
“I can't do this.” Their Rose said,
“You don't have to do anything you don't want to, but this is the last time we can be here.” Alyssa said,  as Pete got out of his car and Rose ran forward past their past selves “Rose! No!” Alyssa yelled. As Rose pushed Pete out of the way of the beige car. Alyssa doubled over as a splitting headache ripped through her
“Alyssa?” the Doctor asked as he looked at her concerned, but she just shook her head, as the Doctor walked towards her, as Rose talked to her dad,
“I did it. I saved your life.” Rose said,
“Blimey, did you see the speed of it? Did you get his number?” Pete said,
“I really did it. Oh, my God, look at you. You're alive! That car was going to kill you.” Rose said, as the Alyssa tried to straighten to go forward towards the two but as soon as she took a step forward her feet fell from under her, and the Doctors words about established events ran through her that she was m0re sensitive to fixed points. After so much traveling she finally realized what he meant. The Doctor surged forward and grabbed her arm right before she tumbled to the ground. He wrapped her arm around his shoulder. He looked up at Rose who was having a conversation with her father
“Rose.” He called out, and Rose looked over at the two “Somethings wrong.” he said, and Rose looked at Alyssa and saw how she was basically leaning on him her eyes scrunched in pain.
Pete took them to his flat, “Right, there we go. Sorry about the mess.  You can lay her down in the living room.” Pete said gesturing to the living room, looking at Alyssa who was looking pale, clutching the Doctor’s side as he kept her standing. He nodded as he took her into the living room and laid her on the couch as Pete continued talking to Rose “If you want a cup of tea, the kitchens just down there, milk's in the fridge. Well, it would be, wouldn't it. Where else would you put the milk? Mind you, there's always the window sill outside. I always thought if someone invented a window sill with special compartments, you know, one for milk, one for yogurt, make a lot of money out of that. Sell it to students and things. I should write that down. Anyway, never mind that, excuse me for a minute. Got to go and change.” Pete said, before he past Rose and went into his bedroom. The Doctor was kneeled by Alyssa’s side as she closed her eyes in pain. as he contemplated what to do.
“All the stuff mum kept. His stuff. She kept it all packed away in boxes in the cupboard. She used to show me when she'd had a bit to drink. Here it is, on display. Where it should be. Third prize at the bowling.” Rose said, as she picked up a trophy “First two got to go to Didcot. Health drinks. Tonics, mum used to call them. He made his money selling this Vitex stuff. He had all sorts of jobs. He was so clever. Solar power. Mum said he was going to do this. Now he can.” but the Doctor was ignoring her
“We can take her to the hospital if you want.” Rose said, walking over,
“When we met, I said travel with me in space. You said no. Then I said time machine.” The Doctor said, barely looking at her as he realized that the reason Alyssa was in pain it was due to Rose changing a fixed point.
“It wasn't some big plan. I just saw it happening and I thought, I can stop it.” Rose said,
“I did it again. I picked another stupid ape. I should've known. It's not about showing you the universe. It never is. It's about the universe doing something for you.” The Doctor said, finally turning to her,
“So it's okay when you go to other times, and you save people's lives, but not when it's me saving my dad.” Rose said,
“I know what I'm doing, you don't. Two sets of us being there made that a vulnerable point.” The Doctor said,
“But he's alive!”
“Our entire planet died. My whole family. Do you think it never occurred to me to go back and save them?” The Doctor said,
“But it's not like I've changed history. Not much. I mean he's never going to be a world leader. He's not going to start World War Three or anything.” Rose said,
“Rose, there's a man alive in the world who wasn't alive before. An ordinary man. That's the most important thing in creation. The whole world's different because he's alive.” The Doctor said,
“What, would you rather him dead?” Rose said,
“I'm not saying that.” The Doctor said,
“No, I get it! For once, you're not the most important man in my life.”
“will you two please stop arguing,” Alyssa said as she opened her eyes and sat up her head still pounding,
“Let's see how you get on without me, then. Give me the key. The Tardis key. If I'm so insignificant, give it me back.” The Doctor said, holding his hand out to Rose. he needed to get Alyssa back to the Tardis. but not with Rose who had caused her pain to begin with.
“All right then, I will.” Rose said, as she dug the Tardis key out and handed the key over to him
“You've got what you wanted, so that's goodbye, then.” the Doctor said, turning away from her and looking at Alyssa “Can you walk?”
“I think so.” Alyssa said, as she pushed herself up and smiled at the Doctor. he held her hand out to her and he took it as the two started leaving.
“You don't scare me. I know how sad you are.”
“I was sad,” The Doctor said, “not anymore.” and Rose reeled back in shock before continuing.
“You'll be back in a minute, or you'll hang around outside the Tardis waiting for me. And I'll make you wait a long time!” she said before slamming the door after the Doctor and Alyssa left the flat.
“Are you okay?” The Doctor asked,
“my head is pounding, apparently Im really in tune to the Time Vortex so when some one changes a fixed point in time Im the one who gets the killer headache. Other then that Im fine.” Alyssa said, and the Doctor nodded at her.
“Let’s get to the Tarids and maybe I can give you a proper look.” He said and she nodded They approached the Tardis as Alyssa racked her head for whether or not this was an episode. She finally realized it was as the two felt someone watching them as they approached the Tardis. The Doctor looked up at the tree behind them before turning around and unlocking the Tardis. he opened both doors to find just a normal Wooden box. He entered it as Alyssa leaned against the wood.
“Rose.” the Doctor said, as he took off running Alyssa followed after him. They ran to the church to see Rose, her dad and a group of people outside of the church.
“Rose! Get in the church!” The Doctor yelled out, and Rose turned around and smiled. Alyssa started running faster as the three looked over and saw a being with large wings appeared in the sky it hissed at Rose and swooped down to get her just as Alyssa passed her and grabbed her arm pulling her out of the way,
“Get in the church!” The Doctor yelled, as they got up and started running forward, the group also running, before two more appeared,
“Oh, my God. What are they? What are they?” A female said
“Get inside!” Alyssa said,
“Sarah!” A man yelled before trying to run forward to them,
“Stay in there!” The Doctor yelled and the man stopped. As another man ran off and was taken by one of the monsters. Sarah ran forward before another monster stopped in front of her, causing her to scream, before the monster took a different person
“In!” The Doctor yelled and everyone ran inside the church and the Doctor slammed the doors closed behind them. “ They can't get in. Old windows and doors. Okay. The older something is, the stronger it is. What else? Go and check the other doors! Move!”
“What's happening? What are they? What are they?” Jackie said running up to the Doctor,
“There's been an accident in time. A wound in time. They're like bacteria, taking advantage.” The Doctor said,
“What do you mean, time? What're you jabbering on about, time?” Jackie said,
“Oh, I might've known you'd argue. Jackie, I'm sick of you complaining.” The Doctor said,
“How do you know my name?” Jackie said,
“I haven't got time for this.” The Doctor said,
“I've never met you in my life!” Jackie said,
“No, and you never will unless I sort this out. Now, if you don't mind, I've waited a long time to say this. Jackie Tyler, do as I say. Go and check the doors.” The Doctor said
“Yes, sir.” Jackie said, befor eshe walked off
“thank you she was actually making the headache worse.” Alyssa said, rubbing her head,
“I should have done that ages ago.” The Doctor agreed,
“My dad was out there.” A man said, walking up to Alyssa and the Doctor,
“You can mourn him later. Right now we've got to concentrate on keeping ourselves alive.” The Doctor said,
“My dad had” The man started omly for the Doctor to interrupt him again.
“There's nothing I can do for him.” The Doctor said,
“No, but he had this phone thing. I can't get it to work. I keep getting this voice.” The man said holding the phone out to the Doctor, who took it and dialed a number,
“Watson, come here. I need you. Watson, come here. I need you.” was the only thing that came from the phone.
“That's the very first phone call. Alexander Graham Bell. I don't think the telephone's going to be much use.” the Doctor said, hanging up and handing the phone back to him,
“But someone must have called the police.”
“Unfortunately the Police can’t help you,” Alyssa said,
“No one can. Nothing in this universe can harm those things. Time's been damaged and they've come to sterilise the wound. By consuming everything inside.” the Doctor added, walking towards the group and stopping in front of Rose.
“Is this because? Is this my fault?” Rose asked, but he didn’t answer as he passed her, Alyssa sitting down and putting her head in her hands as she closed her eyes in pain. as the Doctor ran to another room. Before coming back to secure more of the doors.
“Excuse me, Mister” the man asked,
“Doctor.” the Doctor responded opening up a door and soncicing the door that lead outside.
“You seem to know what's going on.” he asked,
“I give that impression, yeah.” the Doctor said,
“I just wanted to ask” The man started before Sarah interuppted him,
“Can you save us?” She asked, causing the Doctor to walk over, Alyssa looking up from where she was sitting.
“Who are you two, then?”
“Stuart Hoskins.” Stuart said,
“Sarah Clark.” Sarah said,
“And one extra. Boy or girl?” the Doctor said, noticing that Sarah was pregnant.
“I don't know. I don't want to know, really.” Sarah said,
“How did all this get started?” The Doctor asked, talking about their relationship.
“Outside the Beatbox Club, two in the morning.” Stuart said,
“Street corner. I'd lost my purse, didn't have money for a taxi.” Sarah said,
“I took her home.” Stuart added,
“Then what? Asked her for a date?” The Doctor said,
“Wrote his number on the back of my hand.” Sarah sadi,
“ Never got rid of her since. My dad said.” Stuart finished,
“I don't know what this is all about, and I know we're not important.” Sarah added,
“Nobody not one person on this earth is unimportant.” Alyssa said, standing up and walking over,
“We've travelled to all sorts of places, done things you couldn't even imagine, but you two. Street corner, two in the morning, getting a taxi home. I've never had a life like that. Yes. I'll try and save you.” The Doctor said,
“We’ll try to save you.” Alyssa said, taking the Doctor’s said, The Doctor and Alyssa split up trying to secure the church and figure out how to save everyone in the church.
“Miss, I understand you are trying to help us, but I was wondering if you could watch Rose for a little bit.” Jackie said,
“Of course.” Alyssa said smiling at her as Jackie put down the baby carrier next to her and Alyssa smiled at her,
“Now, Rose you're not going to bring about the end of the world, are you? Are you?” Alyssa said, putting her hand into the carrier and allowed Rose to grab ahold of it, as the Doctor walked up.
“Jackie gave her to me to look after.”Alyssa said, looking at the two of them
“How times change.” the Doctor added, making Alyssa smile at him “you feeling okay?”
“Yeah of course, I mean Im feeling as best as I could be. but there's more pressing matter.” Alyssa muttered
“Don’t do that.” The Doctor said,
“Don’t do what?”
“Brush yourself to the side, you’re just as important as the rest of them., you sure you’re okay,” The Doctor said, causing Alyssa to look at him, a small smile on her face.
“Yes.” Alyssa said, as Rose walked up.
“I'd better be careful. I think I just imprinted myself on Mickey like a mother chicken.” Rose said,
“That sounds just like Mickey.” Alyssa said, before Rose reached for the baby, causing Alyssa to grab her arm. just as the creatures around them cried out.
“No don’t touch the baby. You're both the same person. That's a paradox, and we don't want a paradox happening, not with these things outside. Anything new, any disturbance in time makes them stronger. The paradox might let them in.” Alyssa said,
“Can't do anything right, can I?” Rose said,
“Since you ask, no. So, don't touch the baby.” The Doctor said,
“I'm not stupid.” Rose said,
“You could have fooled me.” The Doctor started
“Are you really going to start arguing again? We are trapped in a church and you guys are going to argue again?” Alyssa half-yelled, her head immediately protesting she put her hand to her head and let out a groan, “Please just no more arguing.” She finished
“All right,” The Doctor said before turning back to Rose “I'm sorry. I wasn't really going to leave you on your own. I just wanted…” The Doctor started, looking at Alyssa,
“I know.” Rose said, turning to Alyssa “You okay? I can’t help thinking the reason your like that is my fault.” she said,
“don’t worry about it.” Alyssa muttered, making the Doctor frown at her,
“Between you, Alyssa and me, I haven't got a plan. No idea. No way out.” The Doctor said,
“You'll think of something.” Alyssa said,
“The entire Earth's been sterilised. This, and other place like it, are all that's left of the human race. We might hold out for a while, but nothing can stop those creatures. They'll get through in the end. The walls aren't that old. And there's nothing I can do to stop them. There used to be laws stopping this kind of thing from happening. My people would have stopped this. But they're all gone. And now I'm going the same way.” the Doctor said,
“If I'd realised.” Rose said,
“Just tell us you’re sorry.” Alyssa said,
“I am. I'm sorry.” Rose said, and the three hugged, before Alyssa hissed back
“Have you got something hot?” she asked, before she reached into his coat and brought out the Tardis key that was glowing hot before she hissed and dropped it again,
“It's the Tardis key!” The Doctor said, taking off his jacket and picked it up “It's telling me it's still connected to the Tardis.” The Doctor beamed before he ran off to address the whole group “The inside of my ship was thrown out of the wound but we can use this to bring it back. And once I've got my ship back, then I can mend everything. Now, I just need a bit of power. Has anybody got a battery?”
“This one big enough?” Stuart said, holding up the phone battery,
“Fantastic.” The Doctor said, as The Doctor and Alyssa rushed forward and took the phone.
“Good old dad. There you go.” Stuart said,
“Just need to do a bit of charging up and then we can bring everyone back.” The Doctor said, as he brought out Sonic Screwdriver out. and used it before he put it in the air “Right, no one touches that key. Have you got that? Don't touch it. Anyone touches that key, it'll be, well, zap. Just leave it be and everything will be fine. We'll get out of here. All of us. Stuart, Sarah you're going to get married, just like I said.” The Doctor said to the whole group. before they watched the Tardis start materializing. The Doctor, Alyssa Rose and Pete all sat at the back of the church.
“When time gets sorted out” Rose started,
“Everybody here forgets what happened. And don't worry, the thing that you changed will stay changed.” The Doctor said,
“You mean I'll still be alive, though I'm meant to be dead. That's why I haven't done anything with my life, why I didn't mean anything.” Pete said,
“It doesn't work like that.” Alyssa said,
“Rubbish. I'm so useless I couldn't even die properly. Now it's my fault all of this has happened.” Pete said,
“This is my fault.” Rose said,
“No, love. I'm your dad. It's my job for it to be my fault.” Pete said,
“Her dad? How are you her dad? How old were you, twelve? Oh, that's disgusting.” Jackie said, who had wandered to back,
“Jacks, listen. This is Rose.” Pete said,
“Rose? How sick is that? You give my daughter a second hand name? How many are there? Do you call them all Rose?” Jackie said,
“Oh, for God's sake, look. It's the same Rose!” Pete said, before he took baby Rose and pushed her into Rose’s arms,
“Rose NO!” Alyssa yelled, as a creature appeared in the church as the Doctor ripped baby Rose from Rose’s arm.
“Everyone, behind me!” The Doctor said, as the group got behind him, “I'm the oldest thing in here.” The Doctor said,
“Doctor!” Rose yelled, and as the creature dived towards the Doctor Alyssa watched the next section in slow motion as she dived forward and pushed the Doctor out of the way at the last minute. the Doctor fell to the ground barely realizing what happened as the creature flew to the Tardis and took it too. he froze as the Rose ran up to the key that had dropped,
“It's cold. The key's cold. Oh, my God, she's dead. This is all my fault. Both of you. All of you. The whole world.” Rose said, as Pete hugged her
“Doctor what do we do now?” Rose said, as she watched the Doctor get up his face blank.
“I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.” he admitted before he walked away and sat down staring at where Alyssa once stood.
“This is it. There's nothing we can do. It's the end.” a woman said as the creatures started scrapping at the walls, only looking up when Pete walked up to Rose.
Alyssa and the Doctor really cared about you. They didn't want you to go through it again, not if there was another way. Now there isn't.” Pete said,
“What are you talking about?”  Rose said,
“The car that should have killed me, love. It's here. The Doctor worked it out way back, but he, er, he tried to protect me. Still, he's not in charge anymore. I am.” Pete said, looking at the Doctor who nodded, Rose crying as she realized it was really the only way out.
“But you can't.” Rose said, before Pete put his hands on her cheek.
“Who am I, love?” Pete said,
“My daddy.” Rose said, as Jackie walked up to the two.
“Jackie, look at her. She's ours.” Pete said, and Jackie looked at Rose, before realizing the truth.
“Oh, of course.” Jackie said, before hugging Rose.
“I'm meant to be dead, Jackie. You're going to get rid of me at last.” Pete said, once Jackie broke away from Rose,
“Don't say that.” Jackie said,
“For once in your life, trust me. It's got be done. You've got to survive, because you've got to bring up our daughter.” Pete said to Jackie before turning to Rose. “I never read you those bedtime stories. I never took you on those picnics. I was never there for you.”,
“You would have been.” Rose said,
“But I can do this for you. I can be a proper dad to you now.” Pete said,
“But it's not fair.” Rose said,
“I've had all these extra hours. No one else in the world has ever had that. And on top of that, I got to see you. And you're beautiful. How lucky am I, eh? So, come on, do as your dad says.” Pete said, before Rose leaned over picked up the vase that was supposed to be broken and handed it to him. “You going to be there for me, love? Thanks for saving me.” Pete said, before he rushed out of the Church. The Doctor finally got up as he and Rose walked out and watched Pete get hit by the car once again. This time the driver got out. Alyssa walked up behind the two and took Rose’s hand
“Go to him. Quick.” She said, and Rose did exactly that, and as soon as she ran forward, Alyssa was enveloped in a hug by the Doctor,
“Stop throwing yourself into unnecessary danger.” He muttered,
“No promises Doc.” Alyssa said, wrapping her arms around him hearing the Doctor chuckle
“Stop calling me Doc.”
“Yeah that’s not gonna happen.” she said, before they broke apart and walked forward, hand in hand as Rose stood up and looked at the two of them. Before following the two to the Tardis.
Alyssa sat in the driver’s seat after Rose had run off, “you pushed me out of the way. you threw yourself into unnecessary danger.” The Doctor said,
“Yeah well you were going to do the same thing. you were going to let yourself be taken.”
“That’s different.”
“Doc, you sacrifice yourself for so many people, why is it so wrong someone wants to do it for you?” Alyssa asked, walking over to him,
“Because nobody should.” The Doctor said, looking down at the Console
“Tough because now you have me and you deserve it you save so many people, you forget that sometimes you also need to be saved.” Alyssa said, as she felt the familar headache of her jumping the Doctor looked up from the console to see golden flecks dancing through the air where she once was.
