Alyssa watched the chanting Daleks before one of them turned to her. "You know the Doctor. You understand him. You will predict his actions."
"Yeah that's not going to happen." Alyssa said,
"Predict! Predict! Predict!" the daleks started chanting,
"Tardis detected in flight." Another dalek said,
"Launch missiles. Exterminate." another dalek said, and Alyssa smiled
"that's not going to work." She said in a singy voice.
"You have predicted incorrectly." a dalek said, turning towards her,
"Wanna bet?" She said, as the Tardis started materializing around her and the dalek.
"Alyssa, get down! Get down, Alyssa!" The Doctor yelled and Alyssa immediately dropped to the floor.
"Exterminate!" The dalek yelled out shooting up, but not hitting anything. Before Jack fired his gun and destroyed it. Alyssa got up and looked at the destroyed Dalek
"you did it." She muttered, before she turned back to the Doctor who has walked over to her, and took her in a hug.
"Always love a hug from you. I was afraid I would never see you again." Alyssa said, hugging him back,
"I told you I'd come and get you." The Doctor said, pulling away from her.
"Never doubted it." Alyssa said, smiling at the Doctor.
"I did. You all right?" The Doctor said,
"Yeah. didn't expect to be hit by the beam. I thought I would've been faster. Are you alright?"
"Not bad, been better." The Doctor said,
"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jack called out as he walked over to Alyssa,
"Oh of course!" Alyssa said, moving to give Jack a hug.
"I was talking to him." Jack said, before he hugged Alyssa anyway, "Welcome home."
"Yeah," She said before she turned to Rose, and took her into a hug,
"Oh, I thought I'd never see you again." Rose said,
"beam me into a dalek fleet with the Doctor at my back? easy." Alyssa said, before turning back to the gun Jack put down
"can't use that anymore?" Alyssa muttered,
"That was just a one shot wonder. Drained the gun of all its power supply. Now it's just a piece of junk." Jack said,
"You said they were extinct. How comes they're still alive?" Rose said,
"One minute they're the greatest threat in the Universe, the next minute they vanished out of time and space." Jack said,
"they didn't vanish out of time and space." Alyssa started, looking back at the Doctor.
"They went off to fight a bigger war. The Time War." The Doctor finished,
"I thought that was just a legend." Jack said
"We were there." Alyssa said,
"The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords, with the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them. I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing." The Doctor said,
"There's thousands of them now. We could hardly stop one. What're we going to do?" Rose said,
"Not stand around." Alyssa said, as she started towards the door. Before she stopped and looked back at the Doctor.
"Human race, you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers. Let's go and meet the neighbours." The Doctor said, as he walked over grabbed her hand and opened the door and the two walked out,
"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Daleks cried out before they fired only for a force field to block the blasts.
"Is that it? Useless! Nul points." The Doctor started before he turned back to the others. "It's all right, come on out. That forcefield can hold back anything." Rose and Jack stepped out of the Tardis.
"Almost anything." Jack said,
"yes but we weren't going to tell them that." Alyssa said,
"Sorry." Jack said,
"Do you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Homeworld? The Oncoming Storm." the Doctor started, only for Alyssa to interrupt him,
"Oh also I think you should be very careful who you hit with your transmat beam. Hello Im Alyssa Smith but you would know me better as the Golden Angel." Alyssa said,
"Exterminate." The Daleks called again, firing again only to hit the forcefield again.
"not so clever now are you? you already tried that and it didn't work." Alyssa said, "Almost like I was hidden in plain sight before the Tardis came and grabbed me." Alyssa said, taking off her perception filter off. "just enough of a filter to block even a basic dalek. It weird though you are usually more clever then that. Now that you know there is still that small bit of fear." Alyssa finished looking at the Doctor.
"You might've removed all your emotions but I reckon right down deep in your DNA, there's one little spark left, and that's fear Alyssa was right. Doesn't it just burn when you face us? So tell me. How did you survive the Time War?" The Doctor said,
"They survived through me." a voice said, Causing Alyssa and the Doctor to turn around to see a big dalek casing a dalek at the center of it, which the four walked over too.
"Rose, Captain, this is the Emperor of the Daleks." The Doctor said,
"You destroyed us, Doctor. The Dalek race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive." The Emperor said,
"I get it." the Doctor said,
"Do not interrupt." all the daleks said,
"I think you're forgetting something. I'm the Doctor, and if there's one thing I can do, it's talk. I've got five billion languages, and you haven't got one way of stopping me.So if anybody's going to shut up, it's you!" The Doctor yelled turning around, making the Daleks roll back. before he turned to the emperor. "Okey doke. So, where were we?
"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth, harvesting the waste of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed. They all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted. The seed of the human race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured." The Emperor said,
"So you created an army of Daleks out of the dead." The Doctor said,
"That makes them half human." Rose said,
"Those words are blasphemy." The Emperor said,
"Do not blaspheme." the daleks repeated,
"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek." The emperor said,
"Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?" the Doctor said,
"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks!" the emperor said,
"Worship him. Worship him. Worship him." The Daleks said,
"They're insane. Hiding in silence for hundreds of years, that's enough to drive anyone mad. But it's worse than that. Driven mad by your own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence. And that makes them more deadly than ever. We're going." The Doctor said, taking Alyssa's hand and started back toward the Tardis,
"You may not leave my presence." the Emperor said,
"Stay where you are." A Dalek said,
"Exterminate!" The other daleks yelled, as the Daleks started firing lasers at the group that were all blocked by the Tardis's forcefield, before they entered the Tardis. The Doctor and Alyssa entering last, the Doctor turned around and put his head to the door, Alyssa walked up to him and pressed her hand to arm. Almost wheeling back when the Doctor whipped around, before his arms wrapped around her and took her into a hug, Alyssa returning the hug.
They soon piloted the Tardis back to the station. "Turn everything up. All transmitters full power, wide open. Now! Do it!" The Doctor said, rushing out of the Tardis.
"What does this do?" Davitch said,
"Stops the Daleks from transmatting on board. How did you get on? Did you contact Earth?" The Doctor said,
"Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programmes." Davitch said,
"And the planet's just sitting there, defenceless." the Doctor said, befor ehe turned to Lynda who was still on board. "Lynda, what're you still doing on board? I told you to evacuate everyone." the Doctor said,
"She wouldn't go." Davitch said,
"Didn't want to leave you." Lynda said,
"There weren't enough shuttles anyway, or I wouldn't be here. We've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero." the woman said,
"Oh, my God. The Fleet is moving. They're on their way." Davitch said, and they watched the ships start moving. The Doctor and Alyssa ran over to the desk and started pulling out wires.
"Dalek plan. Big mistake, because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, come on, it's obvious. A great big transmitter. This station. If we can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it, anyone?" The Doctor started,
"You've got to be kidding." Jack said, as he realized what they were doing.
"Give the man a medal." the Doctor said,
"A Delta Wave?" Jack said,
"A Delta Wave!" The Doctor said, as the two continued to rip out wires.
"What's a Delta Wave?" Rose asked,
"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy. It fries your brain. Stand in the way of a Delta Wave and your head gets barbequed." Jack said,
"And this place can transmit a massive wave. Wipe out the Daleks! " the Doctor said,
"Well, get started and do it then." Lynda said,
"there's a problem even with the two of us doing it, the wave this big, it would take 3 days." Alyssa said,
"How long till the Fleet arrive?" the Doctor said,
"Twenty two minutes." Davitch said, and they started pulling wires out faster.
"so we need to move faster." Alyssa said,
While the Doctor and Alyssa, worked on making the wave. While the other four were at the computer.
"We've now got a forcefield so they can't blast us out of the sky, but that doesn't stop the Daleks from physically invading." Jack said,
"Do they know about the Delta Wave?" Davitch said,
"They'll have worked it out at the same time. So, they want to stop the Doctor. That means they've got to get to this level, five hundred. Now, I can concentrate the extrapolator around the top six levels, five hundred to four nine five. So they'll penetrate the station below that at level four nine four and fight their way up." Jack said,
"Who are they fighting?" Davitch said,
"Us." Jack said,
"And what are we fighting with?" Davitch asked,
"The guards had guns with bastic bullets. That's enough to blow a Dalek wide open." Jack said,
"There's five of us." the woman said,
"Rose, you can help us. I need all these wires stripping bare." The Doctor called out,
"Right, now there's four of us." the woman said,
"Then let's move it. Into the lift. Isolate the lift controls." Jack said, and Davith and the woman ran off.
"I just want to say, er, thanks, I suppose, and I'll do my best." Lynda said, looking at the Doctor.
"Me too." The Doctor said, and they shook hands before she walked off.
"It's been fun, but I guess this is goodbye." Jack said,
"Don't talk like that. The Doctor's going to do it. You just watch him." Rose said,
"Rose, you are worth fighting for." Jack said, before he kissed her and then turned to the Doctor. "Wish I'd never met you, Doctor. I was much better off as a coward." he continued kissing the Doctor as well. Before he turned to Alyssa
"if you kiss me I swear I will karate chop your neck." Alyssa said, but he suprised her by wrapping his arms around her
"Oh I would never kiss you like that Ally you're too much like a little sister to me."
"Only the Doctor can call me Ally, and I am so much more older then you." Alyssa said, but chuckled as she hugged him back
"Yeah I know but you are still my little sister," Jack said, before he kissed her head and pulled away looking at the others. "See you in hell." before he left the room.
"He's going to be all right, isn't he?" Rose asked,
"Of course he is." Alyssa said, before the group went back to working on the Delta wave.
"Suppose." Rose said, after a while of them working on the delta wave.
"What?" The Doctor said,
"Nothing." Rose said,
"It's not nothing you said suppose." Alyssa said,
"No, I was just thinking. I mean, obviously you can't, but, you've got a time machine. Why can't you just go back to last week and warn them?" Rose said,
"As soon as the Tardis lands in that second, I become part of events, stuck in the timeline." The Doctor said,
"Yeah, thought it'd be something like that" Rose said,
"There's another thing the Tardis could do. It could take us away. We could leave. Let history take its course. We go to Marbella in 1989." The Doctor said, looking between Rose and Alyssa.
"but we would never do that, you would never do that." Alyssa said,
"No, but you could ask. Never even occurred to you, did it?" The Doctor said,
"Never would ask." Alyssa said,
"Well, I'm just too good." Rose said,
"The Delta Wave's started building. How long does it need?" The Doctor said, getting up and rushed over to a computer, the other two following. the Doctor's face fell, and he leaned forward disappointed.
"Is that bad? Okay, it's bad. How bad is it?" Rose said, before the Doctor jumped up.
"Rose Tyler, you're a genius!" The Doctor said, kissing Rose's head, Alyssa about to follow as Rose ran after him before she studdered to a stop. She watched as the Doctor soon rushed back out before he stopped looked at her and back at the Tardis and brought out his Sonic screwdriver, and activated it. Starting the time rotor and sending Rose away. He ran a hand down his face before he turned to Alyssa and rushed over to her. The Doctor took her arm hard and started sonicing her vortex manipulator,
"Doctor what are you doing." Alyssa said trying to peel her arm from his grasp but he just grabbed it harder,
"Doctor?" She said, which finally made him look at her,
"Im sorry." He said before he started punching in coordinates, and what was going on finally came upon her, he was sending her away, just like he just did with Rose.
"NO!" She yelled as the Doctor pressed a button and she was sucked away, she landed on earth, as she fell to her knees, The Sound of the Tardis cut through her sobs. she looked behind her and watched as Rose stumbled out. "no." She muttered once more.
"Alyssa?" Rose said, as she walked out and put an hand on her shoulder. which made her look up and rush up and into the Tardis. before she started trying the coordinates where the Doctor was. only for the Tardis to groan as something stopped it.
"No!" She yelled kicking the Tardis,
"Alyssa." the Doctor's voice said, and Alyssa looked up at the hologram "if you are seeing this message it means I sent you and Rose away and you just tried to pilot the tardis back to me. But emergency programme one was activated, I added an extra measure, I locked the coordinates of the last place the Tardis landed before landing on earth. You can not come back."
"NO!" Alyssa yelled,
"and I bet your fussing and moaning now typical! but please listen to me. The Tardis cannot return to me because this programme also means that Im facing an enemy that can't get this machine. You know it too, but I leave the tardis to you. I am dead or am about to die so I leave the tardis to you. Travel the universe Alyssa." the hologram said before it turned to her "Travel the Universe and have a good life Alyssa do that for me, even take Rose with you, have a fantastic life."
"I hate you." She muttered as tears washed down her face more.
"No you don't" she heard the Doctor's hologram say before it switched off.
"You can't do this to me" Alyssa muttered before she started trying to pilot the tardis back to the Doctor. Trying to break the lock the Doctor placed, but she couldn't.
"Alyssa?" Rose said, as she finally reentered the Tardis.
"you can't!" Alyssa yelled once more,
"What's wrong?" Rose said, and Alyssa slammed her hands on the Tardis.
"The Doctor locked the coordinates of the last place the Tardis landed before landing on earth. That was satellite five. I can't get back to him. I can still use the Tardis; I just can't get back to him." Alyssa said, before she kicked the console. "Whats the use of giving me the Tardis if I can't save you!"
"did that help?" Rose said, as tears rolled down her face too.
"No." Alyssa said,
"did it hurt?" Rose said,
"Yes." Alyssa said, before she walked over to the pilot seat and collapsed into it before she started rubbing her foot. as tears ran down her face.
"Alyssa," Rose said, before she walked over to her, Alyssa said nothing as she just stared at the console. Rose took a step forward, and grabbed her hand before pulling on her hand, Alyssa standing up from the pull and followed Rose out of the Tardis. as Mickey Smith ran to the Tardis.
"I knew it! I was all the way down Clifton Parade, and I heard the engines. I thought, there's only one thing that makes a noise like that." Mickey said, before he saw the look on both Rose's and Alyssa's face. "What is it?" Mickey asked, looking between Alyssa and Rose. Rose just turned to him and shook his head, and he hugged the two.
The three of them got Jackie and then went to a cafe. Jackie and Mickey eating but Rose and Alyssa staring out the window.
"And it's gone up market, this place. They're doing little tubs of coleslaw, now. It's not very nice. It tastes a bit sort of clinical." Jackie said, talking to Mickey,
"Have you tried that new pizza place down Minto Road?" Mickey said,
"What's it selling?" Jackie said,
"Pizza." Mickey said,
"That's nice. Do they deliver?" Jackie said,
"Yeah." Mickey said,
"Oh, Rose, Alyssa have something to eat."
"Im not hungry." Rose said,
"Two hundred thousand years in the future, he's dying, and there's nothing I can do." Alyssa muttered,
"Well, like you said two hundred thousand years. It's way off." Jackie said
"Time isn't what you think Jackie it's not a linear line it's actually a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey-wimey stuff." Alyssa said, before her face fell, as she quoted the doctor. "It's happening right now for him, and what are we doing? Sitting here eating chips."
"Well God knows I have hated that man, but right now, I love him and do you know why? Because he did the right thing. He sent you Rose back to me. and Alyssa if he's dying he saved your life by sending you here."
"Yeah to live without him it's not worth it." Alyssa muttered
"But what do I do every day, mum? What do I do? Get up, catch the bus, go to work, come back home, eat chips and go to bed? Is that it?" Rose said,
"Its what the rest of us do." Mickey said,
"Just because you can do something every day Mickey doesn't mean the rest of us can." Alyssa said, Rose nodding with her,
"Why, because you're better than us?" Mickey said,
"No, but it was a better life." Alyssa said,
"you can still go do it, you can pilot the Tardis, you can still go traveling." Mickey said
"Without him it's not worth it." Alyssa said, going back to staring out the window.
"It was a better life. And I don't mean all the travelling and seeing aliens and spaceships and things. That don't matter. The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. You know he showed you too. That you don't just give up. You don't just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away." Rose said, and Alyssa pushed her way out of the seat and ran out of the cafe. "We just can't," Rose finished before she followed after her. finding her sitting down on a bench.
"We can go we can go traveling without him, Alyssa," Rose asked,
"No it's not worth it." Alyssa said,
"but why is it not worth it Alyssa?"
"exactly what you said in the bar, he shows you a way of better living your life. thats all him thats never going to be me, even if I do stop jumping, because of this. that was never me and I can't pick up where he left off just because he died, I..." Alyssa said,
"you what?" Rose said
"I love him Rose, been fighting those feelings for a while now. But now I know it to be true. I love him and to just pick up where he left off. I can't, I can never do that." Alyssa said, before she started sobbing again Rose wrapping her arm around her shoulder. she looked around as she sobbed and her sobs stopped as she looked at the words in front of her.
"Oh my god." She muttered,
"What." Rose said, as Alyssa pushed herself up and continued looking at the words around her, walking forward before she looked around seeing more of the words.
"Bad wolf." she muttered,
"What does that mean?" Rose said, as Mickey joined them,
"I was thinking of something I could do... I thought it was impossible, but seeing these words now..."
"What does it mean?" Rose asked it mean,
"It's a link between me and the Doctor. I am so stupid. I said, it was wrapped up in me not him, why would I have said those words? because even then I knew. I can get back to him! Mickey come on Im going to need your car." Alyssa yelled before she ran off to the Tardis. the two others following.
"Ok, Rose, Mickey you know how I jump through the Doctor's timeline?"
"yeah," Rose said,
"It's because I have the time vortex in me, and it's the only way to safely expel it, if I were to give that a jump start by opening up the time vortex and absorbing it. I can use that to break the lock the Doctor put on the Tardis and get back to him." Alyssa said, tapping on the middle console.
"Oh my god." Rose said,
"Now you're getting it!" Alyssa said in glee,
"what?" Mickey said,
"Last time I saw you, with the Slitheen, this middle bit opened, and there was this light, and the Doctor said it was the heart of the Tardis. Alyssa is saying that was the Time Vortex. If she can use that, she can go back! but last time the Doctor could just open it. why would you need Mickey's car?"
"the Tardis was already in distress then, due to the wormhole opening up. we need to force it open this time." Alyssa
"Rose, Alyssa," Mickey said,
"yes?" both of them said in different ways.
"If you go back, you're going to die." Mickey
"Rose isn't coming with me, Sorry Rose, but if we are going to do this I need to know you are here safe."
"Okay." Rose nodded,
"but you will still die." Mickey said, looking at Alyssa.
"Maybe I will die, but Mickey you know what it's like to watch the person you love most in the world leave you behind. you rather stay with that person in any way. that's me and the Doctor. I can't live without him, and I rather die with him then live without himSo please help me get this open." Alyssa said
"Okay." Mickey said,
"Thank you." Alyssa said, before the three started working, Mickey soon putting a chain on the middle console and attaching it to his car before getting in it and pulling it open Rose near the door.
"Faster!" Alyssa yelled out, Rose relaying the message to Mickey. before the chain was pulled off. "No!" Alyssa yelled, turning around and leaning on the console.
She sat against the console and stared away, from the three. "It was never going to work. And the Doctor knew that. He just wanted you to be safe." Jackie said,
"Jackie if you can't help me don't say anything." Alyssa muttered,
"Lock the door. Walk away." Jackie just continued,
"Jackie would you give up if it was someone you loved on the other side, someone you loved that you were trying to save. Would you just give up?" Alyssa said, but Jackie said nothing jus looked at the job.
"Dad wouldn't give up." Rose said,
"Well, he's not here, is he? And even if he was, he'd say the same." Jackie said,
"No, he wouldn't. He'd tell me to try anything. If we could save the Doctor's life, try anything." Rose said,
"Well, we're never going to know." Jackie said,
"Well, I know because I met him. I met Dad." Rose said,
"Don't be ridiculous." Jackie said,
"The Doctor took me back in time, and I met Dad." Rose said,
"Don't say that." Jackie said,
"Remember when Dad died? There was someone with him. A girl, a blonde girl. She held his hand. You saw her from a distance, Mum. You saw her! Think about it. That was me. You saw me." Rose said, while crying,
"Stop it." Jackie said,
"That's how good the Doctor is." Rose said,
"Stop it! Just stop it!" Jackie said, and ran out of the Tardis.
"There's got to be something else we can do." Mickey said, as they leaned against mickey's door. "Mum was right. Maybe we should just lock the door and walk away." Rose said,
"Don't listen to your mom Rose." Alyssa muttered,
"Yeah I'm not having that. I'm not having you just, just give up now. No way. We just need something stronger than my car. Something bigger." Mickey started before he looked up and saw a yellow truck. "Something like that." Mickey finished, as the driver parked the truck and got out, it was Jackie.
"Right, you've only got this until six o'clock, so get on with it."
"Mum, where the hell did you get that from?" Rose said,
"Rodrigo. He owes me a favour. Never mind why, but you were right about your dad, sweetheart. He was full of mad ideas, and it's exactly what he would've done." Jackie said before turning to Alyssa "I should know when I'm looking at someone trying to get back to their love. and I would be a fool to stand in the way of it. Now, get on with it before I change my mind."
"Thank you Jackie." Alyssa said, before they hitched the truck to the console and started trying to open it again.
"Keep going!" Alyssa yelled as she gave directions. the others relaying the instructions "Faster She yelled, as she barely saw the middle panel move. "Keep going!" Alyssa yelled as she continued yelling instructions before the panel finally pulled open "This better work." Alyssa muttered before she stepped in front of the panel and looked into the time vortex. light streaming into her eyes.
"Alyssa!" she heard the others shout. but she twisted her hand and the Tardis doors slammed closed before she made the lock the Doctor placed, disappear and the Tardis took off back towards the satellite five. Alyssa stepped out of the Tardis, and looked at the Doctor. silhouetted with light.
"What've you done?" The Doctor said, falling to the floor.
"I looked into the Tardis, and the Tardis looked into me." Alyssa said,
"You looked into the Time Vortex. Alyssa, no one's meant to see that."
"It was already in me." Alyssa said,
"This is the Abomination!" the Emperor said,
"Exterminate!" One of the Daleks yelled, firing a laser at Alyssa who just brought up her hand and stopped the beam. Sending it back into the laser of the gun. As gold started glowing in her eyes.
"I am the Golden Angel, I start this, I create myself. I take the words bad wolf and scatter them in time and space. A message to lead me here." Alyssa said, waving her hand the letters of Bad wolf flying off the wall.
"Alyssa, you've got to stop this. You've got to stop this now. You've got the entire vortex running through your head. You're going to burn."
"I want you safe. My Doctor. Protected from the false god." Alyssa said
"You cannot hurt me. I am immortal." the emperor said
"you are not a god, and you are tiny. I can see the whole of time and space. There has been too much death here.I let you live once. I will not make the same mistake twice. I see every single atom of your existence, and I divide them." Alyssa said, raising her hand and a dalek started disintegrating. "Everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies. The Time War ends." Raising her arms to her side, the rest of the daleks disintegrating.
"I will not die. I cannot die!" The Emperor protested, as all the ships disintegrated, including the emperor.
"Alyssa, you've done it. Now stop. Just let go." The Doctor said,
"One more thing." Alyssa said, before she brought Jack back to life, who had died from a dalek beam "I bring life."
"But this is wrong! You can't control life and death."
"But I can. The sun and the moon, the day and night. The time lords created me to be this. but why does it hurt?" Alyssa said, as a headache started running through her head.
"Alyssa you got to let it go! The power's going to kill you and it's my fault." The Doctor protested, and Alyssa turned back to the Tardis and held her hands towards it, trying to let the vortex go.
"I can't" Alyssa muttered,
"Alyssa?" The Doctor said, seeing what she was trying to do, and Alyssa turned back to the Doctor,
"I can't let go of it. My head," Alyssa said,
"Come here." the Doctor said, standing up.
"It's killing me" Alyssa muttered, before the Doctor walked forward towards ger,
"I think you need a Doctor." the Doctor said, before he kissed her forcefully taking the time vortex from her, the golden light leaving her eyes and going into his. the Doctor pulled away from her as the last of the vortex left her, and went into the vortex. the Doctor caught Alyssa as she fell unconscious. He gently put her down on the ground before he stood up and let go of the Time Vortex flowing back into the Tardis, and the doors closed. he leaned back down to Alyssa, and stroked her cheek. Before he picked her up and took her into the Tardis. before placing her down, before he piloted the Tardis away.
Later she woke up and put a hand to her head, and groaned. "What happened?" She asked
"Don't you remember?" The Doctor asked, as the memories slowly came back to Alyssa
"yes," she said as she pulled herself up. "It's slowly coming back to me." she said, as she looked at the Doctor and saw him looking at his hand "Are you okay?"
"Alyssa Smith. I was going take you to so many places. Barcelona. Not the city Barcelona, the planet Barcelona. You'd love it. Fantastic place. They've got dogs with no noses. Imagine how many times a day you end up telling that joke, and it's still funny." The Doctor said
"It's started hasn't it" Alyssa said, knowing exactly what was happening.
"yes" the Doctor admitted,
"I just wanted to save you." Alyssa said "I didn't know I wouldn't be able to let go of it..."
"You did save me Alyssa Smith." the Doctor said, "And it was my turn to save you."
"Not if it means you regenerate." Alyssa said
"really it's okay. I might have two heads, or no head. Imagine me with no head. And don't say that's an improvement. But it's a bit dodgy, this process. You never know what you're going to end up with." The Doctor said, before he doubled over in pain,
"Doctor!" Alyssa said about to run forward to him.
"Stay away!" The Doctor yelled, and Alyssa stopped.
"Im so so sorry." Alyssa said,
"you have nothing to be sorry for and you arenot to be blamed for this." The Doctor said, "And before I go, I just want to tell you, you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And do you know what? So was I." he finished before Golden light burst from his body and his face and body changed into a form Alyssa knew quite well.
"Hello. Okay." The Doctor said, before he stopped suddenly and felt his teeth "Ooo, new teeth. That's weird. So, where was I? Oh, that's right. Barcelona." The Doctor said, making Alyssa smirk.
