Rikers pov

I was in Ten Forward, talking to y/n when all of a sudden she zoned out.

"Y/n?" I asked, tapping her arm.

She looked at me, her eyes full of fear, and then she got up, and fell to the floor, holding her knees to her chest as she yelled "NO!"

She covered her head with her arms, whimpering in fear.

I tapped my communicator "Riker to Doctor Crusher, we need you in Ten Forward."

"I'll be right there."

After a few minutes, Beverly got here and she looked at y/n, and she gave her a sedative.

"She's suffering from ptsd, something traumatic happened to her and now she's reliving her memories." She said as two people helped y/n up to go to Sick Bay.

"Can you help her?" I asked.

"Yes, but I can't cure her." She said, tapping the empty hypospray on her palm.

I nodded.

"Do it."

She nodded.

Y/n's pov

I woke up in Sick Bay, Counselor Troi and Will sitting next to me, and Will was holding my hand.

"Why am I in here?" I asked.

"You don't remember?" Will asked.

"No, what happened?"

"You had a ptsd episode in Ten Forward."

I sighed.

"I'm sorry, it doesn't normally get that bad." I said.

"Because of what happened, I need you to talk with a counselor." The Doctor said.

I nodded "Okay."

"Our first appointment will be tomorrow." Counselor Troi said.

"This happened 20 years ago, why should I need to talk about it?"

"Because it was traumatizing to you."

I sighed softly.

*The next day*

"You were very traumatized and scared, why is that?"

"Everyone was killed." I said.

"How did you feel?"

"Scared, and lonely."

"Tell me what happened, in as much detail as you possibly can."

"It was a normal day, I woke up, had breakfast and then I had to go to class."

"Do you remember what you were learning about that day?"

"I believe we were learning how to read." I said, truthfully.

"What happened?"

"After class was over I went back to my quarters, and I asked my mom for a snack."

I crossed my arms and legs, suddenly feeling cold.

"And then the ship started getting attacked, they had disabled us so we couldn't go anywhere." I rubbed my arms.

"We didn't have any impulse or warp, we were stranded in deep space, without shields to protect us."

"We were boarded and everyone on board was brutally murdered."

"Except you." Counselor Troi pointed out.

I nodded.

"When everything had gone quiet, I had come out of my hiding spot, and I had seen... everything. Everyone was killed, even the children, no one was left alive." I looked down, talking to the floor.

"I wandered around, looking for my mom and I went everywhere, looking for her." I shivered.

Why is it so cold in here?

"When I found her I.." I went quiet, my eyes watering.

I looked up at her "I screamed and I started crying."

"What else happened?" Counselor Troi asked me.

"I... don't remember." I lied, not wanting to talk about it.

"I can tell that you're lying."

"Can you also tell that I don't want to talk about it?" I asked, shivering as warm tears slipped out of my eyes.

"Yes, I apologize."

"I saw that you knew Will, how do you know him?"

"We went to the Academy together." I wiped my tears with my sleeve.

"So you know a lot about him?" She asked.

"Yes, we were great friends, back when I was very outgoing."

"What happened?"

"I didn't remember any of this stuff when I was going to the Academy until my third year, we had went to a holodeck and we had chosen a ship to see, and then when I stepped on it I... started having flashbacks and I had fainted."

"I thought they were false memories, or even memories from a past life, until they started reoccurring, and getting more... intense."

She nodded.

She got up and walked to a cabinet, opening it and she pulled a box out.

She set the box down on the table and she said "Open this."

I opened the box and my jaw dropped.

"How did you... how did you get this?" I asked, pulling out an old stuffed animal I used to have in my childhood.

She smiled softly "I have my sources."

"I... thank you." I said, holding it close to me.

"You're welcome, that's all the time I have for you today, I have other patients to talk to, we will have more time tomorrow, you may leave."

I nodded, leaving with my old toy.

I went to Will's quarters.

I told him everything that happened.

"But for some reason I got very cold, explaining everything, very quick." I said, confused about it.

I sighed.

"I feel much more comfortable talking to you."

He smiled "I can tell."
