5 years later | Lisa Manoban's apartment
The sound of naughty tiny feet slapping against the pale, cold floor of Lisa's apartment in the middle of the night wakes the secretary from her sleep.
She tosses to her left torso and turns the light on the nightstand on and allows her eyes to adjust to the sudden invasion of illumination that definitely assaults her eyes but she cares less about it anyway.
Taking a deep breath, she reaches for her phone and clicks the screen alive. It's somewhere around three in the morning and the possibility of having a random, astray soul running up and down her hallway is very unlikely so pushing every possibility about bumping into a ghost at wee hours like this, Lisa steps out of her comfy blanket and marches for the door.
"Hello?"
She breaks the eerie silence. No answer. She shuts her mouth and tries to listen. That's when she hears a soft, rugging breath coming from behind the long curtain of hers. Slowly, she walks to reach the curtain and yanks it to the left side, before a really high pitched voice greets her ears.
"OH MY GOD! IT'S A GHOST!"
Lisa winces but says nothing at the absurd comment.
"Park Ji-Ae, what are you doing here?"
She asks. Trying to act stern but when the fat girl standing there finally registers Lisa's voice, her trademark silly grin appears, lighting up her round face.
It's the type of smile that Lisa hates because the ability of it to wipe away whatever that is on the Thai's mind.
"Where's mommy?"
Lisa asks as she levels her own height to meet Ji - Ae's.
"I don't know" the kid replies cutely as she snakes her fat arms around Lisa's neck and whines as demand to be lifted to the secretary's chest escapes her tiny mouth.
"She could be in the kitchen"
She says and Lisa doesn't doubt that. Lately, the CEO has been opting to binge eating as things get hard at work.
"Let's go get mommy then"
She suggests with a motherly tone as she turns her feet towards the direction of the kitchen with the baby rested against her chest.
Rosie is in the mid of binge eating a carton of Ben and Jerry's when Lisa walks in with the baby. Startled, she drops the spoon flat on the kitchen counter before the smirk, the same smirk that Ji - Ae has pops on her face.
