Rosie's pov
"You look terrible, Roseanne"
My mom says bluntly as she scans my pathetic looking face. I can't blame her. I have been going through lots of sleepless nights with the girls.
They are so active, especially at night and it's hard to put them to bed when all they want to do is either jumping on the bed or binge - watching a cartoon series on Netflix.
Mama once said that they are in fun age. But where's the fun in losing all the time to sleep just to watch the girls snuggling with me as they eagerly keeping their eyes wide awake at night.
"Well, thank you" I roll my eyes at her as I tuck my blonde hair behind my ears and rest my hands on either sides of my hips. "The girls are driving me crazy"
"You don't have to say" my mom feigns a sympathy look. "Those dark circles under your eyes speak enough of what you're going through"
"Well, aren't you a good reader?"
"That I always am" my mom grins. "But motherhood looks so good on you, Rosie. Trust me"
Her words warm my heart. Ever since I was a kid, I always knew that I wanted to be a mom. And not just any mom. I want to be exactly like my mom. She has always been my greatest inspiration in life. And to hear such compliment coming from her feels so great.
"Well" I clear my throat. "Thank you, mom" I smile a little before she begins to recap on our last gossip session. I listen tentatively to her until I hear something coming from the direction of my walk in closet.
"Hold on, mom" I tell my mom as I leave the iPad on the kitchen counter and shuffle to check on the noise. Ji-Ae and Lili are playing inside the room with a black sharpie in each hand. I don't know where they got that thing but suddenly I don't feel like seeing anymore when I see my white YSL shoulder bag is somewhere on the floor tainted in unreadable scribbles.
I swallow anger as I look at those adorable kittens that seem to not notice the way their mommy already there inside the same room with them. "Oh my god" Ji-Ae giggles as she points at her own drawing. They are currently doing art on my $ 1000 dollar, white Fendi tshirt.
"It's an elephant, unnie! Did you see this!"
She turns to look at Lili with a huge smile. Her big sister nods as she points at her unreadable writing on the shirt. "See? I wrote my name here. It's Lili"
"Write my name too!" Ji-Ae insists as she peeks over her sister's shoulder. "Do you know how to spell my name?"
"Of course" Lili boasts. "I'm seven years old. I'm smarter than you"
"Oh, okay" the baby replies as she looks at her big sister who is scribbling her name on the short. It's written at the corner of Lili's name with a little heart to match the one that's also drawn next to Lili's name.
