Third person's pov
Ya - ra Park walks into the half abandoned building all by herself. Her driver waits in front of the building, not even once questioning the woman of why they are even there that day.
"Good morning, Ms. Park"
A gruffy voice greets. It belongs to none other than Jackson Wang, the criminal on the run; wanted for murdering too many high profiles people.
"You look terrible" the old woman says as she studies the man. Jackson has outgrown his short hair. Now his dark flock reaches his shoulder and the criminal can even twist it into a messy, casual bun.
He looks sexy as hell. But he's also the son of hell.
"I have a new job for you"
The woman says and the man just chuckles. "You always come here with a request. Last time, it was Kim Young Soon, your son's father - in - law. Now, who's your target?"
"You know my granddaughter?"
Ya - ra asks and Jackson frowns for a second. "Not Jisoo. Her little sister, the blonde?" the old woman provides the information
"Oh, totally" the man smiles hideously. "What's up with her? Do you need me to finish her for you?"
"I don't need you to do that"
Ya - ra clenches her jaws. "I just need you to finish the one she's dating. That snobbish bastard and her little daughter"
"A kid?" Jackson raises his eyebrows before laughing evilly. "You're really one despicable creature, Ms. Park"
"You're not the one to teach me what type of a person I am" the old woman snaps before her hand travels into her Dior handbag and produces a thick envelope when she pulls it out a second later.
"Do it for me" she throws the envelope on the floor. Jackson bends over to grab it. Once checking the amount inside that thick package, the man finally nods. "Now, you have my attention. What's the name again?"
"Manoban" Ya - ra says. "Lisa Manoban"
✨✨✨
It has been three days and Jackson has been following Lisa from a safe distance. From what he can conclude, the chief secretary does have a busy schedule. But every single day, when it reaches the end, she would come back to her unit alone.
And that's be the perfect time for Jackson to finish her off. But there's something about the Thai that makes Jackson remembers something about an arrogant police officer that shot his brother, resulting to his death three years prior. He isn't sure if it's the face or it's the name that rings the unwanted bell within his memory.
So, he does his homework and is beyond excited to figure out that Michael Manoban is Lisa Manoban's father. Now, he has a solid reason to put a bullet through her head.

Lisa's pov
After dinner, I sit on the couch in the living hall as I watch Rosie in the kitchen who is teaching the girls to do their dishes. Once everything is cleaned and sparkles, she walks into the living hall with them and a small smile when she meets my eyes. "Mama, let's play" Lili mumbles and I nod. We play for a good one hour before the girls start to yawn.
I'm still in my office wear when Rosie walks out of the bedroom in her pajamas. A hand in one phone as she dimmers the light of the chandelier before comfortably joins me on the couch, her head against my chest as we sit there both in silence.
"Are you okay?" she finally asks and I swallow. I am not sure what to tell her. Should I tell her that I feel someone is following me these few weeks? No, that's stupid. It would make Rosie anxious and to think that we both have the girls to care now, I don't think that would be a good idea.
I play with her long, silky blonde hair for a moment before shaking my head. It hurts to lie at someone you love but if that means you can buy a little time to keep them safe, I would happily do that for a thousand times.
"I'm just tired"
I say softly. Rosie looks at me before smiling. She traces her long finger against the skin of my jawline. "I know you are. How about taking a few days off?"
"And be here with you and the kids?" I ask and she laughs. "No, thanks. I love them but they drive me crazy sometimes"
"I understand. They drive me crazy all the time, Lisa"
"But I love them" I say and Rosie nods. "I love them too"
"And I love you" I look into her eyes lovingly. "And I don't expect you to say it back too because you still need time and I would love to wait. Good things come to those who wait, you know?"
She pauses for a second before snuggling more into my chest. Her ear is now pressed hard again the location of my heart. I hope she hears how fast it beats now. "God is nice, you know" she says and I hum. "He sure is"
"He gives me you" she adds. "And I know you know this, Lisa. But I'm saying it again in case you forget, that I am so lucky, beyond even, to have known you and to have you loving me"
"You're such a sap" I tease her.
"You're too. I guess we are equal"
"You bet" I cradle her for a moment before noticing the time. "I guess, I have to go now. It's almost midnight and you have to go get some rest"
"No" she whines. "Sleeps with me, Lisa. We don't have to anything. Just cuddle?"
I laugh at her clinginess. "That sounds cool but I've something to do at home" I kiss the top of her forehead. "I love you and the kids. Be safe"
"Alright" she says at last. "But promise me you'll be safe for me and the kids too"
I look at her one last time. "You have my word"
