                         (Natomi's POV)

"I'm up first." A curly black-haired male said as he went forward.

"He only has ten seconds. I wonder what he'll do." Takamaki said as he observed the male.

"Start!" The female announcer said as she had a stopwatch with her.

The curly head male starts off with a 180 Kickflip, which was a Kickflip in 180 degrees.

He was quite fast. This trick took him about five seconds to do it.

He then uses the ramp to do a new trick. From the looks of it, he was going to do the Rock to Fakie. Rock to Fakie was a ramp trick.

"He's the first person to use the ramp." Takamaki said.

As the curly head male was going to attempt the Rock to Fakie trick, his time was up.

"Times up!" The female announcer said.

Every contestant gets only ten seconds.

"That wasn't fair! He was about to do a new trick!" A female from the crowd said as she was disappointed.

"It doesn't matter if he was going to do a new trick. His time was up." One of the judges said.

"He wasn't a bad skateboarder. The only problem was the time." Takamaki said.

"I wonder if anyone is able to beat the time..." I said.

Ten seconds seemed unfair for any skateboarder's. Plus, the judges vote based off of your skills.

The only person who could beat that time was Izumo Yuji, the famous skateboarder from Tokyo.

He was able to do a 45 inch ollie under ten seconds.

There would be no one in this contest that can match up to him.

After a while, ten contestants were out. Leaving ten left. Thankfully, I didn't went yet since I was a little nervous.

"You can do this Natomi!" Kohaku said as she cheered for me.

I was glad that she was cheering for me. It did give me motivation.

"You're not going yet?" Takamaki asked.

"How about you?" I asked.

"I'm going last." He said.

"You're next!" The female announcer said as she pointed at Takamaki.

"Welp, looks like luck wasn't at your side." I said.

Takamaki sighed as he went up next.

"And...start!" The female announcer said as she started her stopwatch.

Within a second, Takamaki started his first trick.

"Woah..." I said as I was amazed.

The trick he was attempting was called 360 Pop Shove It. For this trick, the skateboarder had to shove their board in 360.

Takamaki was able to do that in five seconds.

He then goes to a different obstacle to start a new trick.

His next trick was Backside Tailside. A trick that wasn't too hard to do if you have experience.

To do a Backside Tailside, the skateboarder has to ollie high enough to get over the sliding edge of the obstacle. Then, the skateboarder releases themselves to the slide.

Takamaki was able to do that as well within the remaining seconds.

"Times up!" The female announcer said.

"Whew. I was able to do two within ten seconds..." Takamaki said.

"Judges, what're your votes?" The female announcer asked.

Out of speed, Takamaki received 10/10 points.

Out of originality, Takamaki received 8/10 points.

Out of DOF (Degree of Difficulty), Takamaki received 9/10 points.

Out of execution, Takamaki received 10/10 points.

All the points added up to 37 out of 40.

"You pass!" The female announcer said as the crowd cheered.

Takamaki was the first person to pass the Heat Round.

If he was able to do it, then I think I could do it as well.

"There's nine contestants left. That means four contestants has a chance to pass the Heat Round!" The female announcer said.

"But what if all nine contestants don't have enough time to do their trick?" A male from the crowd asked.

"Then, he will win this contest without going to the final round." The female announcer said as she pointed at Takamaki.

I need to pass this Heat Round...

"You're next!" The female announcer said as she pointed at me.

"M-Me?" I asked as I wasn't ready yet.

"Yes. Go on! Show us what you got!" The female announcer said.

The crowd looked at me as I went forward.
