Kanina pa galit ang doctor na kasama ko ngayon sa OR. Normally, I should have mandated him out of my OR. Ayoko ng gagong kasama. But I understand this bastard infront of me doing the operation on a patient who just had a hemorrhagic stroke. Nothing can appease a heartbroken surgeon. Not even a good acknowledgement or even great sex from another woman. It will all be useless. It will never mask the longing we have for the woman we love. My only concern is that, masmalala pa ata siya kaysa sa akin noon. He is draining himself to the point of no surrender. Good thing that he is alert always. His presence of mind in the OR never fails to amaze me. And he never puts his patients at risk no matter how heartbroken he is. My only advantage was him doing all the surgeries for me. It made me make more time with my wife.

" You need a break Doctor, represent the team in a research meeting in Dubai." I opened the conversation. I already told Ivana about it prior. The one she almost cursed me for. Ayaw sumama nung mabungangang doktor na iyun.

" Find another representative. I'm not available for now"

" You cannot stay unaffected by what happened, Doctor Montenegro. I say that you have to face it." He looked at the patient's vital signs on the cardiac monitor.

" I'll pass. And there's no relationship with me going to Dubai and me having a goddamn heartbreak, Doctor Ibarra. You talk alien."

" Ivana will accompany you" Now I got his full attention. He looked at me in an instant as if forgetting that he is doing a major surgery.

" Did she agree?" Tanong niya agad.

" Just tell me if you don't want the offer. I'll just ask Doctor Alfonso to back you up" He eyed me murderously. That's it! I'm fucking done.

Fruit salad ang gusto kong kainin dahil katatapos ko lang mag-admit ng sampu sa ER. Puro dengue at gastrointestinal ang cases. Nausea ang vomiting lahat ng complains nila. Iyung isa lang ay buntis. I admitted her to the OB ward after rulling out other complications. So far okay naman si buntis.

" Love" Tawag sa akin ni Jed na kagagaling lang ng neuro ward. I smiled.

" Ang tagal ng oras. Gusto ko ng umuwi" I told him but he just smiled at me.

" I cannot leave my post. ER ako" I complained once more.

" You can do it, Love. I'll be waiting for you at the Doctor's lounge. Dun na muna ako matutulog. Sabay na tayong mag-out bukas ng umaga" He said. I nodded. Bukas pa kase matatapos iyung shift ko. Then alis daw kami ni Doc Montenegro bukas din ng hapon papuntang Dubai.
